The following is the first serious indication that the world economy is more fragile than thought. If the bubble pops, a 2020 Trump re-election will fade into oblivion. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/g...right-now-2019-08-07?siteid=yhoof2&yptr=yahoo Safe in the Father's Arms!
I keep reminding myself to Trust in God and the Care of His Holy Angels. But sometimes it is very hard. The world seems to walk around in a dream
I have very little wealth living from month to month. For those who have put their faith in the 'system' there is a great, great shock coming. Out true wealth are the treasures we accumulate in this life's journey. Our daily encounters with the living God continue even if all around collapses.
My sympathy is for those with families to care for. But as St Paul said, 'My Grace is sufficient for you'. We just have to Trust God will send His holy angels to protect and nurture us. Because of lack of Faith people lack the inner moral stamina to withstand crisis, we can see this around us in how bad tempered people tend to be at the least problem and insult. If the Internet and power go down or the supermarkets close I tend to think they'll mostly go berserk. I hope this is not so. But previous generations had the inner stamina to go the distance. This one certainly does not. The lack of the internet alone would just about wipe everyone out.
I'm convinced the world economy is a pyramid scheme. Pyramid schemes go well...until they don't. States possess enormous debt. To the degree that making efforts to cut back the debts would depress economies so much that it would make them even worse. So, they press harder on the accelerator down their dead-end street. In the US, both parties know this and hope to be the one in opposition when the impact hits. In reality, things will be so bad it won't matter. The latest fashion in economics is 'Modern Monetary Theory' (ominously invented by a Marxist). According to this, wealth can be generated by issuing fiat currency. Why didn't we think of this before? The human race could always have had everything it needed and wanted. Before the digital age, the only limitation was the availability of ink. The question is, why isn't poverty eliminated now? What's stopping our governments from issuing enough money for everyone's requirements? Indeed, since wealth can be generated so easily, why not issue enough for everyone to have a house and a BMW and so on? Think of the boost for equality.
Well, there is the inflation issue. You can issue more money, but that would drive the price up, then where are you? Living as frugal as possible is a good way of life. Also, having your own garden etc. can be a benefit. Hard work is beneficial, not only to the body but to the mind. And of course, helping the poor is food for the soul. Just some random thoughts.
At the moment, despite vast amounts of 'quantitative easing' (what butchers of language invent theses euphemisms?), there is a clever concealment of inflation. They keep food and drink cheap, likewise cars, computers, phones and other distractions. However, it is getting harder and harder to put a roof over one's head and access to medicine is getting increasingly expensive. Education is still relatively cheap in Ireland, although the quality of the product seems to be declining, but the international tendency is for this to become more expensive. Selective inflation means that only certain groups are effected at any one time, but if food, for example, starts getting more expensive (as it will, if the green madness gets its way), inflation will become universal.
We had an Antifa march against our pro-life rally last year in Knoxville, TN. There were so many threats against us that we had to have police protection and were not allowed to march in our downtown. When we left the rally, we were yelled at by them. Our side was peaceful -:their side was hateful!
Here in the new england region of US food has gone up enormously. I cant get over it. And paper products and cleaning products. Even white vinegar which used to be fairly cheap and my favorite go-to cleaning product has doubled in price.
Yesterday I bought some sausage patties in a box. They used to be the size of the palm of my hand, when I took them out this morning they were half that size! really? I just had to laugh it was so absurd . . .
