  1. I care about the West. People who live here care and we are Catholic. Such an ignorant thing to say.

I care about the West. I love my country even though heinous things are sometimes done in its name the people of this country for the most part are good generous people--people who are waking up to what is going on.

    A friend noted elsewhere:

“The Antichrist is preceded by the Two Witnesses and the bringing in of the fullness of the Gentiles, as well as the conversion of the Jews. A lot needs to happen first. Those who hold to an imminent arrival of the Antichrist usually hold to a millenarian interpretation of Scripture.”

That’s how I see it. And that was how Fr Gobbi interpreted it. He also said that this coming antichrist, before the last antichrist of the end of the world, is the one spoken more about in the Bible.

I also had the impression the last two Marian dogmas would be officially proclaimed. It also makes sense that Mary would be better known before the second coming of her Son; as His first coming was very much tied to the Virgin Mary so shall His second be.

I think one anti Christ coming we already know . That is the False anti Christ (Messiah) of Islam called the Mahdi. But the Mahdi is not THE anti Christ he is a type or shadow or foreshadowing of the actual Anti Christ who is to come.

I suspect the attack on Iran makes the appearance of the 'Mahdi ' very likely to occur soon and that the Mahdi will lead the attack of the conquest of Europe/

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful

Al-Mahdi (meaning “the guided one”) is a righteous leader who will appear in the last days of the Ummah, just before the descent of Jesus, peace be upon him. He will be from the prophetic lineage (Ahl al-Bayt) and will be forced to become Caliph by righteous believers in front of the Ka’bah. Allah will aid him with a miracle that will leave no doubt he is the long awaited figure.

Many leading hadith scholars, including Al-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, and Ibn Majah, have devoted chapters to reports about the Mahdi. Some scholars have said that the reports about him are unanimous (tawattur), confirming that this is indeed an essential prophecy in Islamic eschatology. However, like all eschatological matters of the Unseen, we need to properly contextualize the prophecy, sift the authentic narrations from the weak ones, and protect ourselves from impostors and pretenders who try to exploit it for their own gain.

The Mahdi, may Allah be pleased with him, will appear shortly before the second coming of Jesus, peace be upon him. Together they will fight against the False Messiah (al-Masiha al-Dajjal) and defeat him, which will signal the end of secular history and the beginning of an era of faith, peace, and justice on earth.

The ignorance lies not with me but you or simply a matter of how you interpret something so cool your boots. "The west" as a geo political entity is a horrid satanic mess at this point in history. If it is being pitted against "The East" as if it's somehow morally and spiritually superior then I completely reject that comparison. Next time perhaps ask for an explanation.

  9. I don't need an explanation, thank you.

When you think about it how much extra misery has entered upon the world due to the realpolitik of a succession of Popes since 1960. They had a clear order from the Blessed Virgin. Their disobedience is not to be taken lightly. JPII decrying the evil soviets and not wanting to give them certain strategic advantages is madness when looked at from the heavenly perspective. Even back then we were mass murdering the unborn in an unfathomable industrial scale and the church was filled with every filth and corruption. There are no black hats and white hats in the globalist satanic cabal.

Heard a priest once say since no one knows the hour except the Father like Jesus told us, that includes the evil one. So, the evil one makes sure to rise up antichrists in all generations just in case the hour does indeed come. This made so much sense to me. There is always an anitchrist and "the" antichrist is not necessarily any different than any other antichrist that has come before. What makes him "the" antichrist is he is the one that is here when the hour comes.

Reading this discussion made me think of something from Scripture. In 1 John 2:18, John the Apostle writes that “many antichrists have come.” In that sense, throughout history there have always been people or movements that oppose Christ or distort His truth.

At the same time, the Catholic Church teaches that before Christ returns there will also be a final trial for the Church in which a more definitive Antichrist appears. So both ideas exist in Christian teaching.

What this discussion reminds me of, though, is that the battle against the spirit opposed to Christ doesn’t only exist “out there” in the world or leaders. It also exists in our own hearts. Whenever I act without charity, humility, or truth, I am moving away from Christ.

Ultimately, the only thing any of us really has control over is our own response — striving to live the Gospel and grow in holiness. And I am also reminded I cannot do anything "good" of my own power but only through grace.

    Just a reflection.

    Peace to everyone here.

Yes, miker, properly speaking, the way we are living out our Catholic Faith today should fundamentally not change if the AntiChrist should rear his head tomorrow. Perhaps a few tweaks, but prayer, fasting, Holy Mass, Confession, so also the corporal and spiritual works of Mercy, should all be cultivated now.

Although the Fathers of the Church and the Saints give a fairly precise and consistent description of the actual anti Christ which could only be applied to one person, someone who has not yet come. For instance that his mother should be a Jewish prostitute and that he be totally evil and without light even from infancy. He will work miracles and wonders.

They even describe his physical appearance.

    AI Overview

Early Church Fathers described the Antichrist as a literal, historical figure—
a "Man of Lawlessness" and "Son of Perdition" empowered by Satan to mimic Christ. He was expected to be a Jewish leader from the tribe of Dan, rebuilding the Temple in Jerusalem to receive worship, and ruling as a tyrant for 3.5 years.
Key Aspects of the Antichrist in Patristic Thought:
    • Mimicry of Christ: Hippolytus of Rome noted that because Christ is a Lion, the Antichrist is a lion; as Christ is a King, the Antichrist is a king. He will appear as a lamb while acting as a wolf.
    • Deceiver: He will use false signs and wonders to deceive, aiming to be worshiped as God.
    • Origin and Rule: Many Fathers, including Irenaeus and Hippolytus, believed he would come from the tribe of Dan and establish a reign from a rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem.
    • Governmental Power: He was often viewed as a king or ruler who would rise from the ruins of the Roman Empire.
    • Lawlessness: He is described as the "Man of Sin" who rejects God's law, replacing it with his own, while persecuting Christians for 3.5 years.
    • Physical Features: Some ancient texts, such as those cited in this study from the Journal for the Study of the New Testament, suggested he would be "very ruddy" with a stye in his eye and specific, possibly symbolic, markings on his forehead, right hand, and left arm.
Fathers like St. John also noted that while one final, ultimate Antichrist is expected, there are many "antichrists" already present in the world who deny that Jesus is the Christ.
