If we consider that the two countries were one at the time he had the vision, then yes. He could have interpreted the current conflict as an internal confrontation, a civil war, even though they are now two separate countries. However, the mention of so many bodies accumulating that they cannot all be buried seems difficult to apply to the war that began in 2022. In the case of Russia itself, however, given its enormous size and population, such a scenario seems plausible. Perhaps God will allow each of the major governments to fall, one after another, with Russia being the last, so that it can first serve as an instrument of punishment for the West and, afterward, become the source of a movement of religious revival that will spread throughout the entire world.
Luan, I appreciate your posts and updates. Things are very grave. I was praying about this at Vigil Mass this evening.
Tonight we took our kids trick-or-treating with my sister's family, in a neighborhood they recommended about 20 minutes away. Unfortunately, this year there were 3 men dressed as an evil movie character and evil clowns, walking around following kids and trying to scare them. I've never before encountered this while trick-or-treating. One clown in particular met our group and kept honking a horn in our ears, circling us and getting close to some of the cousins. My 13-year-old son had dressed as a Cardinal, in a traditional cassock, and since he is about to join the Militia of the Immaculata (he has a strong devotion to St. Maximilian Kolbe), he had brought with him some blessed Miraculous Medals to hand out to whomever he felt called to do so. Soon the evil clown walked up to my son and stood in his way, refusing to move. As I made my way over to him, I saw my son reach out and offer the clown a Miraculous Medal. He took one look at the Medal, shook his head refusing it, and backed away immediately. The whole event left a serious impression on my son. He did end up giving away 3 Miraculous Medals tonight, and we prayed for the souls of the recipients, as well as for the evil clowns.
For me as well and I am not in Europe. For you being on European soil it must be a double heart break. Prayers of reparation today.
This is so disturbing. Macabre. And dangerous. Your son is a brave boy. St Maximillian Kolbe is proud of him I am sure. Who knows what Our Lady will do with that man? Your prayers will not be in vain.
The Ecstatic of Tours prophecy dates back to the Nineteenth Century. "Before the war breaks out again, food will be scarce and expensive. There will be little work for the workers, and fathers will hear their children crying for food. There will be earthquakes and signs in the sun. Toward the end, darkness will cover the earth. When everyone believes that peace is assured, when everyone least expects it, the great happening will begin. Revolution will break out in Italy almost at the same time as in France. For some time the Church will be without a Pope." https://catholicprophecy.org/the-ecstatic-of-tours/ It seems that things will deteriorate considerably before Italy and France actually descend into civil war, almost simultaneously. Widespread famine has not yet occurred.
Blessed Anna-Maria Taigi Bl. Taigi was praised by Pope Benedict XV in her beatification on May 20, 1920 as being an exemplary wife and mother amid poor and trying circumstances. She was frequently in ecstasy, worked miracles of healing, read hearts, foretold deaths, and saw visions on the coming of future events. She foretold the first two world wars of this century. Eighteen years after her death, her body remained fresh and in a state of perfect preservation as if it had been just buried the day before. The following are some of her visions of the future. “God will send two punishments: one will be in the form of wars, revolutions and other evils; it shall originate on earth. The other will be sent from Heaven. There shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights. Nothing can be seen, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion. It will be impossible to use any man-made lighting during this darkness, except blessed candles. He, who out of curiosity, opens his window to look out, or leaves his home, will fall dead on the spot. During these three days, people should remain in their homes, pray the Rosary and beg God for mercy.” “On this terrible occasion so many of these wicked men, enemies of His Church, and of their God, shall be killed by this divine scourge, that their corpses around Rome will be as numerous as the fishes, which a recent inundation of the Tiber had carried into the city. All the enemies of the Church, secret as well as known, will perish over the whole earth during that universal darkness, with the exception of some few, whom God will soon after convert. The air shall be infested by demons, who will appear under all sorts of hideous forms. “After the three days of darkness, Saints Peter and Paul, having come down from heaven, will preach throughout the world and designate a new Pope. A great light will flash from their bodies and settle upon the cardinal, the future pontiff. Then Christianity will spread throughout the world. Whole nations will join the Church shortly before the reign of the Antichrist. These conversions will be amazing. Those who survive shall have to conduct themselves well. There shall be innumerable conversions of heretics, who will return to the bosom of the Church; all will note the edifying conduct of their lives, as well as that of other Catholics. Russia, England and China will come into the Church. “France will fall into frightful anarchy. The French people shall have a desperate civil war, in which old men themselves will take up arms. The political parties having exhausted their blood and their rage, without being able to arrive at any satisfactory understanding, shall at the last extremity agree by common consent to have recourse to the Holy See. Then the Pope shall send France a special legate, in order that he may examine the state of affairs and the dispositions of the people. In consequence of the information received, His Holiness himself shall nominate a most Christian king for the government of France… “Religion shall be persecuted, and priests massacred Churches shall be closed, but only for a short time. The Holy Father shall be obliged to leave Rome.” https://catholicprophecy.org/blessed-anna-maria-taigi/
My son is not brave by nature. He agonized and prayed for hours before we went trick-or-treating, over whether he'd be able to hand out medals to strangers. I told him God would give him the courage if He wanted him to do it. These are dark times. Who knows what our children will be up against in the near future? God will have to give our Christian children the hearts of lions.
These are dark times but through these terrible times will come miracles. Incredible guidance from our angels. I already have all prophecies just about memorized so I don't need constant reminders of the things that are coming, and I do not concentrate on the bad. Rereading depressing things are not good for us and can become obsessive. Just the Rosary and the Eucharist are all we need and we will be taken care of.
I don't think we need constant reminders of the bad things that are to come. However, as the title of this very thread suggests, there are signs of the times, which are inherently unpleasant events: plagues, earthquakes, wars, and other things that Jesus told us to watch for. This is not so that we become obsessed with tragedies, but rather so that we may recognize when the time of our deliverance is drawing near. Luke 21:28 "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh."
Catholic prophecies are, in a sense, always a way of reaffirming what has already been foretold in the Book of Revelation. They speak of terrible events that are reiterated through various private revelations across different eras, always calling people to a period of conversion. We can also focus on the good things foretold at the end of these events rather than simply dismissing such prophecies because they offer a grim outlook. In the case of Alois Irlmaier, a worldwide ban on abortion is foretold, while the prophecies of Anna Maria Taigi speak of the conversion of France. There is also the fact that some prophecies are conditional, such as the destruction of Nineveh. However, for people to convert, in addition to the essentials of Scripture and the Sacraments, it is also beneficial to be familiar with prophecies. Although prophecies throughout history add nothing to the Church's fundamental doctrine, they should not become mere words spoken into the wind or simply the contents of a dusty book sitting on a shelf. They are an instrument of preaching and spiritual renewal from time to time.
