I use St Louis consecration prayer 3 times a year on Marian Feast days.I make a daily consecration, just a short prayer and try to add May every beat of my Heart renew My Consecration in time and Eternity! Promises of dying in the brown scapular...many others. I don't really worry about what to do in my last hour,so many variables to how we leave this earth, will I have speech to cry out loud will I be even conscious? say a sincere prayer for your last hour,If you say a Hail Mary you ask Her over and over again, for all we have is Now and the Hour of our death : )
Don't forget to pray to St. Joseph for a happy death! He is the patron of a happy death because at his death he was surrounded Jesus and Mary. God and the Mother of God! God Bless!
The Fifteen Promises of Mary Granted to those who Recite the RosaryThe Glory of St Dominic Guido Reni 1613 A.D. Fresco San Domenico, Bologna The Blessed Virgin Mary promised to Saint Dominic and to all who follow that "Whatever you ask in the Rosary will be granted." She left for all Christians Fifteen Promises to those who recite the Holy Rosary. Imparted to Saint Dominic and Blessed Alan Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive signal graces. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies. The Rosary will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire for eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenititude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death. All who recite the Rosary are my sons and daughters, and brothers and sisters of my only Son Jesus Christ. Devotion of my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.
[quote="Bernadette, Don't forget to pray to St. Joseph for a happy death! ........... God Bless![/quote] I wear poor St Joseph out ... and my Guardian Angel too about a Happy Death ... but I also must admit, in my weakness, that I request a quick-n-easy death too. I also "Bug" St Joseph anytime I tackle a Home Fix-It Project ... he was a Carpenter ... Ya Know ;-) GOD GRANT ALL HERE A HAPPY DEATH!!
Never forget your BAPTISM and its True meaning....So much Hope! http://www.usccb.org/beliefs-and-te...techism-of-the-catholic-church/epub/index.cfm# CCC 1272 Incorporated into Christ by Baptism, the person baptized is configured to Christ. Baptism seals the Christian with the indelible spiritual mark (character) of his belonging to Christ. No sin can erase this mark, even if sin prevents Baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation.83 Given once for all, Baptism cannot be repeated CCC 1014 The Church encourages us to prepare ourselves for the hour of our death. In the ancient litany of the saints, for instance, she has us pray: “From a sudden and unforeseen death, deliver us, O Lord”;588 to ask the Mother of God to intercede for us “at the hour of our death” in the Hail Mary; and to entrust ourselves to St. Joseph, the patron of a happy death. Our Last Hour, Take comfort in Our Lords promise, he himself will also come ! Taken from RSVCE Bible John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? John 14:3 And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

My late mother said a prayer every day consecration the last 2 hours of her life to Our Lady. She suffered from dementia for the last 4 years before her death and lived with us during that time. On the day of her death she suddenly death developed pneumonia. She became very lucid and cognizant of everything. I called the priest even though I didn't think she was going to die. At 1pm I started the rosary with her then we said the Chaplet of Mercy. The priest arrived at 2 pm and anointed her. He stayed chatting with us and she was so relaxed. He left at 2.45 about and at 3 she closed her eyes and breathed her last. She had a beautiful last 2 hours. It was just what she wished for.
A holy death and with a priest alongside , what could be better? Thank God for devotion to Mary. No one, I believe will ever go to hell who has a devotion to Mary. It's just impossible.
My mother In Law died some months ago aged 103. Mentally she was always ok. She loved being the oldest person in the parish and was very much a people person. Like all her generation of Irish women she was very devoted to the Mass and sacraments and prayed the rosary every day. In her last year she developed cancer and suffered a lot. She said it was good to suffer and turned down pain relief for a few weeks and only accepted it in the final week or two. Towards the end she told my daughter that she saw herself being crucified with Jesus. She felt her feet and hands being nailed and saw the sword being plunged into her heart. She was practical lady not given to imaginings. She was filled with joy coming up to the end and love was pouring out to any of us that went to see her. I often pray to her for family members. I feel she went to heaven quickly. Her final days were filled with joy
Consecrating the two last hours of our life to the most holy virgin. Prostrated at thy feet, and humiliated by my sins, but full of confidence in thee, O Mary! I beg thee to accept the petition my heart is about to make. It is for my last moments. Dear Mother I wish to request thy protection and maternal love so that in the decisive instant that thou wilt do all thy love can suggest in my behalf. To thee, O Mother of my soul, I consecrate THE LAST TWO HOURS of my life. Come to my side to receive my last breath and when death has cut the thread of my days, tell Jesus, presenting to Him my soul, "I LOVE IT". That word alone will be enough to procure for me the benediction of my God and the happiness of seeing thee for all eternity. I put my trust in thee, my Mother and hope it will not be in vain. O Mary! Pray for thy child and lead him to Jesus! Amen.
