Cardinal Ratzinger: We Have Not Published the Whole Third Secret of Fatima

Fr Iannuzzi has responded to the 'onepeterfive' article. He writes:

Since the release of the 3rd Secret of Fatima by Cardinal A. Sodano, the market is filled with a plethora of claimants contending not all was revealed. Unfortunately, no documentation has forth come to authenticate this claim. This article is no different. Simply put, the words attributed to the aforesaid physically weak former professor are pure heresay (a huge “no-no” in any accredited field of methodology).

As for the “possibility” of the 3rd secret not being fully disclosed, I am not against such a possibility, but let us call it as such, and not try to deceive the readers with heresay and undocumented words. Those who know and have asked my opinion on this matter in the past have always received from me the same response, i.e., Jesus said, “I tell you, if they keep silent, the stones will cry out!” (Lk. 19:40). Therefore, inasmuch as I consider the contents of the Akita messages and of the Medjugorje secrets a reiteration and much broader and detailed articulation of 3rd secret of Fatima, it is my opinion (not a fact, as no documents are yet forth coming) that it is indeed “possible” that not all the details contained in the 3rd secret of Fatima were fully disclosed.

Further commenting on the quoted words in 2010 of Pope Benedict in the article:

This convoluted conclusion is false. Pope Benedict XVI’s words, “We would be mistaken to think that Fatima’s prophetic mission is complete”, nowise contradicts, as the author of this article asserts, the Pope’s words of June 2000, where he stated, “… the events to which the third part of the ‘secret’ of Fatima refers now seem part of the past”. Put simply, with the former statement the Pope is affirming that the “prophetic mission of Fatima” cannot be “complete” until Mary’s predictions come to pass, e.g., the “annihilation of many nations, the “era of peace”, etc. This former statement in no way contradicts that latter statement where he affirms that “… the events to which the third part of the ‘secret’ of Fatima refers now seem part of the past”, for the former - “Fatima’s prophetic mission” - is distinct from and encompasses much more than the latter – only “the third part of the secret of Fatima”.

Mac, Fr Iannuzzi says it 'as it is' in a precise way. What he describes as hearsay IS hearsay. I find it wonderful that a distinguished theologian of Fr Iannuzzi's caliber is ready to comment on articles such as the one being discussed here. He is ready to give us his view that the third secret has not been fully revealed yet is NOT prepared to accept as 'fact' any comments from third parties on what is missing.

If we put together all the quotes of people who claim to have read the complete third secret we would see a lot of contradictory information. So much of what is written on this topic is just speculation based on snippets of 'hearsay'.

I take von Hildebrande's word over his. And there is no basis whatsoever to question the words of Archbishop Forte.

The article about Cardinal Ratzinger and the Third Secret may be conjecture/hearsay, I admit. It may only serve the agenda of the trads - or it may be true. If the latter, our problems are bigger than I thought.

    Brian,

Von Hildebrandes spiritual director approved her commenting on this publicly...right? Even if she is frail, I've not heard that she is incompetent or suffering from dementia. Certainly her spiritual director felt her comments were worthy...right? I have confidence in her remarks as you do...her timing might have been just right!

  6. Now as we await the 2nd Pentecost with the Mother it is "interesting" how this little bit of info (still not complete) about the 3rd Secret (although also witnessed to by others in the past) is being revealed on more "accepted" sites...and...comes about the day after Pentecost! We will be seeing more and more being revealed now, and more of the cleansing and purification of the Church and its past "hidden" secrets that have gone missing from the faithful. We have also entered into the last year of the Fatima 100 years with the accompanying end of the 100 years given over to the Red Dragon via his instrument of Russian atheistic Communism beginning just after the last Fatima apparition.... in early Nov. with the Bolshevik revolution. And we begin this July 13 the 100th year of the first announcement of the specified request for the consecration of Russia. So what will we be "seeing" of the Holy Spirit's movement on behalf of His spouse as this year continues?? Perhaps we should buckle our "seat belts" and double up the prayers!

It seems clear that the 3rd secret came in two parts. One part has been full revealed by the Vatican in 2000.

The second part began with the words of our Lady - 'in Portugal the dogma of the faith' etc.

