View attachment 1806 I didn't see anything when I took this photo. just after group prayer in a graveyard at Medj. for the Holy Souls.
Medugorje is the most extraordinarily holy place I have ever visited. The atmosphere there is even more holy than Jerusalem or Rome ..and that's saying quite a lot. Its as if the veil between heaven and Earth , the Veil before the Holy of Holies has split and heaven spills out all around us. I can often prayerfully catch prayerful glimpses of the other side, but there in that Holy Village it was just non stop and very, very strong. A long conversation with a soul in purgatory, angles in the sky, meeting a possessed lady, people again and again , complete strangers coming up to me and opening their hearts, telling their deepest secrets, the sight in the distance of powerful Princes of Hell. I just found it knock down awesome. I always have a theory and I think Mary the Queen of Heaven makes her Earthly home there with a very considerable number of angels and saints. It reminds me of the New Jerusalem. It also reminds me of the old Irish Legends of the Island of Iona , were the angels were supposed to have come down from heaven and walked with the monks and the animals became friends with men. A New Eden in fact. Medugorje is a very gateway to heaven.
I can not remember anymore if I already posted this, but one day when I was devastated I returned to Medjugorje in 2012 (3 weeks after my fiancee died because of a sudden heart attack). I took a picture of the church and the clouds (because it was beautiful) but without seeing anything in particular. It was just a couple of minutes before the Franciscans and the pilgrims started praying the Rosary before Holy Mess. When I was back home, I had a look at my photo's. Then suddenly I saw a small cross and the body of Christ on it in the sky, as if it was designed by a fine pencil. You will find attached that photo. On the other photo, also attached (CROSS1), I indicated the spot where you can see that cross. For me it was clear, but of course the photo was for me personally and I interpreted it as an encouragement from Christ Himself for the suffering I was going through. In the '80 when I also suffered (mentally) for another reason, all pain disappeared in Medjugorje in no time and it was replaced by peace and joy.
I'd love to go to Medjugore with you Padraig!! With all you see...that would be a trip! Seriously though, I ache and long to go back to Medjugorje again. Oh Mother, please open a door so I can go. I desire to feel the peace of Heaven that you feel there.
This is a fairly long video but well worth watching. If you don't believe after this, then nothing will persuade you.
I missed Med too Cathy as so many do, but when I prayed about it she told me to make my own Medugorje, a Medugorje off my heart. I thought this was a beautiful thing to say.
I especially love the way the animals are there - birds in particular. First, when you are in the area of St. James church, you will see many, many doves all around. No pigeons, only doves. Why? Pigeons are everywhere else in the surrounding towns. I asked Miki Musa that question and he didn't even realize that this was the case! (Miki is a guide and "guardian" for Mirjana, and has lived there all his life. He is the one who reads the messages for her at the blue cross). Then there's this - the birds sing all night long in Medjugorje! True story. Someone told me this and then I listened. They were right. They never stop. EXCEPT when an apparition is occurring...then the birds are very quiet. It is really something. View attachment 1814 View attachment 1815
An extraordinary place. I experienced the tangible presence of souls being saved ( I was there with one of my children as a small baby and had to leave Mass because she was grizzling so, I walked round and round and round the church as confessions were being heard. I experienced people being saved. It was like being in a battle and seeing the winning side winning.) I am not a seer. I am a sceptic when it comes to signs and wonders. I hugged the knee of the Risen Christ as it exuded oil and I experienced great love and salvation. My children did as well. I saw the Gospel in action in the Cenacolo as I spoke to former drug addicts. I saw shooting stars on Apparition Hill as I climbed it one night with two very small children. Complete strangers met us at the bottom and lifted them up. Then, after the apparition, complete strangers helped us down with piggy-backs and helping hands. They spoke to my children as though they had always known them. I can't explain any of this. I last went in 2007 when my son was 11. I have tried several times to return since. I have too have felt Our Lady and Jesus sayong " You've had your fill. Now start to build your own Medjugorje and your own Kriczevac. Stop thrill-seeking. Start to live what you have experienced." That place is a glimpse of heaven on earth. Mass is something else in St James' Church. I pray that I will be allowed to visit one last time before I die.
