My oldest son developed his tendency to get anxiety headaches during Covid, something that still plagues him to this day. He was 7 at the time, and one day early on during Covid, when we got home from the grocery store (basically our only outing besides Mass), he had a terrible headache. Then again the next time, and the next... When I realized that his headaches were coming from going to the grocery store, I talked with him and found out that he was so afraid of all the people in masks...They made him feel there was Covid all in the store and that he was catching Covid every time we were there. His headaches were so bad he would get sick repeatedly and be unable to eat for a day or two. That was the moment my husband and I swore we would never wear masks again (we never put them on our children because the "rules" didn't require it).

It took 2 or 3 times of going to the store with no masks (and being glared and scowled at by most of the people there) for my son to finally relax and stop getting headaches from it. By finding out that we could walk around unmasked in a place where everyone else was masked and have nothing bad happen to us, he finally realized that he didn't have to be afraid.

So yeah, I saw firsthand the psychological damage to children caused by masked faces.

 

Yes, the fear-mongering was intense, especially in the beginning. The powers-that-be took advantage of that; I remember it well. At that point in time, I was serving almost exclusively in hospitals and nursing home. One of the residents from Iroquois Nursing home, whom I knew well, ended up with covid and was placed in isolated intensive care at Upstate Hospital. My supervisor there instructed me not to visit him. I expressed my opinion that spiritual care was just as important, if not more so, than medical care; he was probably more fearful than we were, and that I was going. She acquiesced. He passed away not long afterward, but I was able to call and reassure his wife that he had received Holy Communion.

Thank you for this thread and for reminding me to forgive these monsters. Christ shed his blood for them as well as for me, full stop. I need to remember that. Especially because we had a close friend recently die suddenly and I never thought to pray for him. I still feel so stupid. I can't look at his picture my husband placed on our bookshelves.

Regarding masks, I wore them when we went to the grocery stores. I didn't take the kids because I didn't want them to live the dystopian reality. So I was okay with wearing masks, it was to get in and out without making a fuss.
For my children most of their life was normal, in Holland they weren't required to wear masks and we kept up with social visits. When we moved back to Italy it was a bit different. It was however a perfect excuse to continue homeschooling, no way I was going to send my children to wear a mask on their face 8 hours in a day! But when Italy was hit with the green card I was flat out mad. Mad at all the idiots who lined up to get the injection despite it being clearly anti-constitutional! And here, I observed people fell into two camps- those who got it to go to work and those who wanted to move about freely in society like going to the movies, or cafès and restaurants. That's what annoyed me the most, people who got it for comfort. We were the only ones in my husband's family who didn't get the shot. Then when Italy pulled out the over 50 rule my husband was close to caving. We had lots of fights in that period. Psychological, I felt like I was living I an insane asylum.
If I hadn't been praying the rosary I don't know how I would have come out of it all.

Terry, that was courageous and i believe a form of martyrdom. You not only helped that man and his family but were a witness of Christ to many.

I remember our parish priest never locked the broken Church door during Covid. He said I say Mass here every morning and under God's rules, he would never stop someone from attending. I also remember the real pain in his voice when he said how it upset him that he was not considered an "essential " worker. He shouted from altar as He held Jesus in his hands, what could be more essential than this! Its a moment I will never forget

 

I think he was. I remember seeing him on the Mike Douglas show as a kid. I remember my mom being so frightened. But the truth is scarey.

 

We have to forgive. But I think we would be very foolish to forget. I suspect they are going to have a rerun of all this awful, evil nonsense once again.

We must remember.

We are owed an apology from the Vatican.

Yes. This explains it. Fr Ripperger has said on record that they have proof this occurred. The collapse of the Catholic Church happened so rapidly and the diabolic disorientation was so intense among nuns and priests there had to be an explanation. Satan was given great power.
