This is awful. I hope it ends soon. Zoomers in the US are now beginning to lament how 28% of their generation has been murdered. It is a sorrowful and devaluing feeling knowing that your peers weren't valued. Valued so little that they weren't even given a chance to live.
Have you noticed how, in our modern materialistic/atheistic/hedonistic society that denies God and often mocks the Bible and religious stories, all those occult things, horror movies, ghosts, and various dangerous diabolical games ultimately films like The Exorcist and others with similar themes are actually very, very appealing and attract a lot of interest? There are very few atheists who truly deny and remain completely indifferent to everything supernatural. Most of them are actually quite curious about such things; they just don’t like the part about God the rules, laws, and principles that believers are supposed to follow. So, it’s easier to deny God than to be a believer... However, it remains true that people in general are strongly drawn by curiosity toward the supernatural, even if it’s something occult and many fall into the trap without even realizing what they’ve done, sometimes out of pure curiosity or just for fun. One of our teachers told us about a game like that, where they tried to summon spirits as teenagers, and then a name appeared on the board. Everyone thinks it’s fun — until it stops being fun.
Precisely. You can fool around with such dangers and its "all in good fun" until the enemy appears and then its terrifying.
Ironic that you bring up The Exorcist in this post, because I can still remember that the demonic possession depicted in that film started when the girl was playing around with an occult Ouija board.
It is simply a sin against the first commandment of God’s law. Within the human being there is a longing for transcendence and, therefore, a desire to know the supernatural mystery that underpins existence. The most accurate example is found in the Bible, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the tablets of the Law and found the Jewish people worshiping a golden calf. That’s how we are; foolish and confused. We manufacture idols such as cartomancy, horoscopes, divination, Ouija boards, spiritualism, tarot, ancestor worship, witchcraft, yoga, transcendental meditation, etc. There are even those who place their faith in technology, money, and power. That is the preternatural influence of the devil. The prophets of the Old Testament were responsible for instructing us in the Truth and announcing the coming of the Messiah. It was with the arrival of Christ that man was able to know the Truth. It’s not that there’s some hidden truth out there; it’s that the Truth for Man is Jesus Christ himself, both man and God at the same time. He is Truth personified and taught us what the only way was. Which one? He is the only way. Our task is to imitate Him, because man can only access Life thru Him. There is nothing that grants us eternal life (the only one worth having) except Him. No one comes to the Father by any other way. The first commandment speaks of love for Love. From love to the One who sent His own Son so that we may live. When a person does not love Love and loves idols, they have understood nothing or have refused to understand. Love is God, and we participate in His love. A mother cannot love her child without participating in that Love. It is a gift from the Father. Our spirit is designed to love and be filled with Love. The devil, the flesh, and the world are our enemies in that regard. Our original sin prevents us from seeing this issue clearly.
Lord, pour out a spirit of repentance upon the nation of Great Britain, that their tears of shame and regret may stave off Your just sentence! So, so diabolical!
I have noticed that my social media feeds are filled with filler as of late. It has always been like this to a degree, but it is more so now. Anyone else experiencing the same thing.
I’ve been reading quite a bit lately… It’s not just that without them there wouldn’t have been communism, not only that they were the carriers of communism in the USSR, Germany, and the USA—where they committed genocides—but they also enabled the USSR to spread communism to China by sponsoring it through the United States. In my view, they are now implementing a reversed form of communism not militarily, but through a cultural revolution. Economically, they operate the same way as in the original communism, only now through various funds like BlackRock, creating a monopoly over wealth controlled by the “party” at the top of the pyramid. Politicians are merely actors they sponsor; through the media, they create an image for them and bring them to power. What matters is PR how they look and speak, not what they actually say. To control the opposition, they always have scandals, media lynching, blackmail—and thus, one country after another falls under control. Trump is probably the biggest deception in a long time. Perhaps during his last term he had some freedom, but now he’s completely under their control. It’s not just that a network of pedophiles is being protected hundreds of them, with children abused under the protection of the Israeli government—but also the attacks on Iran, Yemen, Syria, the sponsorship of the war in Ukraine, and by all indications, they’re moving toward Venezuela, which has the world’s largest oil reserves not under their control. It’s interesting that the puppet governments being prepared, which used to show loyalty only to the U.S., are now bowing to Israel. Not only the Argentine president, but also the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner, María Corina Machado, who supports Israel’s actions in Gaza, openly calls for a U.S. attack on Venezuela, and says her first step will be moving the embassy to Jerusalem. Even Zelensky said that Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize if he sends him long-range missiles capable of striking Moscow. You really have to wonder if anyone’s sane anymore or if everyone’s gone mad. The essence of it all is that we’re just waiting a few more days, maybe a few weeks at most, for the U.S. to deploy forces for an attack on Venezuela. Of course, the goal isn’t to topple the regime as such, but primarily the oil. The same goes for Nigeria it’s not about Christians or any of those other excuses.
In fairness, it is a well-reasoned document. Our Lady is still "The Mother of God". Personally, I have rarely heard of people using the term co-Redemptrix in relation to Our Lady and I can see how the term can be seen as 'over-the-top'. For myself, I think there's an element of special pleading involved and that, while she holds the dignity and status as the holiest and greatest of all creatures, she perhaps should not be granted equal status with Her Creator. I don't like Cardinal Fernandez, but I can't find much fault with this. The man who is reported as interrupting him did not help his own cause.
I've had a rethink on this. I focussed my previous reply on the 'co-Redemtrix' and completely forgot about the 'Mediatrix' title. For the life of me, I can't see how Our Lady ought not receive that title. Every time we say the Hail Mary, we ask her to intercede for us, to be our mediator with her Son. Was she not a mediator on behalf of the wedding family at Cana? Are not all the saints mediators on our behalf? It's my undertstanding that the souls in Purgatory can mediate on our behalf, though not on their own. So, I can't understand that one. Why can't the Holiest Creature of all be granted the title of Mediatrix from among all the holy mediators? It has been the belief of the vast majority of Catholics throughout the ages that Our Lady has the greatest power and ability among all His creatures to intercede with God. How does the title 'Mediatrix' conflict with this belief?
