Thanks for trying to explain ETA.
I dont think I can really get over this ...'When living this new reality of living in the Divine Will the human will disappears....there is no concern for meriting anything since this experience is pure gift and can be gained by simply, at first, desire for it'.

Question: What place do the Sacraments occupy in the Divine Will, especially the Eucharist and Holy Orders?

Answer: The two Sacraments most emphasized throughout Luisa’s writings are that of the Eucharist and Holy Orders. It is noteworthy that all citations below are from Luisa’s text, taken from the ecclesiastically approved and published doctoral dissertation entitled, “The Gift of Living in the Divine Will, an Inquiry into the Early Ecumenical Councils, and into Patristic, Scholastic and Contemporary theology”.

First, the Eucharist. To Luisa Jesus underscores the importance of receiving the Eucharist as often as the Church permits in order to advance and remain in his Divine Will.

    1) Jesus reveals to Luisa that he received the Eucharist in order to “do complete acts that would glorify the Father” (L. Piccarreta, volume 11, February 24, 1917).

    2) Jesus reveals to Luisa that “in” the Eucharist is found the “complete fruit” of his sacramental life (Ibid.).

    3) Jesus reveals to Luisa that “in” the Eucharist is contained “everything” souls need “to glorify his heavenly Father” and that all the divine acts souls all called to do (Ibid.).

    4) Jesus reveals to Luisa that the soul must possess Jesus’ sacramental life in the Eucharist in order to possess his “works” (L. Piccarreta, volume 31, November 13, 1932).

    5) Jesus reveals to Luisa that whenever she receives the Eucharist, she receives all the acts of his humanity, those of his Blessed Mother and those of all souls who live in his Will; these acts surround each Sacramental Host (Ibid.). Such acts are “inseparable” from him, are “incorporated” in him and are “part of his own life” (Ibid.). As in heaven the angels and saints surround the throne of God and glorify the Most Holy Trinity, so on earth said divine acts surround and glorify God in the Most Holy Eucharist.

    6) Jesus reveals to Luisa that she must receive the Eucharist in his Divine Will in order to “unite it to his humanity” and, by this means, “enclose everything” and contain “the reparations of everyone, the compensation of everyone, and his own satisfaction” (L. Piccarreta, volume 11, November 13, 1915).

    7) Jesus reveals to Luisa that the soul who does his Divine Will “is with him in the Tabernacle, and shares in his pains on account of the indifference, the irreverence and all else that souls in his Sacramental Presence do” (Ibid., volume 12, July 4, 1917). So, while the power of the Sacraments derives from the Divine Will that actualizes in the soul the gift of Living in the Divine Will, the same Divine Will leads souls to the Eucharist where they remain “with Him in the Tabernacle”.

Below are more thorough citations from Luisa’s text taken from the said doctoral dissertation:

“My daughter, in this small circumference of the Host I enclose everything. And this is why I wanted to receive Myself: To do complete acts that would glorify My Father worthily, and to enable souls to receive a God. And I gave to souls the complete fruit of My sacramental life, lest it be incomplete for the Father’s glory and for the good of souls. This is why in each Host there are My prayers, thanksgivings and all else that is needed to glorify My Father, and which souls were supposed to do for Me (Ibid., volume 11, February 24, 1917).

“As I make you the possessor of My sacramental life [the Eucharist], I make you the possessor of all of My works. In this way, if you wish you can find much to offer Me, as you have My works in your power. What is more, My sacramental life, which you receive in the Sacred Host is surrounded by the acts My humanity accomplished when I received Myself when instituting the Most Blessed Sacrament; it is surrounded by the acts My heavenly Mother accomplished when she received Me sacramentally; it is surrounded by all the acts of those who live of My Will — which are inseparable from Me and which remain incorporated in Me as part of My own life. So, you can give Me everything, which will help to cover your misery, to compensate for your [lack of] love, and to keep you from otherwise feeling ashamed on account of your having come to Me without anything to offer Me. On the contrary, you can avail yourself of all of these acts by offering them to Me, and so, you can please Me and love Me. For these acts bilocate and become your acts and My acts, the acts of the Holy Queen and those of the souls who live by My Will in such a way that I, instead of having [only] one [person to offer Me these acts], I have more. By this means, My sacramental life remains surrounded by redoubled acts, redoubled love and by greater glory” (Ibid., volume 31, November 13, 1932).

“You My daughter are to receive it [Holy Communion] in My Will; unite it to My humanity. In this way, you will enclose everything, thereby allowing Me to discover within you the reparations of everyone, the compensation of everyone, and My satisfaction — or rather, to discover you once again in Me” (Ibid., volume 11, November 13, 1915).

