PRAYER FOR IRELAND: PRAYER FOR MY PERSONAL HOLINESS Lord, I call your power, grace mercy and holiness upon Ireland, my beloved nation. I call upon the power of grace-filled repentance and conversion for myself, my people, our nation. Start with me Lord Jesus; I turn back to you, I am sorry for my offences against you, or my neighbour. I forgive anyone in my life that I need to forgive. (*pause for a moment. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring to your memory anyone you need to forgive – and chose to forgive them). I hail you as Christ my King. Grant that we, as a nation, once again hail you as Christ the King. You came to give us ‘life to the full’. You are ‘the Way, the Truth and the Life’ (John 14:6) Fill me with grace, holiness, light, wisdom, strength, knowledge, understanding, gift of counsel, fortitude, piety and fear of the Lord. Fill me with the fruits of the Holy Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, humility & self-control. Activate fully in me the charisms you have bestowed upon me at baptism. Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, St. Patrick, and all you Irish saints and martyrs, pray for me; pray for Ireland.
