    I have printed it, highlighted a few areas and will give a copy to my Dad. It may be eye opening for him.

    Anyway; here is the view of Sensum Fidelium.

    It is good to recall that the Tradition of the Church to oppose Cremation lasted nearly 2,000 years.

    The Tradition of Sanctioning Cremation is only 40 years old. So that is something to reflect on.

    1 Corinthians 6:19
    Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

    Just wanted to give this a bump.

    I have a number of Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and Catholic friends on another forum. Our Lady of Soufaniyeh keeps coming to mind.

    Something about her. A Mother who just wants all of her kids to be pure, and holy, and to be One.

    I'm not comfortable, at all, with cremation, but a new factor is now emerging. This is the cost, particularly in cities, of cemetery plots. This is a great burden on the poor who can struggle to put together the price of a grave. The cost for poor people who die abroad and wish to be brought home for burial must also be considered. There seems to be an increase in peoples' ashes being flown home and buried.

    Then, the influence of children too tight to pay for a burial can't be discounted. One might be advised to make it very clear to everyone that burial is one's chosen option.

    I realise I'm late to the game with this response. I hope I manage to be more prompt about publicising my wishes for disposal of my body, when the time comes!

    Hey, guys, just wanted to post this;

    Myrna Nazzour, at a Syriac Orthodox Church in Montreal, Canada.

    Her simplicity and humility are striking. What a lovely lady!