“My daughter, you too can form hosts and consecrate them. Do you know what the garment is that veils Me in the Most Blessed Sacrament? It is the accidents of the bread with which the host is formed. The life, which dwells in this Host, is My Body, Blood [, soul] and divinity. The operation that enables the Host to contain this life is that of My Supreme Will, and this Will carries out the love, reparation, immolation and all else that I do in this Sacrament, which never moves one point from My Will. Indeed, nothing comes from Me that is not preceded by My Will" (Ibid, volume 11, December 17, 1914).

“My daughter, one who does My Will is with Me in the tabernacle, and shares in My pains on account of the indifference, the irreverence and all else that souls in My sacramental presence do” (Ibid., volume 12, July 4, 1917).

This is why in each Host there are My prayers, thanksgivings and all else that is needed to glorify My Father, and which souls were supposed to do for Me. So if the soul falters, I nonetheless continue My designs in each Host as if I were receiving Myself again for each soul. Therefore, the soul must transform itself into Me, to form one single operation with Me, making My life, My prayers, My groans of love, My pains and My fiery heartbeats its own — the fiery heartbeats with which I wish to ignite them. But I find no one who abandons himself as prey to the loving flames of My Heart. In this Host I am reborn, I live, I die and I consume Myself, but I find no one who consumes himself for Me. Yet if the soul repeats what I do, I feel My life reenacted, as if I were receiving Myself once again, and I find complete glory, divine joys and outpourings of love that match Mine, whereby I impart to the soul the grace of being consumed in My own consummation” (Ibid., volume 11, February 24, 1917).

Jesus’ words to Luisa affirm that when the properly disposed soul fruitfully receives the Eucharist, Jesus empowers it to multiply itself in everyone,1 whereby it gives him “complete glory”. 2 Because Jesus’ Will “contains all the power of all the Sacraments combined”, 3 reception of the Sacraments procures for the soul a new encounter with him and an increased participation in his Divine Will. As noted, Luisa acknowledges that the divine acts that await their actualization in all humans4 are present in every sacramentally consecrated Host. 5

  3. Gobbledegook to my simple brain Leo but at least you tried. It says nothing of the Faith I have come to love and know. Unless you are like little children etc etc.
Apart from anything else Luisa is far to verbose for her own good or mine. It's like she has adopted the occult practice of automatic writing which is already condemned. I feel infected just reading it and find no peace in it. . In cases like this I trust in the penny catechism and follow the advice of my peers K.I.S.S. Just my opinion and perception.

Leo I can understand Joes concerns,

However I believe if we read between the lines and try to understand what Lusia is really saying it is a teaching that the Church has always taught.

Take just two points that you stated above....

    1) Jesus reveals to Luisa that he received the Eucharist in order to “do complete acts that would glorify the Father” (L. Piccarreta, volume 11, February 24, 1917).

    And

    I can see that when Lusia states that Jesus wanted to receive the Blessed Eucharist in order to do complete acts that would Glorify the Father;

what she really meant was..... only Jesus could do Complete acts that Glorified the Father! because Jesus is God and He did not need to recieve the Blessed Sacrament but He instituted the Blessed Sacrament for us, so we too, after recieving Him in the Blessed Sacrament, can do Complete acts to Glorify the Father.

By saying that she can form hosts and consecrate them, what she meant.... is after we consume Jesus in the Blessed Sacramental Host that is Consecrated, we are then formed into the image and likeness of Jesus Himself, when in a state of grace!

And if read it this way, it is not outside the teachings of the Church!

Writing was Luisa's greatest cross, and she only did it because she was given the obedience to do so by each of her successive confessors. Toward the end of her life that obedience was removed, and she never wrote another word.

You have determined that this spirituality is not from God. What if you are wrong? Better to walk away than to risk disparaging an instrument of God and a work He desires.

    Dear Kathy and Leo,
I am not really happy having to change Lusia words to accomodate the truth.
and I am seaching for the truth here.

I live my own little Divine Will devotion but I also believe many do and have in the distant past and still remained faithful to all the Churchs teachings.

There are things I can't get my head around in Lusia writings.
And I shouldn't try and read between lines.
    This is not my Job.

I appreciate your faith and I appreciate the faith of all on the forum and I know that many of those that question Lusias writings are wonderful good Catholics with probably the same questions as myself.

God Bless us One and All

  8. This is a valuable thread to me, so I thank all of you who are discussing it. I'm just riding along.

In the 90's, I bought a dozen of the small books, as I had a friend who was always talking about it and I wanted to understand it. Then it wasn't what I expected, it was downright unintelligible to me, and I'm fairly used to reading saint's material.

Over the years I kept trying to read them and never got very far each time. I'd take them on over long winter nights, and every time would literally get the worst headaches, repeatedly exclaiming, "This doesn't sound right", "This can't be right", "I can't understand this", and would occasionally feel so sickened by something I was reading that I would once again give it up for another day... another year.

