Well, what is highlighted above has begun to unfold. Here are recent developments within the last two weeks here in the USA. The value of the US dollar against a basket of other currencies has dropped 10%. The estimated Federal deficit for the current year stands at $1.6 trillion, quadruple the previous deficit record. The US Treasury issued billions of dollars in longterm bonds last week to help fund the deficit and the Federal Reserve had to buy up a significant portion! Why? Because foreign economies are reluctant to increase their dollar reserves. The Us Budget Office has estimated that the next ten years will witness an average annual deficit of $1 trillion. It sounds like a Pandora's Box to me!

This portents a dangerous risk of the dollar loosing its AAA rating and hyperinflation kicking in by year-end. Obviously, there's no guarantee, but...The very wierd fact is that for half-a-year we've heard about deflationary fears, and now this! Meanwhile, unemployment continues to ravage the lives of too many families.

    Lord have mercy!

Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

Funny, just today at Adoration God was talking to me in Scripture about raising lambs for clothing and goats for food... I thought I'd better look into weaving and spinning on a wheel...I've been after the goats for a couple of years.

I have heard an economist talking the other day about a 'double whammy' in other words a further depression on top of the previous one. I believe the good God intends to end our modern civilisation . He wishes us to return to more simple , basic generally rural communities centred around worship and where urban communities continue in small neighbourhood forms. When you think of this , with things like wind farms and solar panels its not so impossible as it sounds. Also as things fall apart I am sure we will come up with lots of new technologies.

In a kind of way I think we are in kind of a hallway period so we can get weaned of the present set up through disillusionment and actually wish for change. At the minute small groups of evil individuals can control us all through the media and Government but when things fall apart this will no longer be so. Its ironic that at this people most value their 'freedom' and 'individuality' whereas perhaps at no time in history has the individual been under so much threat.

I hope your hip is getting better Terry! I admire the way you carried a pretty big cross which came at the worst possible time. :)

I can just picture you with the goats, Gail. I have just built a wooden cage to grow potato's . They say it will grow a 100lbs of spuds!! Enough to feed me and several neighbours for a year! Wonderful!. I post a picture of it below. It was surprisingly easy to build. It gives me a lot of hope for if I can do this in a city others can too.

I am also planning to buy a little generator later, they are not very expensive second hand, or, if I can understand them a couple of solar panels.. I am doing a little at a time. Its not so much for myself but to help others, especially children. A step at a time...... :D I am full of hope....

I saw a caravan powering itself using two solar panels. So I can have food, power and heat for very little money, it only requires a little though and a very little money.

Its kinda fun too. I notice even unbelievers are taking action.

Things have really taken off here without any of my urging. My daughter invited in hens so we have 7 hens and a cock and we currently get 6 eggs a day. She sells the surplus to the local shop. She also has 2 geese, a goose and a gander but no eggs there yet. She and my daughter in law decided that they wanted some organic pork and have 3 pigs. They plan to breed from one of them. We planted a small garden to help with feeding these so I have potatoes, cabbage growing and also sowed carrots , parsnips etc the other day. I notice everybody I meet seems to be doing something about becoming self sufficient even though it does not seem economical at the moment as the supermarkets especially the german chains have cheap food especially vegetables which are imported. I dont think the cheap food will last. If hyperinflation strikes then it will be wise to have your own. I havent thought about the generator. Padraig where does one get one.?

    Hi Mary,

I noticed a couple for sale at a boot sale the other week and for sale in the buy sell magazines for upwards of only £50! I was surprised as I thought they might be dear. They are also available online.

But they are noisy and fuel dependent. Fuel might be a problem.

I am going to read up on solar panels. For a house I notice how many farmers are using wind turbines.

This is new to me too! :D

My daughter has applied to go on a course on how to build your own wind turbine as she has free time. If she gets on it it will be good and hopefully we will get one set up. There are so many people now looking at alternatives. Everybody I think knows that we are on the brink of major changes.

Yes, changes.....and for those who love God all for the good. I find doing little things and not rushIng it, like a hobby enjoyable; also maybe saving money too. I wish more people would do these things, but a lot of folks don't realise, or live in hope.

Yours is the attitude we must possess. God provides for his own who trust in him. He calls us to care for those who fail to acknowledge the wonders of Providence.

