Yes Miker…antibodies show up for a average of a year..often for years! Even when the number of antibodies decreases, that’s normal. If they didn’t, your blood would be too think. They go to sleep as it were and they will wake back up and increase in number when your “T” cells kick into action. Your T cells aren’t included in your antibody test, but they are there to stimulate your antibodies should you get exposed again.
Thanks Beth. I actually work in the diagnostic space so definitely familiar with T and B cells. I believe tests are in development to measure the T and B cells you mentioned. I may be completely out of touch here because of the political insanity, but would love to see antibody and then these T & B cell tests become widely used… to demonstrate “immunity” and no need for a vac.
Yes Mike…they are saying these test for T cell presence is expensive and they are not being made available. Like you, I wish they were as there documented presence in your blood test verifies your continued immunity. Maybe they will develop a less costly test that as you suggest can be used rather than the vax!
