Please God I will get back to the subject on a new thread sometime. I believe in a Jesus Christ and His word, in the Father and the Holy Spirit. When it comes to other matters such as how things work in the world and Creationism vs. Evolution I am agnostic. I am a skeptic and a doubting Thomas. I very much want Creationism and the Biblical world view to be true as it makes Faith much simpler. I have a feeling that there is an Elan Vitale which orders and processes all things in nature, not just an innate potential in the molecules. This 'elan vitale' comes from the spirit of God and is administered by His angels. But neither I nor you have convinced me that Creationism is true. That could be due to ignorance on my part. If Creationism is false then I would fall into the Theistic Evolution camp. I am not a trojan horse for an aetheistic ideology. But as Christopher Hitchens, Stehpen Fry and Alex O' Conor have articulated, it causes more problems related to Theodicy and suffering in the world as well as the Genesis accounts. God is the original mathematician and I do believe it should be possible to answer the question using numbers. But nature is so complex that we have to resort to using statistics and then we run into the problem of "statistics, damned statistics and lies". Perhaps as Pádraig said, there are things God never intended us to know. Keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. The root and the nexus of the whole problem is this. The closer we look into nature and God's creation the more complexity we see. Science in general is the search for simplifying laws and rules which underlie and direct the observed phenomena. Biology is very complex indeed. But Evolutionists are forced into tolerating very complex models with many parameters. One thing they will not do is tolerate a model which is more complex than the phenomena which they are trying to explain. But God is infinitely complex and that is why they feel they must exclude God.

They can't remove the suffering, only increase it by subtracting our Hope that God will somehow recompense, even if that seems impossible this side of Death. For the record, I'm not a (young Earth) Creationist. I confess to being a Creationist, in that I believe God made the whole shooting match, however He did it. The specifics aren't available in Genesis, but since even modern science is merely tinkering on the low foothills, was it likely that God would reveal what is unquestionably the astonishing modus operandi of His wonderful Universe to a bunch of uncomprehending, uneducated goat-herds? I was talking to my husband about how the revealing of this evil is happening but without our ability to really do anything about it (obviously prayer, but I mean what is the average Joe going to do about all this other than have their imagination filled with horror and disgust?). And I thought that perhaps God is allowing this revealing of evil just to help the general population understand WHY when His chastisements come. So that even the simple and the non-religious will know that He is a just God, and not just be afraid of Him.

As well, when it comes to interpreting scripture the church has likely only scratched the surface. It's like St. Aquinas wanting to burn the entire body of his writings after his experience with God. His writings are amazing, but are straw compared to the glory of God. So who truly knows what is actually going on in Genesis?

I was just thinking about the Epstein Files last night. I notice that despite the large number of people mentioned and that they were clearly indulging in paedophilia no one as far as I know has been arrested even for questioning? Another thing I was thinking of is why is there so little anger even outrage about all this anywhere? I remember how outraged the media were when the Catholic clerical child abuse scandal broke, but now everything is as quiet as a cemetery. The saddest thing is I believe no one expects anyone to be charged. They are all too rich and powerful.

This is excellent. I think too that in an almost final act of mercy God allows us to see the true depth of evil in order to convert unbelievers and to deepen our trust in Him. If this degree of evil exists perhaps Satan and the demons do too, so there must also be a good God. It appears to be the Apocalypse, the great revealing.