How long does everyone think the apparitions will last? Our Lady says these are her last apparitions on earth. This June is 33 years of apparitions and messages. My guess is 40 years. The Jews were in the wilderness for forty years led by Moses and our Lady is certainly leading us through the desert of tbese times.
I was sent this today! Thought I'd share! 3/16/14 One single Mass per year[/paste:font] Pictured: Fr. Edward Sousa Jr. "One single mass per year" Many are still unaware of a magnificent and astonishing element in Medjugorje’s history. It is a joy for me to share this with you today, because it is directly linked to Divine Mercy Sunday! The Turks ruled the country for more than four centuries (1463-1873). Now during this period of time, the Christians were submitted to terrible persecution and forced to convert to Islam. In fact, according to the Papal visitor Peter Masarecchi, by 1624 40-50,000 Croat Catholics were forced to convert to Islam in the central part of Bosnia. (This explains the presence of Muslims in the country, who are in fact “ex-Christians” according to their roots). The government at that time did not allow Catholics to celebrate the Mass, so a sort of secret Christian life grew that was similar to the secret life of the first Christians who celebrated Mass in the Catacombs of Rome, (also similar to the lives of Christians in modern day China). The Bosnian government did however make one concession: Christians were granted permission to celebrate one Mass per year, only one, in a predetermined place, in the middle of nowhere, far from any city. The date of this Mass was predetermined too - the first Sunday after Easter, the same date that Jesus would later choose as the Feast of the Divine Mercy, according to the revelations of Saint Faustina Kowalska. The Christians, who were so fervent in this era, did not hesitate to go by foot to this chosen place in their thousands, walking for days and through the night in all weather facing dangers along the way, in order to be able to live this Mass and “see Jesus” present in the host at least once in the year. This pilgrimage was, for them, the source of their strength, their hope, their joy, and their light in the night of persecution. We know that there is method in God’s ideas! We will only see in Heaven, the whole tapestry that he weaves in the world in his Divine Providence, and how strongly we are connected to one another through the communion of Saints! Only then will we discover how certain events, which appear to be new to us, are in fact deeply rooted in the past, in the heart of several generations of believers who have prayed and paid the price, who have even spilled their blood for their faith. It happens that sometimes God reveals a little of his mysterious designs and illuminates a surprising continuity in His choices. So this place, blessed by the annual mass for these thousands of suffering Christians, was none other than the rocky countryside of Medjugorje, in the exact spot where the cemetery of Kovacica is now, (where Father Slavko is buried)!! It is found just a few meters away from St James church, where thousands of pilgrims gather again today! No wonder then to see rivers of graces flowing on this village! Isn't our God truly Amazing? Children of Medjugorje
You know Steve, there are people who are stubborn like those in the times of Jesus who saw Him resurrect the death, but still they did not believe. It is only prayer and fasten that can change their hearts. Very impressing video by the way.
Here we have another impressing testimony: http://magazinelavoixdedieu.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/fabienne-my-life.pdf
Thank you, Ellabellastella, for posting this link and thanks also to Jose for posting the link to his blog. There are "Medjugorge Masses" held in our parish Church which are advertised with notices in the Church porch and even announced from the altar at Sunday Mass, as though it were some new rite of the Church. Untold damage will have been done should this be proven to be a hoax. Laicised priests, impregnating a nun, disobedience to bishops, making a living out of Our Blessed Mother! Shocking.
I am booking my pilgrimage for Medjugorje this year again this week hopefully. Really looking forward to it. Every year I go I experience many graces and blessings. It is a wonderful place.
