I'm doing very well -thanks God- just lacking time to keep up and catch up with so much being thrown at us by life ....
Praying much, which is my duty, and looking forward to some sanity to return to humanity.

Since God is in charge, I pray, hope, and I'm excited to be part of the time God chose for me to be born into. Also trying to do my little part in Our Blessed Mother's team.

Thank you for posting this. I am deeply shocked and saddened by the fact that the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer have been kicked out of New Zealand. I have tried to do what I can, by offering my prayers and by contacting the Bishops here in New Zealand, but to no avail.

Our family attended the oratory of the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer when we lived in Christchurch in 2015-2016. Our firstborn son was baptised by Fr. Celestine. The beautiful baptism certificate is now on the wall in my son's room. We received marriage counselling from Fr. Anthony Mary. Our marriage has lasted for over ten years, and despite difficulties we are growing stronger and our family life is wonderful. I have also received counselling in confession from the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer. In short, they have provided many valuable spiritual fruits.

The Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer had a property in Christchurch, with the oratory, monks' housing, and a parish hall on it. I once helped there a bit during a building/renovation project. The Sons later bought another property near Geraldine, more rural, more akin to their vocation as monks. Now, I suppose they had to give up their properties and leave the country. What tremendous hardship!

We were friends with many of the families attending the oratory. One family in particular was close to us. They are very holy, intelligent, and hardworking people. They had a little farm and home-schooled their kids. One of their sons nearly beat me at chess when he was just about six years old. Another one of their sons was a very talented violinist, with a promising music career ahead of him. He already gave concerts in Auckland and overseas at a very young age. He gave it all up to join the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer as a monk, only to be kicked out of his Christchurch home diocese, and perhaps the entire country, by the Bishop a few years later.

This is such a crying shame. My heart breaks. This situation appears to be possibly injustice, done unto this Holy Order by the Bishop of Christchurch and the Vatican.

We need to be strong in faith and in prayer and sacrifice for our Church. And besides that, whatever everyone can do to defend our faith as it was given to us from the beginning.

 

Thank you for this update which indicates the issues involving the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer make my initial evaluation of the situation not fully false, but dubious and less clear. I'm back to wait and see. More prayers.

Thank you for this elaborate posting. I appreciate it.

I am aware of the allegations you have quoted here. I am not sure what to make of them. Whether these allegations are true or untrue or exaggerated, I cannot judge. All I know is that holy Catholic tradition seems to have enemies who perhaps sometimes go to great lengths, including libel. I am not necessarily saying this is the case here. I am simply speaking from general experience.

Our family has spiritually benefitted from the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer during the one and a half years we spent in Christchurch. We did not become aware of any abuse or significant wrongdoing during our time at the Oratory.

Regarding exorcisms, as I said before, they are basically prayers to expel demons. There is generally nothing wrong with that, I would say. Some movie pictures and court cases have perhaps painted exorcisms in a distorted light, and this may have influenced the public opinion.

It is clear that the charism and spirituality of the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer is tougher than that of the average Catholic. They are monks, stemming from Papa Stronsay, an Island in the Northern Atlantic, cold and wet. I think the world's culture that we are living in today has become soft and spoiled, and a bit more penance would do us good. I am including myself here, as I am a bit weak and soft, struggling with simple fasting and discipline, for example. During confession at the Oratory it was once suggested to me to pray my Rosaries whilst sitting on my hands. This is a mild form of corporal penance, not at all comparable to what monks put themselves through in the middle ages, for example. I see nothing wrong with the suggestion that was given to me.

Those who do not appreciate the spirituality of the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer do not have to go there. They can easily attend another Catholic parish. I do not quite understand the need to go to the worldly media with an aim to punish a Holy Order of monks.

My impression is that some level of injustice may be at play here in kicking the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer out of the Christchurch diocese. This may effectively mean that they have to leave the country. I am not sure. In any case, the punishment seems harsh to me. As far as I know, the only other places the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer have on this planet are their monastery on Papa Stronsay, a remote island off Scotland, and a place in the U.S.A. Ultimately, I cannot judge this case. I am not in a position to do so and do not know all the facts.

All I can say is that my heart goes out to the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer and their families. I will include them in our family Rosaries again, as I often do with all forum members here.

Yes I do remember that young man who was entering the Sons as a seminarian. He was a very talented violinist and used to playing his violin for many hours a day. He said he would miss his violin but his heart and his will was totally devoted to God and he was willing to make that sacrifice for God.

