This is happening in Lansing, Michigan and is a sign of how bad things are getting for practicing Christians: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nqkx4H6uq9I
A Catholic farmer would have no moral choice but to refuse to have same sex, 'Wedding' on their farm. It would be sinful to allow such a thing. Scarey. I admire people so much who stand up for their Faith like this. Wonderful. One of the Supervisors at work a couple of weeks ago, a Catholic, asked me to cover up my crucifix and I laughed at him and told him I would have the devout ladies from Clonard Monastery round at his house when I told them what he was doing. He and I laughed but I could see the fear in his eyes. Bullies are such cowards. He backed off right away
The devout ladies of Clonard -- wonderful! Perfect response Padraig -- done with humour but you got a 'dig' in too.
How crazy is it to expect farmers to get on board with perverts. If all the livestock were perverted like some humans, there would be no milk or byproducts from farming, and we would all starve or have to eat grass ourselves. What a crazy world we live in.
Animals are such great teachers. Did you ever notice how often Jesus mentions them and they are mentioned in Scripture? For instance the White Colt who bore Jesus into Jerusalem..I have often wondered what THAT was all about. Farmers are lucky being with them so much. I do dearly love animals and things that grow.
I feel many of us will be more and more tested like this in short order. Things are really heating up... Bring it on!
I agree. My son mentioned that they were changing to a new textbook series for his English class next year (he's 14). I saw the new textbook in the book shop and had a browse through it. A page caught my eye that had rainbow love hearts on it so I stopped to take a look. Three pages devoted to the lyrics of a pop song (what's that got to do with English, by the way?) called "Same Love" which promotes same-sex attraction and marriage as natural and vilifies the church and anyone who disagrees. It's a vile song full of hatred disguised as "tolerance". My son said they more than likely won't study it anyway, but it sickens me to think I'm expected to pay money for this filth and that he will potentially be exposed to it day ofter day, even if they don't study it in class. I was beside myself with anger and almost started shouting in the book store, much to my son's mortification. This is a Catholic school, run by the Augustinians. What on earth am I supposed to do? I can't home school my son because I'm a separated mother with no financial support from his father. I can voice my concerns to the school but I will be treated like some kind of fanatic nutcase. I can really see that the persecution is right on our doorstep now.
Dear God is right. Now that same-sex "marriage" is the law of the land we no longer have any recourse in situations like this. Some of my son's teachers campaigned openly for the marriage amendment in the school, and I see them receiving holy Communion at mass. It's nothing short of diabolical.
All we can do is educate our children to know what is going on in the world and to defend their faith if and when it comes to that. It is worth any pain, insult and humiliation to do as Christ did on the cross +
Wow. That has no place in a Catholic school. My parish religious ed class for my 4th grader had a teacher who kept bashing Trump in class (with 9 and 10 year olds!). I emailed the person in charge saying that it was unacceptable, and they get enough of that in public school, they don't need it at their parish, too! I didn't get a response back.
no and you probably won't because "the inmates are running the asylum". This kind of subversivness has been going on a long time. Adoremus can you go to the Principal with the book in one hand and the catechism in the other and ask if it can be addressed as you prefer not to go to the Bishop just yet or to the Catholic newspapers. They HATE being exposed.
Heidi maybe you can try something similar. No teacher is allowed to do that in a public school. I don't know about Catholic school but I would think not. The least they could do is provide equal time for the other side to express their views and bash Mrs Clinton.
oh believe me, the public school teachers did plenty of that here in both our middle school and high school. I contacted both principals. The middle school principal was really good about it and said it was unacceptable, but the high school principal didn't see a problem.
I am sorry to hear this. I have been retired for a few years so clearly things have changed. There is no safe place to go and no safe institution.
