Last year a group of us consecrated ourselves to Mary. We had an open thread for our 33 day journey to share our thoughts and feelings. It was very fruitful, and perhaps the best thing I ever have done in my life. The experience was enhanced by doing it as a group on this forum. It is now time for me to renew my consecration...so I'm calling out to my fellow forum members to see if anyone would like to join me on this 33 day journey of faith once again. With all that is going on in the world...there could not be a better time! You will grow closer to Jesus though Mary and you will allow her to guide your life along a path towards God's will for you. It's awesome to do and I highly recommend it! I am targeting May 13th, a Marion feast day. The consecration would begin on April 11th. I will be using Fr. Michael Gaitely's book 33 Days to Morning Glory. St. Louis de Montfort's 33 day consecration could also be used. Either way, you should read de Montfort's True Devotion to Mary prior to the consecration, so you understand what the consecration is and the significance of what you are doing. It's not a hard read, and very inspiring! I believe consecating yourself to Mary is an act you will never regret. According to de Montfort, it is the surest way to get yourself and your family to Heaven. Given the signs of the times getting louder and louder...I think it is of utmost importance to consider doing this...Mary will change you life forever...time to get as serious about our spiritual lives as these serious times require!
I consecrated my myself on 6th September 2013, like you say best think I have ever done. Is it too soon to renew? I feel that doing it as a group would be very powerful and effectual.
you can re-new it at any time. some do it yearly, every 6 months, or whenever you feel the need for a spiritual re-charge! I got so much more out of it by doing it as a group. I should hunt for the thread from last year...but I should probably get to bed now

I started a thread about this time last year when the thought was put in my head to consecrate myself, as I had a lot of questions myself. Maybe the discussion in the thread below will answer some of your questions. It's really a matter of reading up a bit about it, deciding what consecration book to use (de Montfort or 33 days to morning glory) and then jump right in! Potato Sack, My brother and I are presently reading and meditating on 33 Days to Morning Glory a retreat in preperation for Marian Consecration. Two days ago I received a message from Fr. I have been reading True Devotion and giving the matter much thought. I've ordered 33 Days to Morning Glory - would very much like to undertake the preparation and consecration with members of the forum. Is there someone who can lead us - how did this work last year?
I'm happy to go with any of the preparations - think a group would be best to keep me on track. Perhaps a separate section for those who have made the consecration/are making it, would be helpful? It seems there are a number of people here who are into TD...
Hi Clare, so glad you have an interest in doing this as a group! Most on the forum seem to have read de Montforts's True Devotion book. I think it's almost essential as prep, so you understand what consecration is. I prefer the 33 days to morning glory for the actual consecration. In terms of last year, we kept it simple and had an ongoing thread where we posted each day our thoughts and reflections and what we were experiencing. I know our mother was weeding my personal garden pretty good...but that is what consecration is all about...our mother molding us and us trying to be like clay and not rigid rock! Despite it's simplicity, the thread was very fruitful for me in terms of getting the most out of the consecratoin. It was very powerful, and many members participated in posting even though they weren't making the consecration. so, I envision that format again and hope others participate. I'm more than happy to take the lead and begin the thread and post daily and hope others post as well. Below is our thread from last year. Thanks Potatosack, I had been looking for this thread and I'm sure it will be of help to me in the run-up towards the 33 days. I've started reading TD and am finding it quite wonderful. It was given to me 25 years ago by a lady in the US, along with Secret of the Rosary, and although she explained the consecration to me I couldn't find it in me to get excited about it. Now suddenly I feel drawn to it - perhaps Bl John Paul is involved as I have a strong devotion to him? I found this site a few days ago as well...

I'm getting excited...you, me, Andy, maybe Indy. a nice little group is forming. you will love 33 days to morning glory as a few days are based on john Paul's writings. focus on reading TD before we start. sounds like our mother is calling you at just the right time for the consecration. is that how you found this forum?
Yes, I was googling for info on the consecration. I'd been led to think again by pondering 'signs of the times', which are only going to get worse from a Christian perspective. The major prophecies all say that Our Lady is key to eventual defeat of evil and it makes sense to join her army. I've always loved the rosary and followed my consecrated friend's lead in offering them to Mary for her to dispose of as she wills rather than setting an intention myself (unless there is a grave necessity). I'm studying TD with a side look at Secret of the Rosary in readiness. Oh, and some of the other marian books recently recommended on this forum are cheap for the Kindle, so it makes sense to load them up.