Yes, here is a short and beautiful television documentary that shows this young Brother and violinist. It also shows Father Anthony Mary and others of the Holy Order. I am watching it now, it is good to see the heavenly little Oratory again.

It is so good to hear Fr. Michael Mary. Well explained. I am listening and will continue. Thank you for posting this.

 

The tone of this letter is unsettling. I could not imagine any saint I've ever learned about (many of whom were persecuted by their bishops) speaking with such bitterness and defiance.

Something to keep in mind is that when we die, Jesus probably will not ask us what Mass we attended to determine how fit we are for Heaven, but we WILL be judged on our humility and obedience.

 

Obedience is everything in the Spiritual Life.

It's just as simple as that. As Jesus said we must obey those who sit in the Chair of Moses.

I see what you are saying. I understand where you are coming from. You may be right or wrong, I am not sure.

You mentioned obedience. I agree this is of utmost importance.

But obedience is owed to God, primarily. The Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer are basically saying that the Catholic Church has been usurped from within and is now a shell, no longer in line with the community of saints that have gone before us. In other words, we may be facing a man-made and demonic "After-Church", in the words of Blessed Anna Katharina Emmerich. The After-Church, according to Bl. Emmerich, takes over the Holy Catholic Church, whilst the real Catholic Church continues to exist in small pockets. The After-Church pretends to be the Catholic Church but is not.

The view of the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer is roughly in line with what Archbishop Vigano says. It is a question of fact, to be thoroughly considered. Prophecy has warned us about this situation, for example the before-mentioned Anna K. Emmerich.

To ponder this question, I recommend watching the video by Fr. Michael Mary which has been posted here. I have not finished watching it at this point.

Fr. Michael Mary presents factual evidence as to why the Holy Catholic Church may be in a state of hostile takeover sonce the 'election' of 'Pope Francis'. I am not necessarily going down that route, but I would say it may have some merits.

I am unable to take a clear position at this point. I can see both sides.

One wants to avoid heresy, but one also wants to avoid schism. I am quite happy with the SSPX-position "recognise and resist", which achieves both. We recognise the Pope to avoid schism, whilst we resist any heresy coming from the hierarchy of the Holy Catholic Church. I am not sure if this a solution. We are in a state of diabolical disorientation. Only Our Good Lord and His Holy Mother can help us now.

If you are not obedient to Rome and your local Bishop then who are you obedient to? If the answer is I am directly obedient to God then I don't see any difference between the argument of Martin Luther. Luther said the Church had become corrupt and we no longer owed it obedience. Aren't these people really saying the exact same thing?

The only reason why we might refuse obedience would be if we were ordered to do something that was actually evil as for instance if they ordered us to work in and Abortion Mill. But this is not happening here.

Padre Pio is a good example here. Look at how he was persecuted but he was always, always obedient.

 

Yes, it is aggressive, yet they are rejecting specifically the papacy of Franics and heretical actions being performed by the bishops of their area. How scandalous, their bishop received ashes from the Angelican bishop on Ash Wednesday!! The Angelican religion was begun because a king wanted his cake and to eat it too! How can a Catholic bishop receive ashes from that charlatan??

Yes, of course, it is fine line to walk. I can see where you are coming from. But undeniably, the Holy Catholic Church has beeen slowly introducing heresy and protestantism. I recommend watching the video by Fr. Michael Mary. I am still not finished watching it. Time for the Rosary now.

If we only had to be obedient to those we agreed with it would be a strange kind of obedience.

Regarding your question, may I please kindly suggest to you to watch the interview given by Fr. Michael Mary, posted by Sunnyveil in this thread. It has all the answers, but I cannot possibly type them out in just a few words.

Having watched the video by Fr. Michael Mary now, I am glad to hear that it appears they are staying in New Zealand, at least for now.

Coming back to your question, when 'Pope Francis' claimed that Catholics have a moral obligation to take the experimental genetic manipulations called 'Covid-vaccines', partially derived from aborted children, did you obey? These 'vaccines' have caused significant excess mortality. Now, the spiritual excess mortality (eternal loss of souls) caused by modernism is much more grave than the physical excess mortality caused by the 'vaccines'.

We are living in times of diabolical disorientation. It is sad and exciting at the same time. To stay the course is not easy. I know this may sound like a mere slogan, but our situation in these end times is in fact complicated. I am glad I attend an SSPX-chapel, because their "recognise and resist"-approach seems to be a good compass for orientation in our difficult times.

I don't quite know what else to say to you regarding your question. I can understand where you are coming from. At the same time, I find Fr. Michael Mary's interview convincing, and I am very sympathetic to their Holy Order.
