I also have a daughter in Manhattan. She’s been married a year, and is nervous. Both of them are in the finance world. I pray this ends quickly!

I'd hope he'd choose Tulsi Gabbard, but there's a snowball's chance in hell of that, so you're very likely right.

All these events are an inevitable consequence of the despair that remains when most of society abandons belief in God. There is nothing left but to desperately cling to whatever one can grab of a pathetic, hopeless and fleeting existence, for which one becomes prepared to accept just about anything.

Tragically, most of those in charge of our Church seem to share this mindset, with at least one bishop being quoted as asserting that his primary duty is the health and welfare of those under his authority.

This woman is typical of the false compassion squad which pervade today's post Christian society:

Although she said she was “really sorry this has upset people”, she insisted: “I am a friend to older people and have worked for their rights and to take care of them all my professional life.”

We have a children's commissioner here in ireland; that supports abortion.

    Crazy, crazy world!

  12. Within all of the places of the world effected this is one "area":

ROME — Outbreaks of the coronavirus have stricken two convents in the Rome area.

Rome daily Il Messaggero quoted the Lazio region’s health commissioner on Friday as saying 59 nuns at the Institute of Daughters of St. Camillo, in the hill town of Grottaferrata, have tested positive for COVID-19. One of the nuns has been hospitalized.

The newspaper also said 19 of 21 nuns at the convent of the Congregation of Angelic Sisters, on the outskirts of Rome, have the coronavirus infection.

Churches in Italy are no longer holding public Masses, but some of them are still open for faithful to come in to pray.

Because of nearby Vatican City, Rome is home to dozens of convents or mother houses of congregations of many nuns.

  13. Pope appeals for 24 Hours for the Lord initiative

Pope Francis encourages Catholics around the world to participate in the 24 Hours for the Lord initiative, and to unite themselves spiritually in those nations where public gatherings are banned due to the coronavirus outbreak.

    By Devin Watkins

“24 Hours for the Lord” is an initiative organized by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, and held annually on the Friday and Saturday preceding the fourth Sunday of Lent.

A church in every diocese around the world is kept open for 24 consecutive hours. The faithful are encouraged to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and to pray in spiritual union with the Holy Father.

    Unusual circumstances
At the Wednesday General Audience, Pope Francis called the initiative “an important Lenten appointment for prayer” and a good opportunity to go to Confession.

This year’s recurrence will take place under restricted circumstances, due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Many countries have banned public gatherings and limited some freedom of movement to stem the virus’ spread.

“Unfortunately in Rome, Italy, and in other nations this initiative cannot be held under its traditional format due to the coronavirus emergency,” said the Pope.

    Pray to participate
But he urged Catholics in countries without restrictions on gatherings to continue “this beautiful tradition.”

“I encourage the faithful to draw near sincerely to the mercy of God in Confession and to pray especially for those suffering due to the pandemic.”

For those who are unable to participate directly in the 24 Hours for the Lord initiative, Pope Francis said he is certain they will be able to experience “this penitential moment through personal prayer.”

Is God beginning to renew His creation? I offer this for your discernment:

From Spirit Daily this morning: "Canals in Venice are crystal clear" for the first time in years. Also, because of curfews, "people are able to hear birds singing for the first time in Wuhan and in Italy." "With no air travel, pollution levels have dropped dramatically in some places."

“I Will Make All Things New"
    :
    Mar. 11, 2013 LB:

This morning while reading the Book of Heaven, opening it at random as I usually do, I opened to Volume 12, Oct. 19, 1918 where Jesus was speaking about a “general uproar” everywhere – How He will “renew the world with sword, with fire and with water, with sudden deaths and contagious diseases.” Then He added, “I will make new things.” I thought about a vision given to me years ago of a field of ash – there was nothing, no trees, buildings, nothing but a ground of what seemed to be ash and a sea of people all looking in the same direction towards the horizon where a brilliant cross appeared followed by a large ball of fire – not the sun (this is the only way I can explain it) which also appeared on the horizon causing everyone to prostrate themselves to the ground. (this is explained in my notes) Is this what will be before He makes all things new?

I also thought about what He had said to me years ago when all our belongings were ruined*, and wondered if this all related to each other, and that He will renew all things after the ruin. As I had not finished my Liturgy of the Hours this morning prior to Mass, I went to the Adoration Chapel to finish it. Having read all but the Morning Prayer Intercessions, I began reading and read, “Help us to work with you in making all things new in Christ.”

*Regarding what happened years ago when our belongings were ruined: Several years ago while living in N. Palm Bch. FL, we were moving to a town just to the north and into a new home. When our furniture arrived from the moving company, we noticed that every piece of furniture and all boxes were moldy and mildew. It was either that evening or the next that we were having a Divine Will meeting at our new house. God provided for us as we did have a metal banquet table and a few folding chairs, and went to a local store where we were able to buy beds (even our beds were ruined), and they were even on sale. Even though all of this happened, I still felt great peace and at one time during the day I heard within my interior, “I make all things new!” I never bothered about writing this down as I didn’t think it important – until after the above.

    3/17/13 LB
I have been bombarded lately with “I will make all things new” – in my spiritual readings, in the Liturgy of the Hours, etc. I believe it is telling us that we are at the door or the frontier of the new era, but first, as Jesus told me years ago, the Passion of His Church must come!

Rev. 21:5 – Behold, I make all things new.

A good reminder. I believe we need public repentence from these participants and public atonement with the Holy Father leading. And then exorcism of the Vatican. And all of us repenting on behalf of the Church--standing in the gap.
