Yes, I'm getting fuzzy around the edges and will probably step down from intensive ministry in another few years.:notworthy::love:

No harm in scaling back. Then you will find yourself in another one of God's seasons.:)

I was watching President Trump a short while ago. I think he was talking the University of Georgia. I thought he did not look well. Also his speech sounded slurred. He sounded a bit rambling. Not as bad as sleepy Joe Biden but still.

If God permits us to live a little longer it must be for a reason. A good part of this is to have time to scrub our pots and get set for Judgement time. I do not envy him.

In another few years Geralyn and I will probably vacate the snow belt (one season) and move close to one of our distant children and their family (a warmer season).:D No matter the chosen destination, I hope to share it with my beautiful bride!

The Sacrament of confession alone would make it worthwhile being a Catholic. Padre Pio recommended it once a week. I so wish I could do this. Someone asked Padre Pio if once a week was not too much. Padre Pio said if a house does not need cleaned it always needs dusted.:):)

He also said we should say an act of contrition before saying the rosary. Wonderful advice. I have been doing this recently with great results.

I am currently reading Animal Farm by George Orwell. It is about communism and is very good. My second time reading it.

    This is so very interesting.

Solomon is perhaps one of the greatest characters in the Old Testament that has always left me befuddled. Because of the first reading in Sunday’s Mass this last weekend, the whole mystery of his kingship sent me down the same, confusing rabbit hole once more.

I wonder if maybe God wanted to show through Solomon that even the greatest amount of wisdom a person on earth can have can't prevent one from falling into sin. It's quite the warning that we need to never be sure of ourselves and constantly beg God for help--to preserve our Faith and help us avoid sin.

It also shows that we can't just know enough about God and all the right things; we have to give Him our humble heart and really love Him. But then you think of David, the one in the Old Testament who was a man "after God's own heart," and see how even he fell and committed adultery. Our own love and wisdom are not enough to keep us close to God. God alone can help and preserve us.