Yes I agree that where we are in this debate is that references to a "bad council" or "bad mass" in the secret are still very much speculative, and might anyway refer to what comes ahead, but the case that the full secret has not yet been revealed is I think overwhelming. There is just too much evidence for that, it was clearly not all revealed in 2000 for whatever reason. Maybe for example the actual text breaks up at that point into two parts and with a clear conscience Cardinal Ratzinger could say that this is the entire text, meaning the entire part of the text (as Garabandal rightly speculates above).

Incidentally the idea that Pope Benedict has such a high regard for Archbishop Lebreve is not to be dismissed out of hard. After all we now have a flourishing Latin mass scene in the West, arguably the most active and energetic parts of the Church in places like France, and its hard to see how any of it could have come about if it wasn't for the foresight and courage of the Archbishop.

Some time ago I was reading the memoirs of an old Blackrock priest, of the Holy Ghost fathers, and he was listing some of the great people he knew who he thought might become saints. He tended to think the Archbishop might become one although this priest wasn't really a traditionalist, actually he was big into ecumenism - even before Vat II - more than anything.

The point being that the Archbishop impressed many people over the years...

And anyway just to anticipate criticism I totally agree that the SSPX should now come more fully into the fold and obedience of the Church, but for all that problem they do an awful lot thats right!

If the events of the third secret are in the past, why would the annihilation of many nations be included in the prophetic mission that cannot be complete? Wasn't the consecration of Russia meant to avert the annihilation of many nations?

Sorry if my comprehension isn't up to scratch.

Who is Fr. Iannuzzi? I take it he isn't speaking from the Vatican since he grouped the unapproved Medjugorje with the approved Fatima and Akita apparitions.

I am interested to hear responses to your question but I do have this to add, I have wondered if some of what Sister Lucy saw was shown to her as a timeline. I have wondered for instance if she was shown the Tsunami in 2004, she was possibly shown other events also (you may recall others - I cannot right now). I also feel that this is the way that some of Revelations is written, specifically the opening of the seals. I think that the 6th seal is not one huge event that occurs but a few things the lead up to the Warning. I think we had a great earthquake (in Japan), lunar eclipse, blood moon, meteors(in Russia), tornado(shy rolling up like a scroll - Oklahoma City) and the pole have been shifting enough to say that every mountain and island moved out their places. Of course, this is just my opinion. Hence, no large object approaching earth is required.
As for nations being annihilated, thankfully that has not happened, the bible refers to the Battle of Psalm 83 (originally I thought this might happen before the chastisement but possibly after) which may include this or if/when the chastisement occurs this can happen.
    You have a good question.

I doubt that my question will be answered unless Fr. Iannuzzi is a member of the forum. What struck me most when reading about Sr. Lucy was what she said about marriage and Satan's final assault on the Church. We're seeing that now. How long it will take for Heaven to intervene remains to be seen. It might not happen in our lifetime. Something else I read, although I don't know how accurate it is, was what she said about it being incumbent on us to not only save our own souls but we have a responsibility to all souls that cross our path. There was something about us all being saved or none being saved. I'm paraphrasing that last part because I don't recall the exact words. I thought that was strange because our responsibility to spread the gospel doesn't include losing our own souls if people pay no heed to us. Perhaps she meant that we will answer for any failure on our part to spread the gospel - a sin of omission. If that's the case, I'm in serious troouble.

Some of the most brilliant minds in the Church have struggled with the book of Revelation, so it is probably best for us to prepare ourselves spiritually. Some people seem to believe that wars prophesied in the Old Testament refer to the Jews. I always understood that the Church is the new Israel, so I'm more inclined to believe that the world will turn against the Church - perhaps after the Jews have been converted. I really don't know, but I won't be holding my breath while the Jews search for a red heifer or whatever else they need for the sacrifice in a reconstructed temple. I'm even unsure about the Gog/Magog war because I read (possibly on the notoriously unreliable Wikipedia) that at various stages in the past people believed that war had taken place or was taking place.

