It is shocking. There are supposedly faithful Catholics defending this sacrilege. Some of them liken the woman dancing to David dancing before the Ark of the Covenant. They conveniently ignore the fact that Our Lady and St. John weren't dancing at the foot of the Cross on Calvary. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is being turned into the Abomination of Desolation.

Jesus will rescue the Church in His time. Some, or perhaps all, of us may not live to see the rescue if He chooses to do so one priest at a time and one soul at a time. Should the abominations become the norm, perhaps the Rosary will be the only weapon left to us in this spiritual battle.

I was at mass this morning at my local Parish Church when, on the way in, I noticed a large Suggestion Box. I wrote on it in large letters,

'Loose Pope Francis in the Rain Forest',

    ..and signed it. :):)

This kept me giggling for quite some time during mass.:)

The priest is an Indian gentleman who is very, very holy indeed. Also very learned (he speaks seven languages).

He has started rosaries after mass with a elderly Cross and Passion Sister who, I suspect is very very saintly herself. This brings me great joy.

What I mean is, that in Fall we see the leaves falling. The trees turn bare. This might make us sad. But the leaves are such beautiful colours, Golds, Coppers, Bronzes, Reds...

We must not only look to the coming of winter but the Beauty of Fall. We must look even more at the good and holy when things turn cold and dark and bleak around us. We must find joy and hope and even have a giggle writing funny notes to our Holy Parish Priests.:D

There is a very, very good daily report on the Synod running from EWTN in Rome. It only lasts for about five minutes and so is very easy to find time for.

Very fair and balanced. No hysterics.

Padraig, Edward Pentin also wrote the following about the first 2 days of the synod and it should be noted that Greta Thunberg was mentioned at the synod:

Women’s Diaconate, Amazonian ‘Mass’ Discussed in Amazon Synod’s Opening Days
Days 1 and 2 featured interventions from more than 40 participants from around the world.
    Oct. 8, 2019 | http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/amazon-days-1-and-2

This is a Google Translation which includes Cardinal Marx's statement from the synod so far:

Marx calls on synod "change of perspective"

It surprised him a little: Already on the first day of the Synod the German Cardinal Reinhard Marx was on the list of speakers. In his contribution, published by the German Bishops' Conference on Monday evening, he campaigned for more commitment to climate protection.

It needs "a quick exit from the fossil fuels and a comprehensive ecological change". Ultimately, a new "balance between man and nature" is needed, but that would not work without a "change of perspective".

Marx is a member of Pope Francis 'Cardinal Council and Chairman of the German Bishops' Conference. Here we document his statement in full.

"This treasure of humanity is in danger"

The Instrumentum laboris describes the destruction of the Amazon: "Massive tree felling, extinction of the tropical forest through deliberate forest fires, expansion of agricultural land and monocultures are the causes of the current imbalances in the climate in the region, but obviously also affect the global climate, and but in the growing catastrophic droughts and floods of planetary [global or universal?] proportions. "(IL 54) This destruction of nature fundamentally contradicts the Christian understanding of responsibility for creation.

Amazonia is a "lung of the world" of great importance for the global climate and its biodiversity is also a valuable natural heritage. The extraordinary biodiversity is not only useful for humans, for example in medicine, but every species has an intrinsic value. But this treasure of humanity is in danger. If forest areas continue to be cleared - for which industrialized countries bear joint responsibility in view of global trade links - the tropical forest is in danger of becoming completely dehydrated, with incalculable consequences for the global climate.

"It's not about individual questions, but about a new, comprehensive perspective"

The climate is a global collective good and we have the mission to protect it and preserve it for future generations, in the Amazon and worldwide. This requires a quick exit from fossil fuels and a comprehensive ecological change. This change can only succeed with the right political and social framework conditions that prevent the ecological and social costs of economic activity from being passed on to uninvolved third parties. The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol speak of a "common, but different responsibility" of the countries. Accordingly, the large industrial nations have a special responsibility for climate protection in view of their emissions of greenhouse gases. The industrialized countries can take the lead in ecological change and develop sustainable patterns of consumption and production. They also have a duty to assist the countries of the South in adapting to the climate change that is already being observed. Ultimately, it is about global solidarity, the basis of which is a "new idea of progress" (see also LS 46, 194).

If, as the Instrumentum laboris demands, we want to save the Amazon (IL 56), we need a holistic ecology and a change of perspective that will lead to a new balance between man and nature and a peaceful coexistence of human beings. It is not about individual questions, but about a new, comprehensive perspective, as Romano Guardini has already analyzed: "The yardstick by which time alone can be fairly measured is the question of how far in it, in its particularity and possibility, the fullness of the human existence unfolds and reaches to genuine meaning. "(see EG 224) To the holistic ecology and economy it belongs to put an end to corruption, exploitation and global indifference and to examine our action again and again, what impact it has on nature and on people in the world. It's just as you, Holy Father, put it in the Encyclical Laudato si ': Everything is connected!

