Oh my dear friend, my heart goes out to you.

By way of consolation can i tell you of my experience on the morning before my mother died-
I was praying the rosary in bed, knowing my mother was very sick but not aware how sick.
I usually tried to say all the Joyful, then Sorrowful and Glorious mysteries.
As i was saying the Sorrowful mysteries i "saw" a monstrance of light. The host moved out of the monstrance and then rose to join an area of light above it.
This was repeated a number of times until i understood that the monstrance represented my mother's body. Eventhough it was beautiful, the monstrance was not the thing of value. The host was what was precious - and it represented my mother's soul.
It was leaving the monstance and was to be united with God in heaven.
I stopped praying at the end of the Sorrowful mysteries as i knew i would be saying the Glorious mysteries later in the day when my mother would die.
    and so it was.
May your mother rejoice in the beatific vision, and may you be consoled by all the angels and saints.

  5. Dearest Kathy, my deepest condolences at your great loss. She now rests in Peace. And she is so very grateful for her daughter Kathy and how she has accompanied her and helped her prepare for this, the definitive birthing.
I've been praying for her since you let us know of her condition and the Grace of God present in the process. I offered Mass today for the repose of her soul, and for consolation for you, Kathy, and your whole family.
May the Lord be blessed for ever and ever!

    Thank you all so much!

Some interesting things happened during the final 7 weeks of her life. Many non-believer family members were shocked to hear her talking to deceased loved ones. I commended her to St. Joseph, comfort of the dying and terror of demons. She told me several times that a man was standing by her bed all the time, and she kept telling him to leave. I asked if he seemed good or bad and she said, "How should I know? I don't know him. But it's getting on my nerves having him hanging around all the time." I'm pretty sure she was trying to kick St. Joseph out of her room!
One day she told my daughter, "I saw fire, and hell and the devil last night, and it was terrible!" My daughter coached her about calling on Jesus and He would save her. She said, "Well, it was a little boy who saved me last night." (Her angel???)

The next day she told my daughter, "You and your mom are going to be SHOCKED when you get there!!! And I want to go there, too." I truly believe she was shown hell and heaven, verifying that no one dies ignorant of God!

She stopped going to Mass 30 years ago. But when I was praying for her when it became evident she would not recover, I felt a very strong assurance that the Blessed Mother would see to her safe passage.

My grief is that she got to the end of an 85 year life without knowing the purpose of her existence until the last. But our God's tender mercies for her just take my breath away!!! Thank you all again for your generosity in offering Masses and rosaries for her.

    How beautiful.

The signal graces you recieved are so edifying.

It has become a natural thing for me to offer my daily rosary for the special intentions of the MoG forum. I know that the prayers of all here are helping me and my family!
I really do see us as a special kind of family.
Thank you for your prayers and all members here.
God bless you and your family always.
