Reminds me of a little known apparition in County Down; for newer members the link is below. https://motheofgod.com/threads/our-lady-of-the-hill.1595/#post-172629
Thanks Jackzokay, Kathleen's story, though sad in many ways, is very uplifting. She was indeed a wonderful young girl. Kathleen, little Saint of Achill Island, pray for us.
I have started sending A prayer to sweet Kathleen daily!!! Between this angel and Sister Clare, I'm sure many miracles will follow.
I am grateful to know about Kathleen. I have a troubled 12 year old granddaughter. I am going to start asking Kathleen to help her. Thank you Dave for so faithfully giving us all this good information.
Thanks AED, prayers for your granddaughter. I'm sure Kathleen will help her, I think she's just waiting to be asked.
Yes. I've started praying to her too. We visited Achil Island a few years back. So I have a small connection there...
For the past eight weeks or so a small group in the parish has been meeting on tuesday evening. The initial focus was to watch a series of videos of Father Raniero Cantalamesa called 'New Life in Christ'. As you probably know he was the preacher to the Papal household for over forty years, including Popes John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis. He's a very inspiring speaker. When the series of videos finished there was a feeling in the group that we should continue to meet in whatever way seemed appropriate. Last week we outlind a general format and this evening was the first of the new meetings. We had agreed that prayer should be a fundamental part of the time together and some sharing of instances of faith related experiences that people may have had during the week or other times that came to mind. There were some interesting things shared and I felt it appropriate to mention the thread here about Kathleen and the responses to her story and promise to help when she passed into her life beyond this valley of tears, as it is for so many. Without mentioning anything specific I said that there had been several responses from people who felt that Kathleen had heard their prayer and responded positively to the requests for her intercession. It's quite extraordinary that a young girl, who in the eyes of the world would be considered unremarkable can reach out almost eighty years after her death in a remote part of Ireland and connect with people on the forum, some from America, others closer physically but still at a great remove from her circumstances. May her story reach even further and allow her to bring the help and comfort she promised and wants to give. Kathleen, little Saint of Achill Island, pray for us.
From Kathleen Kilbane and Other Child Saints fb page: "Here is my latest film--It tells of the Marian apparitions at Kerrytown, Co. Donegal. Our Holy Mother, Mary, first appeared to the Ward family in the winter of 1939. They lived in a humble cottage out in the deep countryside, and beside their home was a 15-foot rock where Our Lady appeared. Many people witnessed her appearances over the years, including the local Priest, Canon John McAteer. In the film we hear in the witnesses' own words what they experienced, and I have tried to recreate what they saw. The film also shows Kerrytown today and how and why it has remained an important destination for thousands of pilgrims from all over the world. Click on the link below, which will take you to YouTube to watch the film. For the best viewing experience, watch the film on a Smart/Internet TV if you have one. Dominic Kennedy."
