Excess deaths in the UK increased 5 months after mass COVID booster campaign https://www.naturalnews.com/2022-09-02-excess-deaths-uk-increase-5mos-covid-booster.html
Our bishop sent word out, Sunday past, that communion on the tongue is now permitted. I delightedly received it at that very mass, on the tongue. The woman giving it out reluctantly gave it to me... she paused however before giving it to me. She was obviously caught unawares but being a nice woman, she ceded to 'the surprise' of my request. At mass on Thursday morning past, the sacristan (a different person) was giving out communion. And when I again went to receive on the tongue; she refused me saying, "I can't". Caught unawares and not wishing to offend My Lord, I did not make a big deal out if it. I simply received in my hands. When later reflecting on it however; I remain baffled. Firstly, if you're a sacristan, you should give way to church direction. There can't be discussion on this. But more, much much more... If we are people of faith, we trust in Jesus: we die only when he says so. Not one second before or after. We are to have total and complete faith in him. I am disappointed. His words spring to mind, "Be still and know that I am God" On a similar note, I see holy water has made 'a comeback '. But it saddens me when people ignore the font, and squirt the disinfectant on their hands instead. I wonder at Irish priests and people of today. We are the people of mass rocks and penal laws. The people who risked death to hear a mass. What has happened to us.....
On the other hand there is the great goodness of the people around us in Church. One of my very Great Hobbies is when I am at Mass in the the morning is, 'Spot the Saint'. My guess is that there is at least one saint at every mass we go to and I try to spot them. It keeps me positive. Which for the most shocking old crank like me is the greatest blessing. Try it and see. You'll be surprised what you notice.
On the one hand there are terrible , terrible bad and evil things going on in the Church at the moment. But on the other hand there are very, very many holy and wonderful things going on too. A for instance I believe there are more and greater saints in the world then ever before.
What diocese can I ask allowed you to receive on the tongue? In the Diocese of Meath I have been refused that over the last two Sundays.
Both Navan and Johnstown Churches in Meath administer Holy Communion on the tongue. In fact Johnstown never stopped it during Covid
Just a question. If you are not vaccinated can you spread the virus if you have no symptoms. People have told me that some people test positive even though they have no symptoms. Is this just a scam?
"I believe this is why God gave us two arms. One for the flu shot and the other one for the Covid shot"
A lot of Doctors and Scientists say that the PCR test is a scam. The truth will come out that if you are unvaccinated and have no symptoms, you can not spread the virus...
The Leading Cause of Death in Alberta, Canada at the moment is, 'Unknown'. 'Unknown' cause of Death being 7 times higher than it was in Precovid 2019 and causes more deaths than strokes and cancer combined. 3362 deaths. In 2019 it was 500.
It is similar here in my area, also. This is very much a USA phenomenon, I believe. It is also a matter of convenience and cost. Of the graveside committals I've presided at this year over half were cremated. Catholic teaching upholds the dignity of a deceased loved one's body because of the reality of the resurrection of the body (Apostle's Creed). The Church, however, now specifically allows for cremation, so what was considered an exception is rapidly becoming a norm here in the USA. This is why funeral Masses are now becoming rarer because the costs of caskets, funeral Masses, etc. can be bypassed. A brief service in the funeral home replaces Holy Mass. Convenience and cost savings have replaced honoring the dignity of the body and the stupendous grace of Holy Mass. The Church doesn't preach this from the pulpit and ends up not preaching it ever. So very, very sad.
You are right, Mario, you never hear any preaching on this topic. I had to explain this to my children when our relative passed. True, funerals and burials are costly, but I can't wrap my head around Catholic families cutting out the funeral Mass. This all started during the pandemic when they closed funeral homes, and churches.
I had a personal experience when my mother asked me to plan for her funeral. (She is 96 years young). My siblings tried to encourage her to go the route of cremation. One of my sisters, actually got intact with me to try and discourage her. I think that's why my mother asked me for support! No turning around now all bought and paid for.