Some say that the False Prophet will be an anti-Pope. I'm not so sure about that. I think it more likely that the False Prophet will lead a bunch of rebellious clergy against the legitimately elected Pope, and there's no guarantee that he will lead from the front. Didn't some visionary (possibly Anne Katherine Emmerich) have a vision of a Pope crying because he couldn't give into the demands of some clerics? Maybe the false prophet is here now. Maybe he has been and gone, having sown the seed of discontent that took years or centuries to bear bad fruit. Who knows? I don't. All I know is that if Heaven wants to get a message through to us, Heaven will find a way.

I was just wondering if anyone here will put their thoughts on your question.
I definitely understand what you are saying about Revelations, I do remember reading that when Sister Lucy was asked about the third secret she said it is all in Revelations. I have read a few interpretations and I have found that some make sense to me, others do not.
I have thought of the same thing that you posted about all being saved or none being saved. I think all we can do is our best. I wonder also that unless a bunch of us can stand up to the anti-Christ we will definitely be in trouble but we may be martyrs if we do that, I would rather the latter then to sign up with the beast.

Check out "Unveiling the Apocalypse" by Emmitt O'Regan. (You can find his blog here.) There was a theory developed back in the 70's which he has worked on, that suggests rather than a linear narrative or a group of parallel narratives, Revelation is better viewed as a spiral. Starting with the churches, you move around in the spiral, with the bowls, trumps, etc. Each time you are at the same place (first bowl relates to the first trump, etc.) but closer to the center.

"Jesus said, “I tell you, if they keep silent, the stones will cry out!” (Lk. 19:40)"
The above quote was copied from the "Fr Iannuzzi has responded to the 'onepeterfive' article."

And do you know what entered my head while reading the full post ? Has anyone noticed how much we have been hearing since the 1960's of weeping statues and holy images. I often wondered if the weeping statues was to do with the stones crying out in the prophesy sense. Just wondering.

Could that be God letting us know someone is keeping silent (Fatima Secret) and God is not happy about it.

  19. The False Prophet will most likely be some recognized member of the hierarchy already chomping at the bit for an excuse to begin the overt and real apostasy planned for so long by the "congregation" of Masons within the Church. There are already quite a few who consider themselves as "little popes", speaking out and taking it upon themselves to speak for the Pope with no real authority to do so. Because the AC needs some established and recognized hierarchical member of the already recognized universal Church to legitimize his New World religion (as well as needing someone who also attracts so many, yet to be, former Catholics away from the true Church and into his) and then form it into a worldwide accepted new institutional church, such a hierarchical actor longing for power and recognition would be ripe for such service to the AC as his "prophet".

The institutional Church has already crumbled within and we will now more than likely see the actual destruction of the physical reminder/s of the institution as well....and probably in the near future....as being advertised by such terror groups as ISIS. The continuation of the true Church/Body of Christ is already being formed within the "cenacles" devoted to and consecrated to the Woman Clothed with the Sun/the Immaculate Heart. They are that "desert" in which she is forced to seek out in these times. These cenacles as did the cenacle of the 1st Pentecost, await with Mary the Mother, for the 2nd Pentecost which will be even greater. Her part in all of this and her "power" granted by the Father will become for the world more and more recognized for the Father wishes her heart to be recognized next to the Son's own Sacred Heart in thanksgiving for her original Fiat. For now we, the Church, are living out the Passion. And like Christ it will be as if we will be abandoned as so many will flee. We will have to stand the test as individuals. Right now I think we are at the point of the crowning with thorns, having to do with the head; attacks upon the Head of the Body of Christ. When "they" strike the Head the rest will flee. And by that point in the Passion everyone, His Apostles/disciples, had fled, and other than the Mother and His beloved apostle (representing the continuation of His body as the Church), He was abandoned. It will seem the same for those who will have to be courageous to remain. It will be a time of great fear as well and even the faithful won't know just who they can trust, individually. The only refuge will be the Immaculate Heart and her Spouse Who will assist the faithful with the beginning of the preternatural gifts of the New Pentecost that will be in full reality in the New Era to come.

In the comments I posted by Fr Iannuzzi, he is in no way saying Fatima is only about the past.

There is a page about Fr Iannuzzi at http://www.ltdw.org/about-fr-joe.html
