He is not the Martyr Bec his life story does NOT fit the criteria stated by Glenn’s Posts above. And you stated the answer in your own response. It doesn’t say he wasn’t a Eucharistic Martyr Bec he wasn’t.- No, St. Tiburtius was not a martyr of the Eucharist, but he was a Christian martyr. St. Tarcisius is the saint who is considered a martyr of the Eucharist.
The Eucharistic Martyr will have a known story/event in life as a Eucharistic Martyr as per Our Blessed Mother!

March 1962 Who says Padre Pio didn't have a sense of humor ?
In response to a letter Conchita wrote to Padre Pio ,asking him to visit her in Garabandal , (maybe hearing of his ability to bi-locate) he responded: " Do you think I can travel about like that , according to my whim, and why not like Santa Claus, and come down the chimney into your home ? "

    MARCH 1963: CONCHITA'S FIRST LOCUTIONS
Conchita had been suffering a great deal ever since the month of January from not seeing the Blessed Virgin. Because she already knew the date of the Great Miracle, she felt how much one must be able to wait. . . actively. Assailed by the doubts of her entourage, she, too, was beginning to waver . . . when she heard Mary's voice interiorly for the first time telling her: "Have no doubts that my Son will perform the Miracle." This first of the two locutions that Conchita was to be granted as early as March 1963, gave her "a joy and peace still greater than when saw the Blessed Virgin . . . for then I have Our Lady inside me!," she explained. Fascinated by "this voice of intimate happiness without words,"
Conchita was henceforth "as certain," as she said, "that the Miracle would come, as 2 and 2 make 4!" Conchita wrote in her Diary that she preferred locutions rather than apparitions, but still more to receive the Eucharist. She explained that her locutions occurred when she was praying "either in my room, or at the Pines, or again at church.

TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY: MARCH 3, 1962 A MYSTERIOUS (FIRST) LETTER FROM THE FAMOUS ITALIAN STIGMATIZED CAPUCHIN, BLESSED PADRE PIO OF PIETRELCINA, TO THE VISIONARIES OF GARABANDAL
On this "first Saturday" of March, Conchita received a letter addressed to the four visionaries in the village. It came from Padre Pio, as the Vision would confirm to Conchita, during an ecstasy she had on the same day, telling them, among other things:
"Dear children, this morning at nine, the Blessed Virgin asked me to tell you: 'O blessed little girls of San Sebastian de Garabandal! I promise that I will be with you until the end of times, and that you will be with Me until the end of the world. Then you will be united with Me in the glory of Paradise' ".
"I am sending you a copy of the rosary of Fatima that the Blessed Virgin asked me to send to you. This rosary was dictated by the Blessed Virgin and must be made known for the salvation of sinners and for the preservation of humanity from the worst chastisements God is threatening to send us.
"I am giving you only one advice: Pray and make others pray, for the world is on the edge of ruin. "People do not believe you: they do not believe in your conversations with the Blessed Virgin . . . "People will believe when it will be very, very late."

PRELATES AND GARABANDAL Reprinted with the kind permission from the “GARABANDAL JOURNAL” MARCH 2019

The Archbishop of Madrid Casimiro Morcillo Gonzalez, in a letter issued on May 13th 1967 to the Bishop of Tecna in Peru, five days after the death of Bishop of Santander Puchol Montis stated : “ The apparitions of Garabandal are a confirmation of those at Fatima 50 years ago. The Virgin Mary came once more to insist in Spain what she had already told three Shepherds at Cova da Iria: “The bitter cup is not only filled ,it is spilling over”. I personally see a great parallel between Fatima and Garabandal. The children saw the Virgin at the exclusion of others. The Virgin smiled at them. She promised them heaven. She asked that they spread her message of the Rosary, Penance and prayers for sinners. If there is a small difference in the last message, it is precisely it's great clarity and the extent to which it admonishes the faithful, priests and even Bishops. There are therefore sufficient reasons for the Holy Father Pope Paul VI to tell Conchita during their meeting of January 19 ,1966 : “Conchita I bless you and with me the entire church blesses you.”

Glenn - question... I do not understand how Conchita knew the young saint of the Eucharist, related to the Miracle, by looking at the liturgical calendar of the time and that there is no such record of such a saint in the 60's liturgical calendars. If it was easily available for her to see then it should have been easy for anyone to know by looking at the older liturgical calendar. This has always confused me. Can you share your thoughts on this issue? Thanks.

