I’ve looked into this at quite some length as I helped review and edit a paper on this very topic.
Has anyone heard of or tried the nasal spray called Xlear? I have read before that using a saline nasal wash results in a negative PCR test, but this one has saline, xylitol and extracts of grapefruit seeds. It's being promoted in several places as being effective for sars-cov 2 virus too. Yes, I got some bottles of Xlear after reading about it on the forum (probably earlier in this thread). I don't normally have reason to use nasal sprays but I use that whenever there's a possibility of being more exposed to infection such as before and after a visit to the dentist or hairdresser.
Yes. It amazes me just how compliant the Irish are. I was thrown out of a McDonald's in Sligo for not wearing a mask. And similarly out of a Spar in Leitrim recently. It somehow doesn't seem so tight here in the North, I never wear a mask anywhere and no one bats an eyelid. Saying that, we're a bit behind the South. We've only had the Vax passport introduced this past week or so. So I'd expect the fear and associated paranoia to multiply up here too. Some people seem just to want to live in fear.
I'm amazed also. Whatever happened to the fighting Irish. My son and his wife and kids recently went into Burger King. He and the kids sat at a table whilst she ordered and went to pay. She was asked for her vaccine passport and when she didn't have it she was told she would have to take the food and eat elsewhere. They decided no they wouldn't take the food as takeaway and left. There were no other customers in the place. I feel like I'm living in a parallel universe. This morning I heard the Archbishop of Canterbury said anyone not taking the vaccine is immoral. The head of the HSE said 56% of people in ICU are unvaccinated. I don't know what to believe anymore.
I really don't know how it happened. They say that when we lost the faith, we took government as our God. I'd say this isn't far wrong. I know a lot of smart, down to earth people... who are absolutely brain-washed by it all. That's not to diminish the potency of the actual disease itself (for it is rough) - but rather to highlight the fear mentality that surrounds the vaccines, the restrictions, and the embracing of our continued loss of freedoms. I look at these people and somehow don't recognize them anymore, family members included. Its insanity.
I saw this not too long ago….it talks about Budesonide which I never heard of. Looks like he recommends nebulizing, but then further in article (copied below) he talks about using OTC nasal sprays - soecufucally mentions a brand called Rhinocort. The fact that it was published in The Lancet gives me more confidence…but yiu never know. I does make common sense to me on both the nasal spray and gargling…especially with Omicron as from what I’ve read it appears to go more “above the neck” into nasal passages and throat. So perhaps these two simple steps would be helpful?