So I lean towards Joe's sentiments (I was relieved to see that I was not the only one), that isn't (complete) Life in Christ supposed to be easily embraced by those with a simple heart and mind? I have to claim that, every time I delve into Luisa, and throw myself on the Mercy of a Christ Who (hopefully) doesn't require me to have such a complex mind.

But, I read with interest here because I do accept that it could just be the translation that puts me off (not just language translation, but Heaven-to-human translation) , that it may verily be something that is right and true and coming from Heaven. It may be the Will that is to make up the New Era -- I don't know, I'm carefully open to it.

If it is, I can only simply say to God that if He wants it, I want it, too -- but He'll need to smooth the way for me, because I only bog down and need a pain pill.

So I don't want to miss the boat, if it's His Will, but the bottom line there is: why would He oh-so-quietly present us with a necessary plan that most of us "can't get"? (Rhetorical question -- I'll just keep reading, and I'll thank you for your continued discussion.)

Most of the world doesn't even have their understanding of "Christianity 101" yet, so if I can not fathom this stuff... and I'm not an idiot (I don't think)...

    Just my thoughts.

I had the same feeling toward Luisa's writing for years. I couldn't get through a brief biography before feeling totally repulsed. I never even got to her writings. Then one day, through the forum, I re-visited these teachings and the light came on. And I can testify to the effects in my own life over the past 2.5 years trying to live this way.

Father Robert Young talks about how he came to this spirituality. He said a priest friend he trusted told him, "If you miss this, you'll spend your eternity kicking yourself." So he trudged through the writings for 3 years, praying for understanding. Then one day, he was given the grace.

So believe me, I fully understand those who don't get this spirituality or are repulsed by it. I've been there. And I appreciate that you, and others, are humbly open to the idea that this might be desired by God and simply not understood by the individual.

What I don't "get" is the ferocity with which some attack this spirituality. Remember, a canonized Saint served as her editor and obtained the imprimatur for the first 19 volumes of "the Book of Heaven". St. Hannibal de Francia promoted the "24 Hours of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ" written by Luisa. When he shared these meditations with Pope St. Pius X, at a certain point the Pope interrupted him and said: "Father, this book must be read kneeling down, it is Jesus who speaks!" Also, Luisa's life as a victim soul is well documented. She lived only on the Eucharist for decades. Her cause for beatification is moving forward.

Even so, if this teaching repulses or confuses, why not just ignore it?

Leo, I have come across this quote...."I want my priests to promote these writings … Not doing this, their crime will be no less than if a prophet had hidden my redemption, the cause of so much good. So to stifle my divine will, the result of ultimate sanctification, or to hold it in suspension, a good so great. Is this not a crime?"

  11. I do not condemn Luisa. The only good I intend on commenting in her is to help others exposed to her writings and their interpretations on this forum. I hope to help them avoid danger. God looks to the intention of the heart - mine included- my words may have been harsh and they may have been wrong but they were honest. No offense meant to anyone here. I am not being obtuse but I do have the impression of errancy in Luisa's writings. Some of it I find a little sick like when she talks about Jesus asking her which parts of her body she would like him to beat. Very strange.

To answer your last question one only has to read the first book of the bible, Genesis and see that God made us in his image and likeness with a mind and a will. God has a plan and he brings about part of it to our awareness over time and in His time. Even in heaven new revelations from God will occur throughout eternity. I think often times we fail in our joirney when we close doors to new light coming from the Holy Spirit. It is best to pray about things we don't understand. This is what Verne Dagenais did and God taught him how to understand what he could not understand through prayer, in what became known in a book called God Speaks Will You Listen (GSWYL), which can be down loaded and printed online. Good to remember God's mind and ways are infinite and ours are finite.

Kathy K, I also am having difficulties with just understanding what is being said. I haven't even tried to read her writings yet but I'm having some success listening to Father J Iannuzzi and his painstaking introduction to this great work on his video.

I learned a long time ago to suspect myself inadequate and not blame the book or saint. My priest always said to pay attention to what is placed before you but grant God the timing of your enlightenment. With Luisa Piccarreta, I think I need to take baby steps.

Thanks to everyone who offers help in understanding this great work.