Mt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. 8)

Phil 2:4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Well to be honest with you Terry your post makes me feel like a fraud. I do try to show love to people but for me it is like trying to blow air into smouldering embers. I know fully that the little love I can show is purely a gift from prayer. Left to myself I'd kinda retreat into myself emotionally like a snail into his shell. Thats why although part of me would very much like to have been a monk or hermit never permitted it. I'm to inclined to retreat away from folks anyway and just sit staring at God. Who is very much worth staring at. :D For instance I have been going to the same Churches for years and have never really made any sincere attempt to reach out to others there. That is one thing I so much love about this forum in that it leads to reaching out right across the world. being celibate doesn't help either.

I more and more in recent years admire the Sacrament of marriage. It reminds me of the Blessed Trinity, at its finest a furnace of love. Father ,Son and Holy Spirit, husband wife and children. A loving Trinity. When a father like yourself, Terry holds his child in his arms he is holding Jesus close to his heart as Saint Joseph did. A parents arms can never be at his sides for they must always be open to others. A parents heart can never grow dusty or stale for its doors must always be open to those they love. A parents heart can never be unaware of the fruits of love when they see the fruits of their love their children and their love for their spouses growing.

Those who are married are like great great oaks who sent roots into the fertile soil of love with their constancy.

While someone like myself who is single , celibate and alone can deceive himself so easily as to my grave faults, not so in the community of the Holy Family were the Winds of the Holy Spirit, in the nature of the great Sacrament blazes so freely to illumine souls.

The married soul is not to only married in a special way to the Church , for the family is itself the Church in sito. The married soul , faithful to its vows treads a most Holy and certain, broad road of grace to heaven.

But what touches me most about this vocation is that it is ,at its constant, thoughtless to its own sacrifice. o hold Jesus in ones arms and to be selfless in of doing so, seems to me a great inner triumph of love.

I have been thinking a lot about Saint Joseph lately, heaven knows why. I'm on the night shift over this weekend so cannot post so much:

O blessed Joseph, faithful guardian of my Redeemer, Jesus Christ, protector
of thy chaste spouse, the virgin Mother of God, I choose thee this day to
be my special patron and advocate and I firmly resolve to honor thee all
the days of my life. Therefore I humbly beseech thee to receive me as thy
client, to instruct me in every doubt, to comfort me in every affliction,
to obtain for me and for all the knowledge and love of the Heart of Jesus,
and finally to defend and protect me at the hour of my death. Amen

"I know by experience," says St. Teresa of Avila, "that the glorious St. Joseph assists us generally in all necessities. I never asked him for anything which he did not obtain for me."

    Padraig,

I am married but have a similar personality to you in that I have a preference
to contemplate God! And in fact I can appreciate the appeal of a monastery.
The way that I communicate to others is through service and rarely
through words [I have often been called the 'Quiet man'].

With regard to the sacrament of marriage I can testify to its power. My wife and
I are close beyond the natural experience and there is a symbiotic relationship and
we often speak each others words and thoughts. I suppose we are like two lungs
breathing together and the fruit of our unity are our three boys. I would be
incredibly lonely without her as there is a bond that has developed through God's
grace and his promise that the 2 shall become 1 has come to fruition in our marriage.
It is like a fusion of mind, body, spirit. It is an incredible sacrament!! But it hasn't come
easy as I have had to bend my will and learn to serve in a Christ-like way. Of course
there has been friction at times but through God's grace I have
come a long way in 21 years of marriage but still have a long way to travel!
My life has become 'we' instead of 'me' through the sacrament of holy matrimony.

I think prayer is like that, a long courtship, with a marriage and a few rows along the way.

This is the end stage of prayer that we should get married to God...pray without ceasing...and the children of this marriage are the dear souls we bring to heaven with us; for no one goes to heaven or hell alone.

But as with human marriage, spiritual marriage is the true start of the relationship and not the end.

Thats what heaven is, really, an eternal marriage feast.

In the past, I have raised red flags concerning the state of the U.S. Dollar. Well, the beginning of its demise has arrived, as everyone, including the UN, is claiming the time has come to dethrone the Dollar as the world's reserve currency.

Of course, the globalists will attempt to control the Dollar's slide as to not drag the world economy down with it. The end of USA, as we know it, however, is a foregone conclusion. This will have enormous ramifications! Is it not interesting that approval of the Lisbon Treaty now looms on the horizon? And Iran has, or will shortly possess, the Bomb.

And Mary's Heart seizes with pain as she sees us awash in sin!

