Amen, sister. One step at a time though, God is only allowing this to let His Glory shine all the brighter at the back end (just like Easter 2000 years ago)
Thank you Carol and everyone here who have been praying. They are self quarantining at home. Still have not come around the corner yet.
The fear is that, as a consequence of their abandonment by the Church, more souls will go to Hell. My own belief, given the Perfection of Divine Justice, is that He will make allowance for those poor abandoned souls who have no responsibility for this negligence and that it is those who have abandoned their people who need to beware.
I agree, God will act, God will save. God is not mocked. I am not one to make prognostications of negativity where God is concerned. He’s restoring His Church. Didn’t He say He will reconcile all things to Himself? Even the experts are changing their minds all the time. God is always the same. He does not change.
Mary's Child, You are very welcome. My heart aches for them, truly. Is there any possibility of them getting hydroxycloroquine because it seems that it is helping many coronavirus patients. When I do watch the news lately they often have someone on speaking about how they took this medication and after a few days they were feeling much, much better. Fox News had Dr. Ian Lipkin* on last night talking about how he had this virus and he did take hydroxycloroquine and he is not certain, of course, that it helped but he is well now. * Infectious disease expert Dr. Ian Lipkin, consultant for 'Contagion' movie, has coronavirus https://www.foxnews.com/us/dr-ian-lipkin-consultant-contagion-coronavirus 3/27/20 May Our Blessed Mother watch over them and aid them through this. + *** I just heard that Chris Cuomo from CNN has tested positive for COVID-19. He is the brother of Andrew Cuomo, the governor of NY.
That is their hope. My sister in law is a midwife and is in the process of trying to obtain for the family.
'Quarantine' comes from Italian for 'forty' What’s in a word? Often, more than one thinks. With what swirls around us, take as an example the word “quarantine.” We all know that quarantine means to isolate someone, to separate or sequester, to immure, in order to prevent exposure of one kind or another, usually to infectious disease. But it goes further, perhaps mystically so — for when one looks into the origin of the word, one finds that it comes from the Italian (Venetian) for quaranta, which means “forty,” and quarantena or quarantina, which more tellingly means “forty days.” That derived from a practice during the bubonic plague (“Black Death”) in the 14th century of making ships remain in port for forty days before those aboard could disembark. That was about the time it took from infection with the plague to final outcome. The practice was largely responsible for stymying the horrid outbreak. It is self-evident why this would seem peculiar: A pandemic erupts now on the world during Lent, representing Jesus’s forty days in isolation (from the world) in the desert. It is as if humanity at large is being forced to partake in Lent. It would be nice if humanity realized it. Another peculiarity: the hawthorn bush or tree. There are those who subscribe to the revelations of Marie-Julie Jahenny, a stigmatic and seer from France who during alleged apparitions of Jesus and Mary was informed of coming punishments of men for sin (along with the coming of anti-christ, and the end of the world). She is most famous in certain Catholic circles for her prophecy of a coming “three days of darkness.” As part of her stigmata, Jahenny, who died in 1941, and was in the Third Order of Saint Francis, experienced the crown of thorns (“corona”), as well as the hand, feet, and shoulder wounds of Jesus Crucified (allegedly). This becomes more curious yet when one considers an odd prophecy-remedy the mystic, quoting Jesus during an ecstasy, made: “You will take an infusion of St John’s Wort especially during crisis, sufferings of the chest and violent headaches. Hawthorn for cholera.” Some have taken hawthorn to be a remedy not just for cholera but for epidemics in general, and though there is certainly no medical evidence whatsoever for this, it is peculiar that the berries, juice, and wine from the hawthorn have long been used as herbal remedies in traditional Chinesemedicine. There are indications that hawthorn berries, packed with antioxidants and polyphenols, can have a positive effect on blood pressure (an “underlying issue” in Wuhan in coronavirus deaths), heart failure (in the U.S., the coronavirus has caused effects in some cases that mimic a heart attack), diabetes (another underlying issue cited in the current pandemic), some infections, inflammation (it is the inflammatory effect on the lungs that causes the greatest problems with corona), and asthma (those with asthma and other respiratory problems are particularly at risk). We cite all these as curiosities (and curiosities only). Let us note that odds are great that while natural remedies can improve certain conditions, there is no evidence whatsoever that hawthorn or anything at this point can halt an acute assault by something like the SARS-COVID-19 virus — anything that is but prayer and fasting. That — quarantining oneself “in the desert” — can, if God so wills, remedy anything. https://spiritdailyblog.com/commentary/whats-in-a-word ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ And from the recent message of Jesus to Luz de Maria, Mar. 20th, 2020: ......... My beloveds, you have entered stormy waters, the waters that humanity itself has attracted like a magnet. For forty days and forty nights the water from Heaven caused the flood ... For forty years the People of Israel walked in the desert ... For forty days and forty nights I was in the desert ... (Gen 7,17; Jos 5,6; Mt 4,1-11), AND TODAY, THIS GENERATION MUST GO INTO SECLUSION FOR FORTY DAYS AND NIGHTS, IN THE MIDST OF LENT. My Wish is that this would be a time for reinvigorating love in families. May this time be one of unity, of charity, of forgiveness, of understanding, since the spirit of evil is prowling in order to tempt you and to cause division among those who strive for the common good. May this Lenten season, which will be extended, be conducive for families to look each other in the eye again, and to share anew what they have stopped sharing, since toing and froing has separated them. May this be a time for you to examine yourselves internally, to value life, to reorient yourselves in a direction opposite to that in which this generation is going, and may this not be something momentary, as THIS TIME HAS BEEN WRITTEN WITH INDELIBLE INK. YOU HAVE SEEN EVENTS ADVANCING BEFORE YOUR EYES AT A QUICKENED PACE. WITHOUT A WORD, YOU HAVE BOWED YOUR HEADS AND HAVE OBEYED INSTRUCTIONS COMING FROM THE HEIGHTS OF HUMAN POWER. YOU ONLY SEE THE PRESENT MOMENT, YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF SEEING BEYOND IT. You must obey faced with the plague: fiercer ones will come, but at the moment, the world elite has been testing humanity’s reaction, and those who dominate will use this virus for establishing their power over humanity.