I've often wondered about this part of the story, as well. From "She went in haste to the mountain":

    ***
On a day in September of 1963, some French people were invited to eat dinner with Conchita in a house near the girl's home. She was devouring pastries with the healthy appetite of girls of her age. Someone jokingly asked her about the sacrifices and penance mentioned in the message. Conchita accepted the joke in good humor and laughed. But suddenly she became quiet and seemed to concentrate; her face lit up; and with her hands joined on her chest, she began to speak:

The Miracle will be on the feast day of a young martyr of the Eucharist, a boy who carried Communion to persecuted Christians. His companions, on seeing him pass by, wanted to force him to stay and take part in their games. Infuriated by his resistance, they ended up hurling stones at him until he was left almost dead. Later a Christian soldier came, who recognized him and carried him in his arms.

One of those present exclaimed: Oh, that's St. Tarcisius! Conchita, without saying a word, as if she hadn't heard, turned back to her pastries. After dinner ended and Conchita had left, those at the table exchanged their impressions. The oldest in the group concluded: It seems that Conchita saw this scene in an ecstasy, but without understanding what martyr it was. I don't think she even knows his name. (L'Etoile dans la Montagne) Book 3, Chapter 7, "She Went in Haste to the Mountain"

    ****
I think there's another version of this story where Conchita looks at a calendar, but in this version she goes into ecstasy. Also, there's additional information you'll find that says the marty's name is non-Spanish, but it was never clear to me how we know this came from Conchita. So, whoever this martyr was, he may not have even appeared on the saints calendar in 1963. In fact, he may not have even been born yet, IF Conchita was being shown the future. The Eucharist Martyr is the most difficult piece of the puzzle to fit into the whole.

I was going to post the story (but " Sic Transi Gloria " already did. Unfortunately the information was made public in a special GARABADNAL MAGAZINE ISSUE " THE WARNING & MIRACLE" FROM 1984, I never keep the copy because it was available online on Joey's site, but now the site is gone, and the only online copy I found (for some strange reason ) does not have page 10 & 11 , where the quote came from. I am going to try and get one of my FB members to give me a copy of the magazine if they still have one. Maybe it might provide an answer.

I've attached a screenshot of the info from pg 10. This mentions nothing about her looking at a calendar and recognizing the name of the saint. (It also doesn't specifically mention he is a young saint). I wonder if the story of her recognizing the name of the saint in a calendar is made up.

The Virgen told Conchita the exact date of "The Miracle" and Conchita located the date in the calendar set in the kitchen of her house. This is how Conchita found out the name of the Holy Martyr related to the Eucharist. Conchita told Father Luna, "is a saint with a very rare name."

Jose Luis has been spreading the news about the apparitions of Garabandal in Spain since 1968. He has met and talked many times with the visionaries.

Thanks for sharing where this came from. I guess Father Jose Luis is the source of the "calendar variation." I have a possible explanation that could harmonize the "ecstasy with French friends variation" with the "calendar saint variation." In the ecstasy variation, the oldest person said she wasn't even sure Conchita knew/was told the name of the martyr. What if she was right, and Conchita wasn't told the martyr's name, but later went to her calendar to check the saint on the Miracle day, saw a saints name, an unusual (rare) name, and assumed this was the Eucharist martyr Mary told her about. BUT...as it turns out, that martyr wasn't who Mary was talking about. Instead, Mary was referring to a future martyr whose feast day will be on the Miracle date.

What's kind of interesting is we can still use Conchita's calendar variation to know the day (not the year) of the Miracle. If we assume April is the month, it will be a rare name, probably non-Spanish, of a saint whose feast day falls between the 8th and the 16th. Keep in mind, when Conchita looked at the calendar in 1963, the Miracle date probably wasn't a Thursday.

I literally have looked at countless dozens of names over the years, and no one fits the description perfectly except St.Tarcisius. (except the feat day ,which at one time was April26,but that is still not 8-16th). I am 100 % sure about the month of April, from 2 different quotes. Maybe we're not supposed to figure it out , just like her not being able to give us the Miracle date in advance. I take her advice " Live the message" ( don't worry about the date).