PS - I guess I missed the part when Cardinal Marx mentioned his concern for saving souls.

I have been debating over where to post the following and although it has nothing to do with this thread except maybe a connection to one of the CM videos posted maybe on this thread, for some reason I have decided to post the link to this article here. It is a long article but I know that I learned a lot by reading it and I thought that others may also. The article reminded me of what Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen stated about the laity saving the Church. Anyway, I hope that you enjoy it.

Could the future of Catholicism be taking shape in this church basement?
In Fall River, a group of parishioners won the chance to run their crumbling church. If their experiment works here, it might just work anywhere.

Sometimes I think this is all a nightmare and isn't real . There's an article going the rounds by Pope Francis's atheist friend Scaffari seeing that the Holy Father told him privately that he thought Jesus was only human and this is why he never genuflects before the Tabernacle (The Holy Father's defenders say this is because he has sore knees).

Scaffari previously said the Holy Father told him he did not believe in hell.

I have no difficulty in believing these things. Anyway why would Scaffarri lie?

    Sigh. Terrible times.

I know this is a terrible thing to write but I am not convinced anymore that the Pope in any real sense of the word a Catholic..if he ever was.

The thing is..if he is not a Catholic..what is he?

But we can't read hearts...we'll just have to watch and pray. It was kind of the Holy Father to refer to Jesus as a , 'Man of exceptional virtue', not perhaps right up there with the Pontiff himself, of course. Of course not.. Kind and perhaps slightly patronising as though to say, 'Jesus did his best', but I'm getting along loads better! Or do I imagine this?
Equally if Jesus was just a man He sinned and made mistakes , which Francis is waiting in the wings to correct. Francis have the much better take on thing. Or do I imagine this too?

We need to be careful that this is not fake news produced to provoke orthodox and traditional Catholics into a reaction. Like a fly trap!

However, if it is true then this is a complete gamechanger as it will be proof that we have a heretic and an apostate at the head of the Church and that most likely he never was Pope.

I'm very disappointed with EWTN's news coverage of the Vatican and particularly of the lead-up to the Synod. I didn't expect any improvement, and having short snippets from Edward Pentin is merely their attempt to look like they are giving balanced coverage. In short, EWTN's news coverage is a whitewash. If it weren't for Raymond Arroyo, I would stop watching it altogether.

I'm not interested, either, in what some Evangelical has to say to LifeSite News. There are two political extremes fighting it out for world dominance. That our hierarchy has chosen to align Christ's Church with an anti-Christian political extreme doesn't change the fact that the Evangelicals are aligned with a pseudo Christian political element from the other extreme. This Synod is political. That it is being spun to Catholics as seeking a way to evangelise is a disgrace. More disgraceful is that it is being used to introduce and legitimise practices in the universal Church which are contrary to the Deposit of the Faith.

Guyana is the only English speaking country in the Amazon region. Catholic Media Guyana has a channel on Youtube. Here's a video of a Jesuit priest explaining the "three aims of the Synod": (1) Seeing the crisis of the Amazon and the seed of destruction caused by businesses which are after Amazonia's resources and to stand with the indigenous people against the "extractivist mentality"; (2) Listening to and accompanying the indigenous people, both Christian and non-Christian as "the Church is called to do"; (3) "The third aim is evangelisation". We have to devise new ways of evangelisation, looking at it as not what we can get from them but how can we learn from them and how can we be in harmony with them. Later on in the video he talks about how "excessive" eating of meat and dairy produce, which he describes as consuming it daily, destroys the planet. He suggests refocusing Friday abstinance as, yes, the sacrifice of the Cross but "making it real by standing in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Amazonia".

There are another couple of videos that I'll link to in separate posts. Here's Joel Thompson, SJ:

Michael Matt is right when he says that this Synod is racist exploitation of the Amazonian people to effect changes in the Church. Repam is an organisation set up to "listen" to the indigenous people and relate their views to the Pope. Here's a video of Jesuit Cardinal, Pedro Barreto, Vice-President of Repam, addressing a meeting. Can anyone deny that what he is preaching is Liberation Theology? The Cardinal conveniently omits to mention that to become "Childrenn of God", i.e. brothers and sisters of Jesus, we must be born again of water and the Holy Spirit - Baptism. He calls Pope Francis "a gift of God" for a movement that began 40, 50 or 60 years ago. There is a floor display with two naked female figurines, similar to the display in Carmelite Church in Rome and in the Vatican Gardens. The Cardinal distinctly likens the figurines to the Virgin Mary. Note the mannerisms of the Repam representative alongside the Cardinal. I'll be posting a video of one of his talks.

