yes , that is long Viv. I agree with a lot that you say here. Sadly the first point must be debated ....]What a strange question, Mac. Of course God never needs to seek forgiveness. It must be meant rhetorically? If I remember rightly , Pope Francis suggested the young Jesus sought forgiveness from his parents in one of his ramblings?
Sorry Mac. It was too long. I have already found a site where a homosexual lobby has demanded that Christian churches that oppose homosexual marriage should be shut down, not Jewish or Muslim churches, just Christian.
Oh that does not sound good. Did the pope say that Jesus had done something wrong? That Jesus had sinned? If so things are worse than I thought. I cant keep up with everything.
That has really disturbed me, Mac. Your suggestion that the pope said Jesus sinned. Can you tell me where and when he did this. I will try to find it myself but if you have the source it will save me time. Thanks
That did not take long. I found an article in Catholic Stand Jan 8 2016 entitled "Did the Pope say Jesus sinned?" I can see how some people may have read it thst he did but this article makes it clear he did not. I will try to find it again and post the link.
I would not be ashamed to apologise if I knew exactly what I was apologising for. I suppose if the Holy Father is apologising for the CHurch he is apologising on my behalf as well as a Church member. I would like to know what I have done wrong? What I have to apologise for? I wish the Holy Father had stated precisely what we have done wrong?
Quote me accurately please. All I said was If I remember rightly , Pope Francis suggested the young Jesus sought forgiveness from his parents in one of his ramblings? Was I wrong with this? Is this not accurate?
I suspect you havent done enough over the years to accompany Gay people in their sins Padraig. We all just have to guess I suppose
One Protestant theologian said one time thateverywhere homosexuality is mentioned in the Bible it is condemned and quite fiercely condemned too. This is quite true. I think it is not an accident that the Pope said these things shortly after Cardianl Marx's comments in Ireland. it seems obvious they are al lworking together as a group. Since the Holy Father has the power to appoit Cardinals I suppose we will have more and more Cardinals and Bishops saying the same kind of thing and worse. Also if anyone wants to be promoted in the CHurch they had better be sure to say the same kinds of things.
I have never really known many homosexual people in mylife looking back on it, Mac. Or rather perhaps I am bit innocent , I probably have but was not aware of it. My mother told me she did not even know what a homosexual was until she was 26. How times have changed. Searching my conscience I think I can honestly say I don;y haveany hatred or hang ups about them. But I do have a hatred for the sin itself. It is like a poison it infects all of society with its corrupton . Scripture teaches this. If I start to hear priests start down the same road as the Holy Father in Church in sermons I will be very tempted to stand up and shout back up at them.
Sorry again, was not able to post the article and I got the title wrong. It should be " Does the Pope Really think Jesus sinned". I see you link to The Remnant which I know is not very pro Francis to say the least but I will read what they have to say. In any case I am happy with the explanation I found and that makes clear what he meant. I did not think the pope could have meant that Jesus sinned and of course he did not. Thanks (I think) for your comment. When someone hits the like button does that always mean they like it or can it just mean thanks for your trouble. Its always good to say thanks.
What a strange turn this thread has just taken. Am I still on MOG forum or is someone playing a clever but slightly sick joke. I agree Padraig, the sin is sickening and corrupting. The sinners can also be sickening and corrupting but at one stage they were sickened and corrupted.
Again , I said Pope Francis suggested Jesus sought forgiveness. Why do you have an issue with this simple fact?
Yes. Only God can save us. I think too there is alot of truth in the saying that people get the leaders they desrve. These things are being visited on us because of our own sins. These things are not happening out of nowhere. We al lshare in the guilt of our presnt awful situation in the Church. I have no hope but in God in these times. Only God can save us.
