Here's a link to the Twitter page of Jesuit Cardinal Czerney who has been described as "close to the Pope": https://twitter.com/jesuitczerny/status/1238138468477415425
Note the question asked by Prof. Giorgio Giovanelli who describes himself as:
"Professor of Canon Law at the Pontifical Lateran University, Holy See. Judicial Vicar. General Chancellor."

Here's what he tweeted to the Cardinal:

"His Eminence, I have a question in these difficult days; I am also a parish priest and I have some sick people hospitalized or alone in their home. They don’t know how their health will be and they are scared! A lot of them and a lot of other parish priests asked me if it is possible to have the Mercy by video call or by phone. I know that it is requested the personal presence but in these conditions I think that we might consider it! could you help me, these sick people, a lot of other parish priests to have the faculty from the Holy Father to give our Lord’s Mercy by phone until this situation will be end? Thanks for your kindly attention. Bless me! Yours in Christ."

Looks like he's asking for permission to hear confession and give absolution by telephone. There's no reply from the Cardinal on the Twitter page. I wonder whether he got an answer in person and, if so, was it a "yes" or "no".

  2. I know there are various regional chain rosaries and DM chaplets scheduled for this weekend....also the nation has this:

President Trump Proclaims Sunday March 15th A National Day of Prayer….

    [White House] ~ A PROCLAMATION~

In our times of greatest need, Americans have always turned to prayer to help guide us through trials and periods of uncertainty. As we continue to face the unique challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, millions of Americans are unable to gather in their churches, temples, synagogues, mosques, and other houses of worship.

In this time we must not cease asking God for added wisdom, comfort, and strength, and we must especially pray for those who have suffered harm or who have lost loved ones. I ask you to join me in a day of prayer for all people who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic and to pray for God’s healing hand to be placed on the people of our Nation.

As your President, I ask you to pray for the health and well-being of your fellow Americans and to remember that no problem is too big for God to handle. We should all take to heart the holy words found in 1 Peter 5:7: “Casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you.” Let us pray that all those affected by the virus will feel the presence of our Lord’s protection and love during this time. With God’s help, we will overcome this threat.

On Friday, I declared a national emergency and took other bold actions to help deploy the full power of the Federal Government to assist with efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

I now encourage all Americans to pray for those on the front lines of the response, especially our Nation’s outstanding medical professionals and public health officials who are working tirelessly to protect all of us from the coronavirus and treat patients who are infected; all of our courageous first responders, National Guard, and dedicated individuals who are working to ensure the health and safety of our communities; and our Federal, State, and local leaders.

We are confident that He will provide them with the wisdom they need to make difficult decisions and take decisive actions to protect Americans all across the country. As we come to our Father in prayer, we remember the words found in Psalm 91: “He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”

As we unite in prayer, we are reminded that there is no burden too heavy for God to lift or for this country to bear with His help. Luke 1:37 promises that “For with God nothing shall be impossible,” and those words are just as true today as they have ever been.

As one Nation under God, we are greater than the hardships we face, and through prayer and acts of compassion and love, we will rise to this challenge and emerge stronger and more united than ever before. May God bless each of you, and may God bless the United States of America.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim March 15, 2020, as a National Day of Prayer for All Americans Affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic and for our National Response Efforts. I urge Americans of all faiths and religious traditions and backgrounds to offer prayers for all those affected, including people who have suffered harm or lost loved ones.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this fourteenth day of March, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-fourth.

Someone in my family was contacted by Franciscan Health services yesterday asking him if he would like a free home CV test kit that he could then return in the mail. He told them no thanks. He has a rather high risk job for the possibility of infection and illnesses so I thought it was interesting that he was approached without any interest on his part.

    https://www.seattletimes.com/seattl...-offer-home-testing-kits-for-new-coronavirus/

Testing for the novel coronavirus in the Seattle area will get a huge boost in the coming weeks as a project funded by Bill Gates and his foundation begins offering home-testing kits that will allow people who fear they may be infected to swab their noses and send the samples back for analysis.

Results, which should be available in one to two days, will be shared with local health officials who will notify those who test positive. Via online forms, infected people can answer questions about their movements and contacts, making it easier for health officials to locate others who may need to be tested or quarantined, as well as to track the virus’ spread and identify possible hot spots.