START OFF LENT WITH THE MORNING OFFERING PRAYER

Our Blessed Mother said in Garabandal on October 18th, 1961, "We must make many sacrifices, perform much penance, and visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently. But first, we must lead good lives. "
In 1945 Jesus told Lucia, the seer of Fatima, "The sacrifice and penance I now seek and require is the fulfillment of your state in life and the observance of my laws." Whatever your state in life may be you can sanctify all your daily actions if upon arising you recite sincerely the morning offering prayer. Through the "Morning Offering of Reparation" every act you do becomes a sacrifice. The word "sacrifice" means to make "holy." Once you have made your morning offering you make "holy" every act you do throughout the day.
Padre Pio said it best, "If you knew the value of suffering, you wouldn't give it up."
Conchita suggests we all should start our day with this prayer.
“ O Jesus, through the Immaculate heart of Mary, and in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass being offered throughout the world, I offer you all my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate heart of Mary, for my sins, and the sins of the whole world. “

Use this Morning Offering Prayer to start your Lenten season ! If you need some suggestions for sacrifices, remember these Corporal and the Spiritual acts of mercy.
    Corporal works:
    1. Feed the hungry
    2. Clothe the naked
    3. Shelter the homeless
    4. Visit the imprisoned
    5. Visit the sick
    6. Give drink to the Thirsty
    7. Bury the dead

    Spiritual Acts:
    1. Admonishment of sinners
    2. Instruct the ignorant
    3. Comfort the afflicted
    4. Pray for the living and the dead
    5. Forgive those who afflict us
    6. Bear wrongs patiently
    7. Counsel the doubtful

An interview with Anaceita Gonzalez, Conchita’s Mother “ “Needles” magazine, January- March Issue 1977, page 16- 20

Question: What kind of personality did Conchita have before the apparitions?
Answer: She was the best little girl I have ever known most obedient. At 5 she started school and her teacher would say that she was very good and an intelligent little girl, who would take criticism and never pout or frown. This is the way she was with me to. Question: was she a very religious child? Answer: Well she was, because she had the example at home I would always go to the rosary like everyone else. When all the girls would leave, Conchita would stay behind with me for the way of the cross and the *Trisagion. Then we would be go to the chapel with all the ladies to pray the Sorrows of Our Lady. all the while Conchita would be holding my arm even though I wouldn't ask her to, she would just come along.

    * An old Spanish devotion to the Holy Trinity prayed in groups.

I thought I would delve into the mystery of St. Tarcisius so I used AI and got these results for your perusal:

The feast day of St. Tarcisius is celebrated on August 15. This date is traditionally associated with his commemoration in the Roman Catholic Church, though it’s worth noting that St. Tarcisius is not universally listed in all modern liturgical calendars. Historically, he is recognized as a young martyr who died protecting the Eucharist, and his feast aligns with the Assumption of Mary in some traditions, though older sources occasionally tie it to other dates like August 26. Since my knowledge is continuously updated, this reflects the most consistent current understanding.

WHY IS GARABANDAL SACRED GROUND ?
We all know about the special area of Garabandal called "The Pines". The 9 Pine trees where the Blessed Mother appeared, and foretold of the great Miracle that will take place there. Mary said "It will be the greatest miracle that my Son, Jesus, will have ever performed for mankind.” The Virgin Mary referred to “the Pines“ : "God loves this place very much. This place is sacred." “GARABANDAL JOURNAL” NOV.-DEC. 2002
I have been told that Garabandal has a history of doing a nightly Rosary for hundreds of years ! It’s no wonder why “God loves this place very much, this place is sacred !”
Is there another apparition site where God has said this ? (Not that I know of ).

Garabandal and the Holy Shroud of Turin
    NOVEMBER 4,1962

Only after Father Eusebio Garcia de Pesquera had written his comprehensive book on Garabandal, SHE WENT IN HASTE TO THE MOUNTAIN, did it come to light that the Shroud was mentioned at Garabandal. It was during one of Conchita's ecstasies when the Blessed Virgin spoke to the visionary about the Sabana Santa (Spanish for Holy Shroud). Among the spectators at that ecstasy was the Marquesa de Santa Maria, an excellent witness, and it was from her that Prof. Jacques Serre learned what the Virgin said about the Shroud. The Marquesa heard Conchita repeat the words of Our Lady:
"It is the divine imprint of my Son."

Reprinted from the “ Garabandal Journal” March-April 2006

*** It is not a coincidence that the blood on the Shroud is the same blood type” AB” found on the scientific examination of the first Eucharist miracle in Lanciano, Italy,
    in the 8th century.
