My state of Ohio has about 12 million people. There are 5 confirmed cases so far. Of course, we know there are a probably a lot more.

My son called me at work today all happy about what he considers to be good news. It was just announced by the governor that all Ohio schools, grades K-12, must close for at least 3 weeks, starting Monday.

I can't decide if this is a smart move or overkill. I'm leaning toward smart, but a little too little, too late.

So hard to know. Keeping Wuhan and Hubei in mind I think overkill beats underdone every time. After reading the article Brian posted about Italy I think fiercely proactive is the way to go.

If I were you I would withdraw money from your bank account and keep cash to hand.:)

Why? Didn't China take money out of circulation? And China is being promoted as the role model for how to beat the virus.

What do you think it means? The author is Dean Koontz writing under a pseudonym. I am at sea about this. Did some DS operative choose this name and this place from the novel? It's just so bizarre.

    Anyone in Ireland.

I heard privately thorugh the grapevine there is to be a big Goverment announcement on Monday. I advise stocking up and to withdraw money from your accounts to have cash in hand. The situation is much , much more serious than anyone is letting on at the moment.
    They're deploying the military.

    A word to the wise.:);)

So far they have only closed a few schools here in Massachusetts, but I expect they will all be closed soon. I think as of yesterday, following President Trump's speech, the country turned a corner. There has been a steady stream of closings in the news today, and it appears as though the US is finally coming to terms with the gravity of this pandemic. The test kits have been too slow to roll out, and the best thing we can do now is social distancing. Everyone in my community is fully aware that COVID-19 is here. It is going to be a painful process for Americans to see life as we know it shut down.

I heard something similar about the numbers of cases although not from anyone who would be better informed than the rest of us. When I heard that I wondered whether they were playing things down until after the Taoiseach's visit to the White House. Thanks for the tip.

It is better than the Netherlands. Those depraved Liberals over there are acting as if nothing is happening.

I can't help notice that the more Liberal/Freemason / Globalist a country is , then they worse they fare. Switzerland is another example.

Whereas in hardass Conservative Eastern Europe they are doing much better. Ultra Liberal Scandanavia is of course totally falling apart.

    Just a thought.;)

Italy of course and the Vatican is run by Free Masons of course.

I work for a large US bank. What is most likely about to happen is we will be working remote. Branches will be closed except for drive thru’s for at least a few weeks. We are testing remote capabilities right now so expect some announcement next week. We are already being told to bring lap tops home every night.

Bella, you are not a victim, you are a volunteer. You made some untrue comments about our health care system and president. When you make comments like that you leave yourself wide open for comments back.

Heard that Irish defence forces are sending out by tmw or Monday (within 72 hours) as they are being mobilised....... small group of soldiers. Darth Vader (Varadkar) said the country’s army is ready to respond to requests for emergency help.

27 new cases now added to total of 70 cases. Expect it would soar high in couple of weeks as we are lagging behind the curve -something from 4 weeks to 14 weeks behind Italy, France and Germany.

This has been talked about on other forums I post on for the past two weeks. It's common knowledge in the science community that there was a Level 4 bioresearch facility in Wuhan. They did research, published papers, and so on. It's also common knowledge that China has been stealing coronavirus samples from around the world -- including the US -- for years and taking them to Wuhan. Koontz is a good enough storyteller that he's not going to invent a new "secret" facility when there's a perfectly good one that can be used to enhance believablity right there.

30 years ago my favorite pair of science fiction authors wrote a novel called "Lucifer's Hammer", about a comet striking the earth. Groundbreaking literature back then. Then 10 years ago the idea is so widespread that two different studios can make two different big-budget movies based on this premise. That's how science works.

Regarding the Dean Koontz novel, it is nothing more than chance, coincidence, serendipity (though not a helpful one in this case.) 6312050A-5A84-4DA9-87BB-527248ADB715.jpeg
