Yesterday, AED posted this quote about Evil militating to the absurd. And the thought dawned on me that the restrainer mentioned in scripture maybe isn't meant to protect us. Maybe it's meant to protect people inclined to doing evil, to stop themselves from going too far. To stop the demons they are oppressed by from going too far.

God isn't worried about the saved, but the lost. But eventually God has enough and lets them spiral out of control, demons and all. And when I look at the parasite class, that's exactly what I see. Theater of the absolute absurd. Unrestrained absurdity.

And, while all of this is going on unrestrained the parasite class thinks it's winning. Thinks it's in control, meanwhile it's also militating to its own doom.

No one knows for sure who or what the Restrainer is, but it is fun guessing. :) It is true that evil has reached a new level. It no longer seeks secrecy but does things way out in the open and actually boasts about and is proud of them.

But Catholic thinkers have very often considered that the Restrainer is either the Church itself or St Michael the Arcangel. Since St Michael is Guardian of the Church I suppose we are pretty well talking about the same thing.

I used to consider the Future of the World and the Future of the Church as two separate things. But they are not whatever happens in the Church effects the World. I judge with the Election of Pope Frankie the Restrainer was indeed lifted and under Pope Leo this continues and is even much, much worse day by day.

It reminds me of a dam that holds back a tidal wave of filth. At first there is a tiny leak but them it gets bigger and bigger then the whole dam fall down. Now we are being drowned in Filth from all sides.

It is a great, great honour to live in these Dark Days. Those who can keep the Faith are highly highly blessed.

It seems it will get much darker and dystopian when they introduce programmable money, which will give them full control if they abolish cash.

They have a lot of control already. I reckon it is almost impossible to live without a bank account today.

If we think about the future the way things are going, it might easily cause us to despair or at least severely loss our Peace. But I find it a great source of consolation considering the Holy Family in Nazareth. A life of great simplicity close to the soil in a little village in the middle of nowhere. Surely God is calling us all to a return to this. If they could do it surely we can too.

But what can we do but abandon ourselves into the Arms of the Good God and rely on Him to take care of us?

I find Mother Angelica a great example in all this. She really did throw herself into the arms of the Lord with a vengeance, bless her.:)

I was just walking saying the rosary this morning in the woods that I could not live where I live and do what I do without daily mass and constant prayer.

    It would be impossible.

You are a good example because you left urban life for rural life.

That in itself is a message from our Lady.

That is why decide for God so that it may be good for you on the land which God gave you. Thank you for having responded to my call.

  8. Very true, we have become slaves to our cellphones/computers, to the internet, to the television, abundance of food, and to our family and friends' numerous celebrations...

Adam was connected to the ground & nature by God’s command to till the ground.

By reconnnecting to nature we see the handiwork of God our creator. It is easy to pray when we observe a tree, a flower, a river the majesty of God the artist.

Modernism enslaves with its addictions to technologies, scrolling, entertainments, distactions distancing us from God. How clever the enemy is. he harvests many souls by the allures of sloth & sins of the flesh.

Take time each day to observe, smell, touch and reconnect to nature. Pray that we may learn to enjoy the simple things of life. Let our works be prayer and our prayer be from the heart.

Padraig's call to rural life in Spain is a witness to our Ladys call to flee modernism.

  10. actually, I was surprised that they didn't ban cash during the pandemic because germs can pass from hands to hands, maybe it is because their digital money infrastructure was not yet in place then.

But in their future pandemics, they might have the excuse to finally ban paper cash and will mandate all people to go digital money. Their next "deadly virus" will be their excuse.

My neighbour erected a poly tunnel a few years ago and grew lots of different varieties of tomatoes. She brought some of them to shows. She would get manure for them from a local farmer. This year however all of her tomatoes died and it turned out the problem was in the farmer's manure. He had used a different type of fertiliser on his meadows.

It's been amazing to me, in these last 3 years I've lived in the country, how every day when I'm working in the garden or tending the young trees or taking care of the birds, as I pray, all of these spiritual metaphors spring into my mind based on what I'm doing outside. Most often it's when I'm pulling weeds  but lately as I look around me and see the huge garden and all of the numerous new fruit and shade trees and the healthy grass from hours and hours of mowing, I keep hearing in my mind the verses of the Bible about the talents, and being good stewards, about God reaping where He does not sow... About taking what God gives us and, with His help and a lot of work, making a return on it so that He may make our lives fruitful like this land has become.

Even the gophers coming to steal plants that I worked so hard to plant and care for has been a great lesson about how we give God our efforts in humility and detachment, knowing all fruit is His. The Lord gives and He takes away and blessed is His Name.

I find by praying rounds in the Divine Will on all of creation especially when I'm working in the garden or walking the dog brings me to a deeper awareness and appreciation of how God created everything out of love for mankind. Every little thing, like a leaf blowing in a light breeze is an expression of his love for me.

Jason, there was at least one medical office near us that would not accept cash for copay payments. It had to be a card.

We had all kinds of places near us during Covid that had signs up saying to please not pay in cash because there was a coin shortage.

This has been me in a nutshell for the past 5 years. :D
When we moved to our property which had been abandoned for a good 10 years the first thing I had to do was eradicate the bamboo. Such a long process which I am still dealing with. Their roots spread underground and can pop up at will. It's been an enormous analogy for sin!
Recently I reflect on how the chosen people came to claim the land. After 4 years of care and work my trees occasionally give me some produce and my Barbera is actually giving more than a handfull of grapes! God said to them you shall have vineyards and orchards that you have not cared for! I reflect on how that feels, nothing like walking into a well-tended garden in the middle of summer that you have not labored for, what a gift! Another example of how much God loves us and wants to shower us with His gifts.

I have noticed the last six months when shopping at Aldi's I cannot get nearly the variety of foods I used to get. Of course they are the
ones that are imported from Europe. This must be having a significant impact on those countries.
And prices keep going up. I am not a math or finance guru, but I wonder why the stock market keeps
going up. Inflation is up, there is no doubt about it. Housing costs are skyrocketing, I don't know how the
younger people with families are making ends meet.
I am so happy my little garden is starting to produce, for now the drought is over, and tonight
we have flood watches posted. It's going to rain all week . . .
