Hi all. Been staying away from the forum for the past days while I pulled myself together. I realised the other night that I was mourning for a notion of Ireland that is really long dead... it's just that the obituary was late getting published. Fortunately, Jesus' speciality are resurrections (On a side note regarding Atlantic Philanthropies and Chuck Feeney, the University of Limerick is the university that has received the most funding from them. About a year ago, a group of students wanted to start a pro-life society. Any group of students is permitted to start a club or society. For example, they have christian, pagan and party affiliated societies, and so on. Anyway, the students were banned from forming any society that was pro-life. Pro-choice literature has been handed out in the past on UL grounds though. I don't see a coincidence. I don't understand what power these boys wield over people, but where their money goes true freedom and rationality dies.)
I did a search o.n donors to Atlantic Philanthropies and AARP came back.AARP was a big backer of HHS/Obamacare. Looking at aarp donors ,bill gates ,Microsoft goldman sachs financial, Chase bank... to many to list. I was curious also of this vote and events that took place in Houston Texas...tornados and flash flooding. AARP has 3 offices in Houston and the mayor there is a radical homosexual. some may remember her last fall when she was going after pastors who preached in the Churchs against her. This led to FOX news Mike Huckabees call for all pastors around the country to send her Homilies and a bible.... her office was swamped with replies!!! Don't no if these events connect, but the timeing strikes me
And yet, it's the so called "yes" crowd that preaches tolerance. Yes, tolerance as long as it confirms to their perspective. What a bunch of hypocrites
I recall 6 months - year ago, Michael Voris did interviews with Irish people on the streets and asked them if they were Catholic and if so are they practicing their faith. He found only a very few who practiced their faith, but most all of them said they or their parents were Catholic. Most wanted nothing to do with it. Seems this got mentioned on the MOG forum back then and many thought Michael slanted the outcome because of where he was doing his interviews. Many said they did not live in areas such as the ones he was questioning. Seems Michael was right in his assessment. Many did not want to believe that the majority of Irish had lost their Catholic heritage. http://www.churchmilitant.com/video/episode/irish-catholics-06-28
I can't say of all of what Mr. Cook writes the article is accurate for Ireland, but I think he nails it for the US. The institution of marriage is on the rocks and I suppose this SSM push is almost a result of it. http://www.aleteia.org/en/society/a...-trashed-marriage-in-ireland-5895104443187200
Fatima, I think the same. SSM is one thing but abortion is something else. Adults decide for themselves but aborted babies are denied that right. It brings me to tears. Garabandal - i understand now what is happening in Canada, Its what Fatima says about the Church splitting. I was thinkng about this last night and I think the penal laws are coming back. We have to survive them agin.
Out of the (266 popes) - no Irish born has ever taking the seat of Rome. In our country's obdurate abhorrent situation it would.. I feel bring HOPE.. perhaps bring light; much needed unity to a country in religious chaos. Ah, but. To dream of a better love in God and country. God Bless!
And now this: http://www.rte.ie/news/2015/0527/704228-assisted-suicide/ High on the success of the Abolish Marriage referendum, we are in a culture-of-death frenzy at the moment.
Irish marriage referendum is 'defeat for humanity,' says Vatican official Dublin, Ireland, May 27, 2015 / 04:34 pm (EWTN News).- The Vatican’s Secretary of State lamented Ireland’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage as harmful to the family and society
Maybe they should have said this a week ago or maybe Francis could have made a small video for the Irish people to encourage a no vote. Maybe he will come to our assistance for an abortion referendum, I hope. I am assuming Francis is not ready to be hated by the world yet and has very valid reasons for that. I am not speaking out against my holy father here just thinking out loud. I guess the vote is a fair view of the wheat vs the chaff
Yes! ... but ...... Who gives a S*** what this silly old fool ... and satan's useful idiot thinks!!!?? If what many of US think here and elsewhere be happening NOW .... it's all just part-n-parcel of The Storm, satan's deceptions and his attempts to discourage and confuse The Flock in the Final Confrontation! Get yourself and as many Family/Friends as you can focused on Jesus and Salvation .... THAT is all that matters at the end of our days here!!! GOD ENCOURAGE AND SAVE ALL HERE!!
well ,this is reported thru a Catholic news site. Pope Francis has been saying for a long time marriage is between a man and a women. And no one is listening, that's not a jab at you at all, please don't take it that way. liberal media twists the popes words to say something he never says. and the far right does the same... If this came out 2 weeks ago ,liberal media would bury this story... just my limited view. Your right, this is a test for us ALL....wheat& chaff....Hold Fast...The Triumpth of The Immaculate Heart of Mary is coming!!!
Yeah it's all a bit depressing really. I just read this article (linked above by Adoremus) about the push now for euthanasia in Ireland. It's always the same tactic... find a hard case that will appeal to people's compassion and use it to push through something. I think they do this so that people do not appeal to reason. Compassion and reason temper each other I think. When one rules the other, people cannot make informed choices. Anyway, I know it's tempting to despair as we will see more and more of this now. Their are many prongs that satan is using to attack Ireland (euthanasia, abortion, I think divorce laws will become completely lax now, and so on) but the real danger is that the Church is now primed to pull itself apart. I think Ireland (and other countries) is going to go the way its going. We must fight this with truth but in reality, the real battle now is find a way to be people of faith in a country that is, not only secular, but anti-catholic
Same going on everywhere , The question on everyone’s lips is: what changed Catholic Ireland into a post-religious country where gay marriage has been enshrined in law by the will of the majority of people? Jon Anderson hit the nail on head when he recently wrote: “Many Irish believe in Jesus in the same way that Hindus believe in Gandhi, an interesting historical figure.” It’s not as simple as saying that the Irish have rejected the Catholic Church. It goes much deeper: the truth is that the majority have abandoned traditional Christianity and will not let it guide their choices and their way of life. http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/com...d-its-people-to-choose-secularism-over-faith/
A really good article http://www.crisismagazine.com/2015/the-joyful-death-of-catholic-ireland And a comment posted in reply: “My belief is this: God created me to live at this particular moment in time (indeed all of us), desperate though the times may prove to be, because in His Wisdom and Plan for Salvation He desired it be so. I pray God grant me the grace through the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary that, weak and sinful as I am, I may serve Him for His Glory and in accordance with His Will.” Amen!