City of Medugorje in Quarantine, Nuns and Monks Coronavirus Positive MARCH 30, 2020 5:15 PM The new focal point of the coronavirus epidemic in Herzegovina is the city of Medjugorje, is stated during the press conference in Mostar on Monday. Due to the appearance of coronaviruses in Medjugorje, “Mother’s Village” and a nuns’ monastery were put into complete quarantine, confirmed the head of the Infectious Diseases Department of SKB Mostar Jurica Arapovic, Klix.ba news portal reports. He said the monastery had about twenty monks and nuns, saying that everyone had milder symptoms at the beginning of March. “Some of them have been tested, not all of them, and they are positive for Covid 19. It’s an open religious system. The nun has been in contact with the Mother’s Village as well, and that house with the monks and the Mother’s Village is also being quarantined, ” said Arapovic. He stressed that they are currently testing primary contacts who are at high risk for acquiring Covid-19. ”Of those 18, currently three are in our hospital, one nurse is on a respirator, with a severe and uncertain prognosis, in critical condition, ” Arapovic added. Speaking about coronavirus foci in Herzegovina, he expressed concern about the fact that foci are being opened without an epidemiological background.
Reports are beginning to roll in about false negative Coronavirus test results... If You Have Coronavirus Symptoms, Assume You Have the Illness, Even if You Test Negative Harlan M. Krumholz, M.D. The New York TimesApril 1, 2020 Laurie Kuypers, a registered nurse, reaches into a car to take a nasopharyngeal swab from a patient at a drive-through COVID-19 coronavirus testing station for University of Washington Medicine patients Tuesday, March 17, 2020, in Seattle. The appointment-only drive-through clinic began a day earlier. Health authorities in Washington reported more COVID19 deaths in the state that has been hardest hit by the outbreak. (AP Photo/Elaine Thompson) You had some exposures that may put you at risk for coronavirus. A few days later you come down with a bad cough yourself and feel a little short of breath and really tired. You take your temperature: 101 degrees. A fever. You suspect you might have COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. The days roll into each other and your doctor urges you to stay home unless your condition worsens. You feel pretty bad, though, and finally get an appointment. They test you for influenza by sticking a swab far up your nose and you are told the test came back negative, you don’t have flu. They tell you they are saving the COVID-19 tests for those who are even worse off than you are. You go home with a prescription for antibiotics, possibly because they don’t know what else to do, and read about celebrities who are testing positive but don’t seem so sick. A couple of days later, still with fevers, you go back, and the doctors relent and test you for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. They again stick something up your nose to what feels like the bottom of your eyeball. They tell you that the results will be available in a couple of days and you go home and wait. Finally, the results come back and you are told you do not have COVID-19. Now what? This is a real patient’s story. In fact, it is a lot of people’s story — at least some version of it. Across the world, people with signs and symptoms of COVID-19 are testing negative and wondering what it means. They are not showing up in the statistics and they are left in limbo about what to do next. The problem may be with the test. Current coronavirus tests may have a particularly high rate of missing infections. The good news is that the tests appear to be highly specific: If your test comes back positive, it is almost certain you have the infection. The most common test to detect the coronavirus involves a process known as reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, or RT-PCR, a jumble of words that describes a method capable of detecting virus particles that are generally present in respiratory secretions during the beginning of an infection. From a technical standpoint, under ideal conditions, these tests can detect small amounts of viral RNA. In the real world, though, the experience can be quite different and the virus can be missed. The best the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention can say is that if you test negative, “you probably were not infected at the time your specimen was collected.” The key word there is “probably.” False-negative test results — tests that indicate you are not infected, when you are — seem to be uncomfortably common. Increasingly, and disturbingly, I hear a growing number of anecdotal stories from my fellow doctors of patients testing negative for coronavirus and then testing positive — or people who are almost certainly infected who are testing negative. Unfortunately, we have very little public data on the false-negative rate for these tests in clinical practice. Research coming out of China indicates that the false-negative rate may be around 30%. Some of my colleagues, experts in laboratory medicine, express concerns the false-negative rate in this country could be even higher. There are many reasons a test would be falsely negative under real-life conditions. Perhaps the sampling is inadequate. A common technique requires the collection of nasal secretions far back in the nose — and then rotating the swab several times. That is not an easy procedure to perform or for patients to tolerate. Other possible causes of false negative results are related to laboratory techniques and the substances used in the tests. So, where does that leave us? Even with more testing, we are likely to be underestimating the spread of the virus. For now, we should assume that anyone could be carrying the virus. If you have had likely exposures and symptoms suggest COVID-19 infection, you probably have it — even if your test is negative. We should all continue to practice the behaviors — rigorous hand washing, not touching the face, social distancing — that impede its spread. And we need better information about the performance of these tests — including any new tests that are introduced — in the real world. Even as better tests emerge, we should always put the test result in the context of the other information we have. It’s a lesson that endures throughout medicine: Look at the big picture, not a single piece of data. Triangulate on the truth, using all the sources of information you have, no matter how good a single test. And don’t be shy about questioning a conclusion that doesn’t fully fit the facts.
Thank you Beth B. I have used the blessing and placed an image of Merciful Jesus on the front door. It was a lovely act of faith, while remembering how people entrusted their homes to Merciful Jesus during the second World War, when they were forced to leave and later came back to find their homes safe and intact.
