I am reading Mary Regan's book on Padre Pio at the moment. It is very good. I had no idea his parents were so Holy! She must have did a ton of research to discover as much as she has: The older I get the more I love Padre Pio. Although I think Mary goes a bit overboard about him. For instance she suggests Padre Pio will save one third of all humanity and seems to consider him a greater saint that St Francis of Assisi. I love him too..but..
I got this for my son in law who is studying to be Catholic. He is enjoying it. St Padre Pio is just such a wonderful friend.
She said there is an old Franciscan legend that one of his disciples would save a 3rd of mankind. It seems a bit of a reach. Although Satan said one time through a possessed person in Paris that if there were two more like the Cure of Ars at that time that his Kingdom in that country would come to an end.
Yes I often think of him at nights before sleeping. He shows what might be possible to us all. Not the miracles, but the love. The biggest miracle of all is love.

I heard someone say one time that the one sure way you can know you have met a saint is that you are dying to meet him again. I am always dying to meet Padre Pio again.
I believe that there have been at least one or two saints in the forum from time to time. You can tell by their suffering. Big Cross. Big Crown. But in the very nature of things they are very,very humble and so hard to spot. Like trying to pick Forget-me-nots.
