    I truly am, right now in Udine, the land of my Italian ancestors. BTW Udine is the best city in Italy I have visited yet. The city is open, clean, beautiful and not crowded. The people are bright eyed too.

    I take prepping advice with a grain of salt, even bottled water is pricey. When I see items on sale I pick them up and put them away, I have several mouths to feed anyway. We don't own generators or any expensive survival gadgets and equipment, we have a fireplace and a gas stove. I agree, none of it matters. If we find ourselves in dire circumstances our survival is up to God.

    Thanks for the honey reminder, always a good thing to have on hand especially during the winter months. :)

    Having a fireplace will be a luxury if the power goes out! We have wood prepared for ours just in case.

    We rarely use it, but we press it into service when we lose power during winter storms. It has saved the day on many occasions.

    We have most of our winter wood available with some already on the back porch, and are expecting two more delivered loads that will be used toward the end of March. We usually wait until the cold snap at the beginning of November before starting the first fire, though the wood stove and chimney have been cleaned and prepared.:) Then right on through to mid-April.

    Here we go again!:rolleyes::coffee:

    Unfortunately someone scammed us on wood. We paid for a cord and got 3/4 of a cord. He’s been over a month saying he will bring it and never shows up. We will have to find another source, my husband is 83 and can’t split or chainsaw anymore. We use it as auxiliary heat and if the power goes out it will heat our main floor. We are in town and not too many people have fireplaces or wood burners.

    I don't have a fireplace. :cry: That was a deal breaker for me when we were choosing our house, and they lied to us, saying they'd put the fireplace in after they built the house....but they didn't. They completely ghosted us as we tried to contact them over and over to do it. And now we don't have the funds for it anymore.

    Thankfully we live in Texas, where I can't see us freezing to death lol.

    Oh no. It’s awful when that happens! I used a camper stove for many years on our porch for canning. I think you need to worry more about staying cool.

    :( How terrible. Hopefully you will find someone reputable to supply you with wood.

    I see in parts of Russia they have pretty well run out of fuel , in Crimea and St Petersberg for instance. It is ironic there is a huge oil refinery right beside St Petersberg and they are shipping oil to the USA while oil tankers leave to the USA from the city.

    It is part of the deal with Trump to end the Ukraine War.

    The Russians are suffering too.

    You can buy artificial logs on line from Home Depot. And any stove/hearth shop. They burn clean and they do last. We are getting them to supplement our wood supply.

    I think it was a good will gesture on behalf of Russia in regards to ending the war in Ukraine. Ukraine smoked a bunch of Russian refineries ending the piece negotiations. Making Trump look worse before the midterms, because the war isn't ending. Of which, Republicans are predicted to lose, but we've seen that song and dance before.

    Now it looks like the globalists are trying to bring Poland into the mix. All the while protests are kicking off across Europe.

    Russia seems really patient.
