The other morning after Mass I got shepherded off out of the Church by a gentleman, a friend who said they now had to close the Church because of the virus. He waits outside the Church each morning before Mass with little bottles of fluid to sprinkle on peoples hands and to ensure folks wear masks. I have never worn a mask and never will. But for some reason they have never questioned me. They also have these machines with which they spread the Church with some kind of awful gunk. As I got pushed out the door I suggested to him a new and more certain way to stop the virus. He looked very interested. If, I suggested were to sprinkle the Church with petrol and set it alight it might kill all the virus within, better still if it were filled with all the people who might be full of the virus themselves. He looked a little less enthusiastic. Here is a brilliant piece from Dr Steve Turley on why people are so risk adverse these days (it is basically because we are a Faithless generation).
an interesting point of the pandemic is that the Pentecostal Churches in Brazil that had promised healing of the faithful for years were put to the test in the worst possible way.
