"THE END OF THE TIMES" One reason I love the “ MESSENGER” feature on FB is many members like to ask questions privately, others like to discuss ideas privately. I have had one of the most interesting discussions with a member who wishes to remain anonymous. For decades the mystery around Mary’s quote “ the end of THE times”, had lead to many guesses as to a specific time period. This member has put forth an idea which I found very thought provoking, and worthy of discussion. He wrote:” I may be wrong, but I think I know what the Virgin was referring to in that prediction. When our new pope chose the name Leo XIV, it immediately became clear to me that "the end of the times" referred to the end of the reign of Satan given to him by Jesus, mentioned in Pope Leo XIII's vision in 1884. Stunned by his vision, he composed the St. Michael the Archangel Prayer and asked that it be said after every low Mass. Both Pope St. John Paul II and Pope Francis asked that it be said by the faithful also. So, the papacy of Leo XIII was the beginning of Satan's effort to try and destroy Jesus's Church. And now, Leo XIV's papacy will be the end of it via The Warning and Great Miracle occurring soon. Therefore, the Leo papacies could be seen as bookends of Satan's reign. Also, a major coincidence is the date on which Pope Leo XIV was elected - May 8th. It's been said that there are no coincidences when God is trying to speak to us. In Europe, May 8th is the feast day of both St. Michael the Archangel and the Blessed Virgin. May 8th is also the date that St. María Maravillas of Jesus' prediction about the tragic, sudden death of the bishop who didn't believe in Garabandal came true. The 100 year reign of satan saw the following events: 2 World wars, Russia spreading its errors through Communism, the Holocaust, Legalized abortions, dissolusion of the family unit, church attendance fall, doubting of the true presence of the Eucharist,and church sex scandals. Yet I immediately thought of Mathew 16:18 “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” The Church does seem to be experiencing a renewal lately with our youth, and there is a renewed hope also with our new Pontiff, Pope Leo XIV. So taking into account the time period we have experienced, and the events, could this be the “end of the (evil) times”, and the beginning of a new age, one in which we will experience God’s final act of mercy ( The Warning & Miracle),as God allows us to repent and return to him, and decide our own fate, or face a punishment( The Conditional Chastisement) our Blessed Mother warned us about at Garabandal. I believe there is another to come just prior to the "Warning" , which is the reason God brings the Warning, to stop it. The Visionaries said " things will be at their worst" when the Warning comes. Time will tell.

This may indeed be true, Glenn. There was a brief mention of this over on the 'Judging Pope Leo' thread. Two Leos... the Alpha and Omega of their times. I agree, all of these "coincidences " are too profound to be random.

Greetings All, Although one possible significance of the papal name "Leo" might appertain to the "end of the times" notion and the bracketing of Satan's 100 year influence, there is yet another possibility. Pope Leo XIII promulgated "Aeterni Patris." He was an advocate of Thomism and sought its revivification in seminaries, in schools, and amongst the Catholic laity in general. Due largely to Pope Leo XIII's efforts, the following eighty years, to about 1959, were a sort of golden age of Thomism, during which men of genius, both clerics and lay, appeared and commented profoundly on St. Thomas's metaphysics, philosophy, and theology to the benefit of Roman Catholics everywhere. The other possibility is this: the Holy Ghost might be telling us what not to expect from Leo XIV. Perhaps He is telling us through the name "Leo" that the doctrinal and other manifold errors, so prevalent in Francis's papacy, will neither be addressed nor corrected during Leo XIV's in a manner consonant with the profoundest and most cogent and coherent Catholic body of thought, namely, Thomism. Perhaps the use of "Leo" signals more of a disjunction, more of a distancing of the Church from the path it charted under Leo XIII, than it is a signal of the closing of an age in fulfillment of an aspect of the message of Garabandal? But there is nothing, of course, to prevent the choice of papal name to include both of the possible interpretations listed herein. I only offer the observation on Leo XIII's championing of Thomism and Leo XIV's not being a Thomist, and the possible significance of that, as food for general consideration. Regards to all, Vincent