Oh dear, this interview from 2008 keeps being published. It was published by a now defunct website called 'Petrus' which delighted in publishing negative material about Medjugorje. It is almost pure slander and if only 10% of it were true, Cardinal Ruini's commission would have made it known by leaks if not officially. Most people by now are aware of the exorcist Gabriel Amorth's support for Medjugorje: TOP EXORCISTS LAMENTS APATHY TO MEDJUGORJE Ignoring the apparitions in Medjugorje is unforgivable for Christians, says Rome’s leading exorcist who shakes his head at those who wait until the Church has ruled. Speaking of “betrayal” Fr. Gabriele Amorth also lashes out at bishops and priests for being indifferent to the fruits of Medjugorje. Fr. Gabriele Amorth (born 1925) was ordained a priest in 1954 and became an official exorcist in 1986. For about 20 years he served as chief exorcist for the Diocese of Rome. In 1990 he founded the International Association of Exorcists whose president he was until his retirement in 2000, now being honorary president for life. Throughout the years Fr. Amorth has embraced Medjugorje, and he has called the place "a great fortress against Satan" By willingly failing to pay attention to the Virgin Mary’s apparitions in Medjugorje, a great number of Christians have proven to be no different from pagans. Within this great number, both bishops and priests are included, the leading Catholic exorcist of the past 20 years said in a September 15 interview given to Radio Maria. Fr. Gabriele Amorth was speaking at the backdrop of the Virgin Mary’s message of August 25 when she said: “Dear children! Today I call you to pray and fast for my intentions, because Satan wants to destroy my plan. Here I began with this parish and invited the entire world. Many have responded, but there is an enormous number of those who do not want to hear or accept my call. Therefore, you who have said ‘yes’, be strong and resolute. Thank you for having responded to my call.” “How bitter, how bitter was the last message of Our Lady of Medjugorje, on August 25: ”Many have responded, but there is an enormous number of those who do not want to hear or accept my call’, Fr. Gabriele Amorth first commented. “Now look here; it is very sour, this balance. After more than thirty years! More than thirty years! Now if it is the pagans who don’t listen to Our Lady’s words, then that I can understand. But be you a Christian, it is not forgivable. Be you a Christian!”. However, according to Fr. Amorth’s experience, the indifference to Medjugorje goes further that that: “Even priests and bishops don’t even want to hear about it. It is not that they went there and then made their decision fairly after seeing things for themselves, no! They don’t even want to hear it being spoken about!” “ The Gospel is so clear, it tells us how to discern! By the fruits you will know the tree! It has been 30 years when Medjugorje has given us fruits that are ultimately exquisite! Confession, conversion, vocations, graces of every kind! For more than 30 years!” the exorcist reminded on Radio Maria. “In the Old Testament God sent prophets to warn of the betrayals of the Jewish people. Now, here, to warn of the betrayal of the Christian people, also the priests, God sends us His Mother! It has been 30 years! Is it possible that people still do not hear? And as for those people who believe themselves to be intelligent by saying they wait until the Church approves? They are fools!” said Fr. Gabriele Amorth.
"Ignoring the apparitions in Medjugorje is unforgivable for Christians" What a strange thing to say considering it is against what the Church officially teaches. The Church vs. Father Amorth......hmmmm.
Yeah, that's a red flag in my book as well. There's not a shred of evidence that the apparition at Medjugorje is real let alone the Mother of God. And even if it was real, Catholics don't have to pay attention to private revelations (even approved private revelations) if they so choose, as private revelation adds nothing to the deposit of faith. It is certainly NOT unforgivable to ignore Medjugorje. What a strange thing for him to say.
None of it sounds right. Priests were either laicised or they weren't. A priest either fathered a baby with a nun or he didn't. The visionaries either earn their living to support their lifestyle or they don't. Has anyone actually disproved these allegations? The invisible secret sounds more like a storyline from the Twilight Zone than a message from Heaven. Perhaps it would be more prudent for Fr. Amorth to direct his lamentations to the Vatican rather than the faithful who await the Vatican's decision on whether any of it is worthy of belief. What troubles me most is that the people who promote it are some of the most devout Catholics I have seen yet they have supported blatant disobedience of a Bishop for something unproven. If the evil one can fool the elect for three and a half years, it wouldn't be beyond him to fool people looking for signs in a troubled world. I ask God to bless everyone who follows this, but I am very uncomfortable with it being promoted in my parish in the absence of approval from the Vatican. I apologise to anyone who may be offended by this post.
