On another post last week as asked whether anyone had heard of Alan Ames. No response told me the answer was no. Well the other night I had the experience of meeting him, listening to him and receiving the blessings of healing from him.

The healing part of he evening was something I had not experienced before. I was asked ahead of time if I would be a 'catcher'. The man assisting him, prior to the healing, asked me if I had ever been a 'catcher' before. I replied, 'only with my high school baseball team'. I was lined up, behind those who stood in line for the blessings of the Holy Spirit, with five other men as catchers. About a 1/2 dozen people were immediately slain in the Holy Spirit an fell backwards. Many others stood there for a few seconds and others longer. My three early teen boys stood there for about 45 seconds or so. It was awesome to see this. I asked them afterwards what they felt. They said our legs were shaken and thought we were going to fall. Something happened to all who participated.

Upon leaving the Church Alan gave my boys a DVD called "Come back to God" The Healing Call of Alan Ames. I am hear to tell you that he is the real deal. This DVD is par excellence and needs to be seen by all who desire to enter into the Divine Will. He is now living in the divine will in my view. I can't wait to share this video with my high school faith formation class, my family and friends. It is very powerful indeed. You can purchase this and more at www.alanames.org

Alan was a bad dude. Involved in the badest motorcycle gang in England. Addicted to drugs and alcohol was his life. Nearly killed 3 guys before God changed him. He has a great story and a gift of the Holy Spirit that I have not personally experienced before. I encourage all with a sincere desire for holiness to look him up as he travels throughout the world giving the Divine Will message and if you can't do that pick up his dvd's.

When I hear stories like this I wonder why Alan or why this person or that person. Why does God call certain people to change out of their darkness and not others or all. I think He will in the Warning but what is it with these certain individuals that God whacks on the head to,change them. Is it prayer from another, is it a purpose God has for them, does God eventually call all of us and only some like Alan hear this call and change. What a great experience you had Fatima. Thanks for sharing this story.

For me it was a peaceful experience. I am a tough nut to crack, cause I am not an emotional person who is easily drawn into the charismatics (feely touchy) of the Church. I am more like Peter. I look to my own strength to often and start to sink. But I am learning to be more like St. John the beloved disciple, as I also really enjoy the contemplative life. That being said, I will not be led astray by false teachings, which many charismatics in the Church easily are by their feelings instead of absolute truth.

Great story Fatima. I know the experience, but not that particular person. I have been to two such events. One was a man at a Medjugorje conference at Notre Dame University. He dropped several people. It was my first time seeing this. I was amazed at the people who were "resting in the spirit" as they call it. I remember one woman who was down for several minutes and appeared to be "speaking", but not audibly, as she lay there. Not everyone went down. I finally mustered up the courage to be prayed over by him and did not go down, but felt a peace and it all felt odd yet good, not bad in any way.

Then in Medjugorje, my second trip, our group held their own little "Spiritual healing" service in a small chapel there. We had a wonderful priest with us, Fr. Michael Lightner. His mother was our tour coordinator. He started dropping people too. We had people of all ages there. This time I did go down as he fervently prayed for "more joy" to be given to me. I was not a fast drop...I think he was about to give up actually, but then he made this one last "More Joy!" attempt. I remember looking at him and kind-of laughing because of the funny look on his face, then next thing I know I was on the floor of the chapel, feeling extremely relaxed, and he was praying over someone else. I do not remember being "caught or lowered to the floor. I laid there for a few minutes, then brought one leg up, then finally decided I should get up, though I really didn't want to.

Oh, and incidentally, until this experience, I had never, ever passed out or fainted in my entire life.