  14. Unfortunately the way the writings of Luisa came to the public, due to some being approved for reading and some not available as yet it was an approach that was a bit chopped up. Some groups that started years ago then began studying them piecemeal, taking portions and attempting to somehow intellectually make sense of the whole. There can't be a flow of natural comprehension that way, using the mind alone. This spirituality is like nothing that has ever come before so people simply cannot use anything familiar of what they would normally use to measure such ideas. So don't be alarmed if you can't satisfy the logic of past thinking in this wholly new concept. I found that reading Fr. Iannuzzi's shorter books about the New Era of this Divine Will, quoting Luisa amongst those approved mystics who also foretold of this totally new spirituality as well as the examples of those known to have at least partially lived in the Divine Will like St. Faustina or Dina Belanger. You at least come to the realization that you cannot comprehend such, as gift, without being educated via those instructions given to this first little daughter of such understanding through actually experiencing this always intended life, first given to Adam before he left the Divine Will the consequences of which got passed on to us. The Father never interrupted His intention for His creation from the beginning and continued this intention into our future to live once again according to His Will. After getting a general "feeling" for this new supernatural world to come "on earth as it is in heaven" one can get a more human understanding of just what it was like for Luisa herself to undergo all that was asked of her in this mission, a gradual learning, in and out, until fusion could take place, by reading Frank Rega's very gifted writing, 3 volumes so far, which take you through her own questioning with the challenging answers demanding sacrifice of what is known and what one feels comfortable and safe with. In order to take hold of this total gift one has to relinquish all attachments built into the flawed human will. The first volume is a bit foreign in its concepts but by the third one gets to amazingly broadened explanations of what so far is limited by our attachments to what has gone before. It takes a leap. This new Truth (as far as we are concerned with the tools we have now) is beyond what can be grasped now naturally due to the errors built into our human wills. This higher form of information links us to all creation and its purpose from the beginning to celebrate and give thanks to the Creator in unity "as was intended" from the beginning and interrupted only to be accomplished finally in the New Era. God's Will does not change....thank God!

    Earthtoangels,
Thank you for your response and for giving us a glimpse into how you see Lusia writings.

I suppose where I differ, is that I believe the gift of Our free will is the most magnificent gift God ever gave a creature! We are gifted with having a free choice to choose God or not. Angels and man have been given this wonderful gift! No other creature has this gift, not our dog or cat or any other animal or created thing.

So to freely choose God is what God initially intended, I see the gift of the free will as a special gift! that is not flawed or has errors built into it, as it is a God given gift, from a Good God who can't give a flawed gift!

I know you see, Lusia writings as indicating there is more knowledge and information needed before the New Era can come.

Where as I believe Jesus has already accomplished everything needed for our redemption and sanctification through His Cross and Resurrection and that we are to follow Him alone, through His Church into this Glorious New Era, by carrying our cross, with Him as we pilgrimage on through this valley of tears.

I wish you and all those living in the Divine Will, as Lusia teaches, Peace.

And I wish all those Living in the Divine Will, as taught by other saints, Peace as well.

    God Bless

In the story of the emperor's new clothes no-one wanted to be seen to be unable to see the royal robes. Sometimes I feel that no-one wants to be seen to be unable to see the all encompassing wisdom of Luisa's writings. So loyal subjects perform spiritual gymnastics to distract from its absence in their explanations of her meaning. Some of the works of Luisa that I have been shown contradict our Faith in its history and in its articles and in its tradition. Its that simple, just like St John's saying about love. Nothing complicated. A popular devotion should be easily understood and available to the minds and hearts of all. Instead of clothing our Faith in new arraignment, however, it leaves it naked and open to ridicule. (Unless of course, like Joseph Smith, you have magic glasses that help you see something else.) Like in the fable the ordinary folks will see and proclaim the truth. "He has no clothes on."
God forgive me if I am am wrong, but I can't see it. I do not accuse Luisa of lying but I think she is wrong.

  19. My intention re: the human will....not that the gift of free will itself as intended is imperfect.....but that our flawed human natures inherited by Adam's intentional misuse of that gift while he was living with all the preternatural gifts and the ability to give to the Creator all thanksgiving and praise in union with all of Creation...including the Cosmos, as intended and due to God, can influence as well the use of that gift as we have seen down the ages. The Warning will be a correction of all the attempts to rationalize that misuse and re-establish within consciences God's intention for its proper use. Due to all of the denial of graces along the way which has formed hearts hardened to the point of being beyond the ability to accept this great Grace before the time of only justice begins, the twisted human conscience in many will continue to use the gift of free will to serve the evil one until the time of the complete purification of this world. Many times our Blessed Mother has spoken to the need for change/conversion/reparation NOW before hearts can be hardened to this point of refusal of God's own time of this great Mercy to be offered.

I doubt if many are living in the Divine Will completely at this time but via the purification and being tried in the "flames" that will completely abolish any and all attachments to this current period those who enter into the Era of the Divine Will will have been formed to accept such an existence from then on and then completely live its reality. It is speculated by those who have studied the Divine Will that those born during this period of the New Era will be the ones who will still have to be tested in the future themselves during the final tribulation at which time Satan will have been released. Their parents will have already been tested during this time period of tribulation and purification.