The Vatican has gone into overdrive in this one -- a very quick repudiation of Scalfari --

On the divinity of Jesus, the Vatican corrects Scalfari

Here's Mauricio Lopez, Secreatry of Repam, addressing the gathering at which Cardinal Barreto spoke. If bovine flatulence is a major source of CS gas, I reckon that silencing Mr. Lopez could reverse climate change almost overnight. Note the floor display:

And take a look at this picture which, apparently, Mr. Lopez posting to his social media account. (I don't know anything about the website in my link where I found the picture)

This is so serious that the Pope must come out and deny that he said this. He needs to profess that Jesus Christ is true God and true Man.

A Vatican statment is not enough. It must come out of his mouth!!

To ignore and say nothing this would be scandalous and sinful!!

This is so serious it make the Amazon Synod irrelevant!

And here's one of those indigenous people expressing her opinions at one of Repam's meetings (most likely the one attended by Cardinal Barreto because I think she's sitting on the left of the audience at that meeting). The way she speaks and her aggressive attitude is very reminiscent of Jesuit inspired and motivated social justice, Catholic Spring activism:

Finally, a Mass for the Amazon. Note that the only people wearing feathers are the priests. I suppose we should be relieved that they waited until the end of Mass to don the feathers. Unlike the priests, many of the congregation don't have red paint marks on their faces:

Michael Matt and the elderly French missionary priest are right. There's nothing Catholic about this noble savage stuff.

But then he would have to call Scalfari a liar, and he has no guarantee that Scalfari didn't record the conversation. Scalfari's account of the Pope's plans for the Church (Communion for everybody, etc.) were denounced but subsequent events have proven them to be accurate. Every "respectable" Catholic news outlet denounced Scalfari as misrepresenting the Pope, but the Pope didn't contradict Scalfari's report of their conversation. All those Catholic journalists were wrong then. Who's to say that this latest report from Scalfari isn't as accurate as his first report? Only the Pope, but Pope Francis likes to cast himself in the role of Jesus, silent before his accusers - a stance which has worked well for him so far.

It cannot work this time because the accusation is just too serious!!

Pope Francis cannot ignore this one -- this is going to take off like a rocket.

In my opinion it is a Game Changer!!

The hierarchy don't care what you or I think. Pope Francis has appointed a majority of the Bishops and it's very likely that all of them share his beliefs. They will sit this one out until it dies down and is overtaken by the secular media's delight at the outcome of the Amazon Synod. Just like the Church awoke one day to find itself Arian, we are awaking now to find the Church apostate. All we can do is pray.

If Church Militant's reporting is accurate, some wealthy Americans are having some effect on the Vatican's misuse of the faithful's money. Their report about the Americans questioning the whereabouts of the Papal Foundation's donation of millions probably led to the police raid on the Secretariat of State. Most likely, the blame will be pinned on some minnion, letting Cardinal Parolin off the hook, but it's a start.

Here is a new video from Michael Matt (and prayers for Michael Matt also - reporting on this looks exhausting):

"VATICAN REALITY CHECK: What about Amazon infanticide?
    Published on Oct 8, 2019

Reporting from Rome, Michael Matt breaks down the Day 2 press conference from the Amazon Synod.
One brave reporter asked the panel what's to be done about the fact that some twenty Amazon tribes still practice infanticide.
Even though the Synod's own UN spokesperson today admitted that infanticide is a problem, Jesuit Cardinal Baretto Jimeno rebuked the reporter, telling him to bring evidence of the claim next time.
Three questions: If Amazon culture is more or less sacred, how can the UN tell those tribes to stop committing infanticide?
Second: How does the Vatican go about determining which of the Amazon people should be listened to and learned from, and which need to be avoided for still engaging in infanticide?
Third: How can the Vatican care about infanticide in the Amazon when they just got through embracing the communist People's Republic of China, which has been engaging in gendercide for centuries?
And, finally, Greta Thunberg received public kudos from the panel today for being, like Francis, from the peripheries and yet still ready to help save the planet.
Plus, it turns out that "Jesus was an Indian, too!"
    Beam me up, Scotty! "

The following comment summarizes things well, imo:
    "Jimmy Rumney 18 hours ago
I’m not worried about global warming. Hell is way hotter. Our Lady of Fatima...pray for us!"
