Hi beautiful souls, I was recently informed that my nephew (17 years old) has decided to start going to a local parish and wants to learn more about Catholicism and become Catholic. He has a complicated back story and was not raised Catholic, but when I was in town I used to take him to Mass with me and I think it rubbed off. I am currently in the process of helping get him a good Catholic Bible to read as he has an old protestant one that he acquired. I'm thinking the great adventure bible would be a good start and the CCC book. He did happen to see a photo of my Ignatius Study Bible that I shared with my mom and was very intrigued, but I think that might be a bit much for him starting out. I would appreciate any prayers that can be offered up for his continued conversion. God Bless you all and happy Easter!
Praying today. The amount of conversions to the Faith at the moment is mind blowing. All over the World especially amongst the young and Protestant Pastors, Muslims too. Prayers at Santiago Cathedral.
Our Fr. Chris spoke about the number of conversions in the world at Easter Mass. It would appear that finally the word is getting out. Praise be to God, Alleluia! I'll be praying for your nephew..
Update: Mid conversation (ME): Also, if you can get a copy of "The Catechism Of The Catholic Church" that will cover all of the church teachings and be a good reference for you. I think I have one I can give to you if you want it. (Nephew):Oh if you could mail me that then, yes please (Me): I hope school is going well. I got the package sent today. I also included a few other books as well as a pocket catholic bible (catholic bibles have more books than protestant Bibles) He hearted those on text then I sent this: (ME): Also, if you ever have any questions feel free to ask and if I don't know I'll find out for you. (Nephew): Awesome, thank you! I really appreciate this! (ME): Don't feel pressured this is all on your terms. I think you will have a great time learning the Bible and about the Catholic faith though. (Nephew): Thank you! I think I will too I’m very excited I also sent him a link to Father Schmitz's Bible in a year podcast as his pocket bible is the Ignatius RSV2CE which is the same and sent him a link to Father Schmitz's catechism in a year podcast as well. (I sent him the Ascension edition of the catechism) I also sent him a book called "Inside The Bible" by Ignatius press that gives you a great summary of all of the books. He is really passionate and excited! Thank you for your prayers! May God Bless all you beautiful souls!
