You are totally right Agnes. And Vigano was a brave one. Unity with heretics is never a good thing. We need justice and to excommunicate those who don’t follow His teachings. If there is a schism to come, so be it. God is in charge. Pope Leo has a very difficult task. If he protects the heretics the Church will lose funding, if he protects the traditionalist’s the hate will escalate. I feel very sorry for him. May Pope Leo through all our prayers and fasting receive the strength to do God’s work.
I was waiting! This is my confirmation we are in safe hands. Pray and fast for our Pope, he is going to need us, to face down the spirit of the world. I feel close to him already, following an initial hesitancy purely because I never heard of him before and he is American. A lot of political power in one place etc. I need not have worried. Anyone serving a people where you climb a mountain on a donkey is not worldly. The American Cardinals took a photo before the conclave, all six of them. He's not in it! Michael Matt takes a positive view of Pope Leo XIV. He talks about temperament. I think he (Leo) is gentle but firm in dogma. Worth a watch for those unsure what to think. Viva Cristo Rey
No, our Lord never taught blind obedience. He said by their fruits ye shall know them and warned us about wolves in sheep's clothing.
Beginning about the 20 minute mark, Dr. Taylor makes a profound point, ultimately the interior disposition of the heart in Catholics leads to profound transformation, not Papal pronouncements.
Unfortunately the problem is not confined to Germany, the Church in e.g. Holland and Belgium is also deeply infected with modernism. What marks Germany out is the fact that the Church there is proportionately far wealthier than any other and their remittances to the Vatican reflect that fact. Their wealth arises from the 'Church Tax' levied by the state on everyone who belongs to a registered religious group and amounts to an additional 9% of an individual's tax bill which is given to the denomination of their choice. A growing number of Germans, both Catholic and Protestant, de-register to avoid the tax (or for other reasons) but many who might do so continue to pay because non-payment will result in the refusal to provide the sacraments of baptism and marriage and even last rites and Catholic burial. This wealth and the leverage that it provides in dealings with the Vatican is the reason for German bishops to be so 'brave' and outspoken in its dealings the Vatican. The Vatican's finances are such that a schism involving the German Church will create a massive further financial blow to Church finances and the German bishops are fully aware of the fact. 'We pay, we say' is the basis for their confidence in doing their own thing.
An American Pope ready to mediate war between Russian and Ukraine. It really is amazing. I was driving home a month or two ago and heard something like “President Trump continues to threaten annexing Canada” on the radio and just burst out laughing. Imagine telling someone all this fifteen years ago.
At Sunday Mass Pope Leo stated that , "during Mass, I strongly felt the spiritual presence of Pope Francis accompanying us from heaven". Is there a beatification on the cards?
If he had the Last Rites and the Apostolic Pardon then by God's mercy he could well be there. But the traditional Catholic understanding is to never assume it and continue to pray for his soul. If I am wrong this i am very willing to be corrected.
I'm sorry to have to say the news about Cardinal Sarah was fake. AI deceiving faithful Catholics. It's a jungle out there.
Our prayers are never wasted. If Pope Francis is safe in heaven now, some on this Earth might be given a sign. Or not. And our prayers will go for another soul most in need for them.
This frankly seems more like a political move—some kind of formal courtesy toward the progressives who also voted for him in the last conclave. It's like Obama and Trump shaking hands and laughing at Jimmy Carter's funeral. There is a possibility that he will continue part of Francis’s legacy, such as the synodal Church and concern for immigrants and the environment, while he may completely ignore Fiducia Supplicans without officially revoking it. At the same time, he could start clearly preaching the Church’s doctrine again on sexuality, the family, and the indissolubility of marriage. He might even end up canonizing both Leo XIII and Francis as part of the same initiative, which in some ways resembles the joint canonization of Pius IX and John XXIII in 2000—the former being conservative and anti-modernist, while the latter was progressive and disobeyed Our Lady’s request regarding the Third Secret. What I'm offering here is my own prognosis based on Pope Leo’s statements, which seem to frame Francis as at least a good pope, even as his actions point in a different direction. It's not exactly the kind of pontificate many of us were hoping for, but perhaps it will take him many years to undo what his predecessor did—relying solely on the strength of his ministry and, perhaps, some kind of divine intervention. Honestly, it seems to me that he is trying to hold back a schism. The issue of the weight of the German Church, which our friend Steve mentioned, is one of the most discouraging things I’ve come across. It feels like we’ve reached a point where financial concerns are undermining the defense of orthodoxy within the Church.
Be careful this is not AI. Taylor Marshall warns there are all sorts of AI you tube purporting to be Pope Leo XIV. They can duplicate his voice exactly. Check the official Vatican website--suggests Taylor Marshall.
I think it is A.I. The Pope would not say to write your city "in the comments below" or "share this with one other person" It is a deceptive A.I. channel set up to get views which produces revenue, and possibly to garner personal information on faithful Catholics.
