I've been meaning to ask this for a longtime ago, I watched Fr. Chad Ripperger's video on the four temperaments, and really helped me better understand the various issues I'm facing. I've found out I have unique Melancholic-Phlegmatic-Choleric Blend, which this sight here, (http://fourtemperaments.com/15-temperament-blends/#1457401211181-b6d0e69c-1399) refers to as "The Idealist," so it might be the type of temperament those college snowflakes have! Anyways, Fr. Chad Ripperger said the goal, in regards to the temperaments is to have all of the virtuous aspects of the temperaments and none of the defects. So on the positive side of my temperament blend, if I can develop the virtuous aspects of the Sanguine Temperament, that would be a great step forward in overcoming my sins and vices. So does anyone have any advice on how to develop Sanguinity?
RW...I didn't delve into this to much so if I read it wrong.. it sounds as if you are a introvert...and by virtue of your temperament a so called "control freak" . You may feel tension, anxiety or stress in loose end situations. This is ok. I'm making a lot of assumptions but perhaps your trying to travel a road less rigid? If this is so...then you are looking for one word that might help...Trust...to go outside the lines requires Trust...specifically in God's Providence. Does this help or did I get it totally wrong?
No, you've actually got it fairly right, this does actually touch on several issues I have and several things I have been trying to work on. Your advice might actually prove to be more helpful, or at the very least, more practical done working on developing sanguinity. I do have, am trying to develop a devotion to the Divine Mercy, and have been recently trying to get back into the habit of reading St. Fautsina's diary as way of developing Trust in the Lord.
Just know its ok to be you and God loves you just the way you are...your one of a kind...an original! Its good to strive to be a saint.
If you can find the time loads of time praying in Front of the Blessed Sacrament. I always come out feeling I have a Peace Bath. If you can't find tie for this, then try and find a special time for prayer and peace. I find walking and praying my own heaven; but everyone is different. The ROasry too is wonderful. Daily mass of course but I take this as a given.