The goal is to eventually be able to process thousands of tests a day, said Scott Dowell, leader of coronavirus response at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The project is ramping up as quickly as possible, but it’s not clear exactly when it will launch, he added. Among other things, software needs to be upgraded to handle the expected crush of requests, and a detailed questionnaire finalized for people who request tests.

“Although there’s a lot to be worked out, this has enormous potential to turn the tide of the epidemic,” Dowell said.

While Public Health – Seattle & King County has confirmed 71 cases and 15 deaths as of Saturday, modeling by Trevor Bedford, a computational biologist at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, estimated on Wednesday that the actual number of cases in the Seattle area was about 600. Unchecked, that could theoretically increase to 12,000 cases – and possibly as many as 30,000 – by the end of March, according to projections from Mike Famulare at the Institute for Disease Modeling in Bellevue. But steps to slow transmission can significantly reduce the number of new infections, underscoring the importance of acting quickly to protect people from the virus.

The new effort aims to leverage the formidable resources and expertise of the Gates Foundation, known for fighting disease and epidemics around the globe, to assist local health agencies struggling to keep up with a fast-moving outbreak. The Seattle area has emerged as an epicenter of the new disease, with far more cases and deaths than any other U.S. city.

The World Economic Forum held an event last October named Event 201. It was a gathering of the top business leaders and health officials in the world to brainstorm what a world wide pandemic might mean for humanity and how it should be handled. Their conclusion was that nations and governments would not be able to handle it on their own and that a global body should be created and in charge. Shocker. Time to give up more of that sovereignty everyone.

It took place back in Oct 2019 but they have made sure to release some new videos updated with information from the current crisis for anyone who might have been putting 2+2 together.
I predict that very soon the fear and societal pressure to be tested for and accept a vaccine for the virus will be very intense. Already we have heard repeatedly that people carry this virus for extended periods unknowingly. Interestingly enough I have noticed on some other sites I visit that topics are showing up ridiculing parents who refuse to vaccinate their kids. I would avoid it at all costs. I have seen what these new vaccines have done to a friends daughter first hand. She received the vaccine for HPV. She became very ill and it seemed to linger for months afterward. Eventually she was told that her immune system was permanently damaged and will need to remain on medications to lead any sort of normal life going forward.

    https://www.thelocal.dk/20200313/denmark-passes-far-reaching-emergency-coronavirus-law

Denmark's parliament on Thursday night unanimously passed an emergency coronavirus law which gives health authorities powers to force testing, treatment and quarantine with the backing of the police.
The far-reaching new law will remain in force until March 2021, when it will expire under a sunset clause.

"I was touched when I saw the whole Parliament standing up and voting for this," Health Minister Magnus Heunicke told Danish state broadcaster DR after the law passed.

"It is time to put aside party politics and be together to do what it takes to bring Denmark safely through this situation."

Jens Elo Rytter, law professor at Copenhagen University, said the measures were unlike anything passed in the last 75 years "It is certainly the most extreme since the Second World War," he told the Jyllands-Posten newspaper. "There have been some powerful encroachments in various terror packages. But this goes further."

Trine Maria Ilsøe, DR's court correspondent, said that Danish citizens could face prosecution under the new law if they refused to comply with health authorities' demands. "It means that you could be sentenced to a punishment if you, for example, refuse to allow yourself to be tested for coronavirus," she said.

The Ministry of Health will now work with the Ministry of Justice on the details of how the police will work with health officials to enforce their demands.

As well as enforcing quarantine measures, the law also allows the authorities to force people to be vaccinated, even though there is currently no vaccination for the virus.

It also empowers them to prohibit access to public institutions, supermarkets and shops, public and private nursing homes and hospitals, and also to impose restrictions on access to public transport.

Initially, the government wanted to the law to give the police the right to enter private homes without a court order if there is a suspicion of coronavirus infection. But this was dropped after opposition from parties in the parliament.

The parliamentary session was itself affected by the pandemic, with only 95 out of 179 MPs present for the vote, efforts made to ensure that MPs kept a safe distance from one another, and MPs voting by standing up.

I am not very confident that in America we will avoid these types of tactics toward votes by half our lawmakers in the dead of night passing laws (like they did the 94 AW ban) for forced testing and vaccinations of our families. I do think that there will be a healthy number of people who will push back both peacefully and if push comes to shove by force. I can not imagine in some of the smaller EU countries how this will be received. It seems that the EU has gone completely off the rails with totalitarian socialism.
I will be praying tomorrow for those in nations who will face persecutions over this. It seems this has given some the impetus to push past the point of no return.
