Can someone help me on this question.

Love covers a multitude of sins. Loving God above all else for His own sake. Real love. That's what the souls in Purgatory are having to learn, as their self-love is burned away and their hearts are set more and more on fire with love for God.

 

Purgatory is such a mystery. Although we are given some little mysteries into it as from Scripture, Our Holy Mother the Church and the writings of the mystics.

I would say life itself is a purgatory as we are cleansed in this life towards true holiness so we may stand in the presence of the All Holy without getting burnt in His presence.

If, then we do not attain this holiness in this life we must do so in the life to come. In purgatory.

However in this life we move forward by Faith and this is a powerful instrument of change. Also of shade from the sun of God's justice.

But in the life to come we no longer move forward by Faith for we see God directly as He sees us. Nor do we have anywhere to hide in shade of His dreadful love. We can no longer pray for ourselves but rely on the charity of others.

But we have the infinite consolation , which we do not usually have on Earth, of knowing we are saved. This means everything.

But purgatory is not the same for all. There are several levels. I think this leads to a lot of confusion in the descriptions of those who have been permitted to visit.

But I think the great take away may be we don't have to go there. It is our own choice really.

 

God is very,very,very merciful but he is also very,very very just.

We should rejoice in His Justice just as much as we rejoice in His mercy. Men have long,. long since forgotten this.
