By the way, I think you are right about the Masons, though I'd be inclined to call a spade a spade and call them Satanists.

    Concerning your two friends.

    Padraig,

What you say resonates with me. I don't know what the economic fallout in your beloved Ireland will be as things unravel, but that is why I put trust in God at the top of the list. Am I nervous? Yes, yet I believe that Jesus is my strength and that his peace will prevail in my heart. And so it will be with you: in rough times, your friends will become unglued with no sure anchor. In the dark hour ahead, your peaceful example will hopefully draw them back to Christ, the Faith, and the Church.

Hang in there and trust in God's awesome love for all of us!

Just in case you missed this in 'Spirit Daily':

    And...

Just a little note of caution.

I know little of the gentleman and his track record as a prophet. If he is as accurate as a Pat Robertson, what he says can be safely ignored. It is difficult to figure out when this prophecy was made. The data he includes comes from a fall report in 2007. If the prophecy dates from then, it creates an eerie feeling when reading that a crash occurs after a major bank goes under (Today's deal where JPM buys BS for a mere 240 mil was not a bailout).

Thanks for the post, Padraig. You all know my position. Things will get worse before they get better. Jesus can reach the unglued better than the lukewarm. I believe the Lord has chosen to allow the world to suffer the consequences of rebellion. May his mercy win many souls in this hour!

Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

I noticed in Spirit Daily today a little note saying Michael Brown does not endorse prophets of doom. I think he must be getting quite a lot of input at the minute.

    A shift.

Back in the 1990s the US Government modified the way in which the inflation rate is calculated. Currently, the official inflation rate is in single digits, while the actual inflation rate is around 11%. It appears the Federal Reserve has now chosen to prop up the banks and postpone a monetary collapse by expanding the money supply. It will allow inflation to continue to run rampant until such time that foreign investors choose to dump their dollars. At that point, hyperinflation will kick in and drag down the economy with it. From what I've read, the stagflation cycle (recession combined with inflation) will continue for a couple of years before the weaken currency will cause the dumping of dollars in 2010.

If any one has invested in precious metals, I would suggest you hold onto them. When hyperinflation kicks in, the value of gold should climb upwards to $2000/oz. and hold there at least for awhile until Ez 7:19 becomes a reality:

Their silver will be thrown away, and their gold will be like a dunghill. Their silver and their gold will have no power to free them in the day of the fury of the Lord.

    But fear not:

2Cor 8:9 You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ; though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, that through his poverty you might become rich.

    Carried over from the Coffeehouse.

I thought I'd copy this from the Lisbon Treaty Thread due to it's relavance.

    Darrell,

What can I say? The article simply presents facts that express what my fears have been for some time. I'm not claiming superior intelligence for what was only obvious. We will reap what we've sown.

The near-to-last sentence has already come home to roost as the Government's intervention into the Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae debacle unfolds:

...Government intervention in this natural process could lead to a decade long depression.

Lord have mercy! May your saving gospel find newly-receptive ears!

    Time to Act.

    Dear Friends,

Here are some facts that require immediate attention, especially in the USA:

    1) Financial institutions are under dire distress as evidenced by:

    a) the nationalization of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae
    b) the nationalization of AIG
    c) the collapse of Lehmann Bros.
    d) a precipituous drop in Global markets (ex. the Dow off 800 pts. this wk)

Most immediate for the low guy on the toetum pole (me!) is the Crisis at Washington Mutual. They have 181 billion in FDIC-backed deposits. They are close to going under. The FDIC only has 45 Billion in the till to cover FDIC deposits throughout the whole banking industry. The chance of a national run-on-the-banks has never been greater.

Conclusion: Don't take all of your cash out tomorrow, but it might be wise to have enough cash in your pockets to cover a month of expenses.

    God bless you all! LOL!

    Trepidation.

The following is an excerpt from the $700 billion Bailout Plan now in the works in the good 'ole USA. Notice the zero level of accountability the Secretary of the Treasury possesses in administering this course of action. A surreal grab for power! It makes me tremble.

Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency. —http://michellemalkin.com, Sept 22nd, 2008

I will contact my Senators and Congressman. I will voice my concern. Something tells me this is inevitable: a prelim to the dollar's fall and a knife in the heart of freedom. Lord have mercy.

I heard one expert say that the world economy is like a patient in intensive care that keeps going into convulsions and nearly dying. The doctors and nurses keep rushing over and giving him shocks and injections , but the convulsions and the risk of death keep getting worse and worse. The medical staff are scratching their heads not knowing what to do and so they try more and more radical stuff they have tried before..

This helped me understand that no one really understands...its only understandable from a spiritual point of view.

I had a friend who is an atheist rang me up last week and said, 'Padraig. this is a punishment from God because of our materialism, isn't it?'

'Yes, ' I replied, amazed. If an atheist can say this, there's loads of hope, thank God.

    More of the same!

    Hi Y'all,

I wish I didn't have to be so prophetic! It's a whole different experience watching the economies of the world fall apart than it was simply warning it would happen. Very sad and painful.

O like what the Holy Father has said about worshipping Mammon, it puts things in perspective.

O cannot deny I hated the materialism of the last decades and seeing it all crashing...well there's part of me not sorry about it. Sorry about the suffering, yes, but looking for a revival out of all this, to more deeper, lasting values.

As a mother I worry for my children and how they will survive. All I can do is entrust them to the hearts of Jesus and Mary. I try not to watch the news now and I always wake up during the night with a horrible fearful thing so I now sleep with my rosary beads in my hand. It helps.

At times, I too experience a little anxiety about the things to come... But most of the time I have a great calm about it all. I remember my grandparents -- they lived through the great depression. Tmes were tough, but they lived through it. They lived through it. Then prosperity returned. I feel for you all in Europe as my spiritual intuition tells me it will be tougher for you. I try to keep my sights set on the era of peace to come, to live in the now, and keep hoeing my garden.

    Mary,

O the heart of a parent! My two oldest sons are in seminaries heavily dependent on benefactors to meet even their daily needs. I also realize there is a direct correlation between prosperity and giving. Obviously, my concerns are also for my children, espcially Ben and Pat.

I promise this, that everyday for the remainder of the month, I will lift your children in prayer. May the uncertainty of these days cause them to turn to God for their needs and may Mary impress upon their hearts, the immeasurable love Christ has for them.

Don't let go of those rosary beads! :D

No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24

I was thinking about what the Holy Father said about Mammon and trying to read into the Signs of the Times in all this ,as Mary asked us to.

I think the first thing that prayerfully occurs to me is that none of this is caused by what analysts think it is. Yes, on the surface folks have been greedy and lent money out in a reckless manner. But I believe thats only on the surface. I think a small group of truly wicked and depraved people, under the service of Satan have engineered all this. This to produce great ,fear and uncertainty so that more and more people will be brought under centralised control.at the end of the day under the yoke of Satan. First we'll see civil unrest, the fall of Governments, riots, civil wars...the people will be so scared they'll reach out to any authority that promises security. But that centralised security will be a mask for Satan. When this is accomplished the true depraved nature of those who engineered our downfall will be revealed and outright persecution of the faithful commence, assisted by schism in the CHurch, itself engineered by the followers of evil.

Thts the way I'm prayerfully seeing it going down. I'd beinterested on anyone else's thoughts on this? Also in prayer tonight I felt a great fear and pity for religious and priests, I can a fearsome time in front for them....