The clock is ticking! Let us fix our eyes upon Jesus and Our Lady.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world!

I think Terry of all the indicators of the fact that we have entered the Tribulation none have seemed as clear to me as an indication of a straw in the wind of Chatisements than the economic plunge.

I must say this thread and you yourself ,Terry have had a strong prophetic sense in this. I still think all this has been stage managed to lead us by the nose to One World Government. One World Government under Satan that is. Nothing could convince me more of this than the cooperation of the People's Republic of China.
These people have no patriotism no love for anything but themselves and their Satanic dreams.

You can follow echo's of their dreams at the UN, which they very clearly control. They want:

A massive reduction in the World Population.

    Strict population control..

Massive sanctions on human liberty for 'The Common good'

    Centralised control.

One world army and police force.

    A one world 'religion.

.....and so on. Al the things Satan wants, they want.

A good sign of were they are coming from showed in a recent scientific conference in Texas were delegates got up and wildly applauded when one 'scientist' said the best thing that could happen to the world was if a plague came along and killed 90% of the population. This is clearly Satanic.

:D I am on a rant...so I might as well add, I still think Swine Flu was engineered by humans

Present society has made a god out of Mammon so the economic
collapse is not a coincidence. False idols always collapse.

We all are in a time of purification - everything will be stripped bear
to the bone and the only thing left will be our faith in God. For those
who do not know God's love there is only despair. God's love is the
heartbeat - if God failed to think of us but for one moment we would cease
to be. We are always present to and in the thought & mind of God. So nothing
happens to us that does not have his divine mandate.

Even difficulties teach us faith and endurance.

This place is our temporary home, heaven is out true home, for eternity - we will
be lost in the love of God, an eternal honeymoon of idylic happiness and bliss.

We must pray, do works of mercy to others, and perform little various acts of self-denial whenever we can. The problems of the world are clear to us all, now more than ever we must pray, with all the might of our hearts.

For me, this news report represents a nail in the coffin of the US economy. The pattern of this pretend recovery is unprecedented and with the stimulus monies all dried up, the stability of our currency will also be on the ropes. The Federal Reserve has puchased $600 billion of Treasury notes in the last nine months, but they say no more. Pray, my friends, for grace and wisdom. Rough times are straight ahead.

I recall several years ago on this forum you were the first to indicate this as a Sign of the times, Terry and you did so repeatedly.

It would not be so bad if we all had honest reliable leaders whose words we could trust.

    Not so.

For if people agree to murder unborn children and to sanction sexual perversion as an institution thorugh , 'Gay Marriage' we can trust them with nothing. When they assure us that all is well and all is going to be well economically I simply do not trust them. Even if they knew the turuth themselves there is no way they would tell us.

I notice in Britian scandal after dreadful scandl, lies after dreadful lies going right to the very heart of their institutions taking in the police, the Government, the press, the media ; shaking them to their very foundations. People are loosing their trust in those who govern.

Thier is a Social COntrat between those who are Governed and those who govern and it is very clear to me that this is breaking down right before our eyes, for central to GOvernment is trust. ... and how is it possible to enter into such a contract with those who are first and foremost liars and frankly evil?

I do not trust them and I see this distrust spreading everywhere. THe worst thing is that people with no real morals are very, very easy to manipuplate and those who are willing to manipulate are already pulling the strings. ..and the people doing the string pulling work directly for Satan.

I never saw this thread since it's so old. boy, you guys were all over this situation in 2007...wow!! It seems at the beginning of the thread everyone thought a total collapse would have happened by 2010 or so. It hasn't happened yet, but the conditions really have not changed too much. In fact, the bad debt on the bank's books that initially caused all this I believe is still there, waiting to bite us again. Now add Greece and other unstable EU countries and it's even worse. A few weeks ago I was reading of a real-estate bubble in China and their debt...at some point this worldwide house of cards will fall.

Will the USA default on its loans??

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-14142621

This will have serious financial implications around the world and serious political consequences in the USA [as in Padraig's icons].

We are coming close to a perfect financial storm - European nations are creaking under debt & the USA is close to a financial meltdown so something has to give. Financial chaos leads to social chaos leads to breakdown of civil order and anarchy, leads to political dictatorship - perhaps the return of Communism since capitalism will be blamed for causing the financial armageddon.

Economic collapse = social breakdown = political collapse = return of dictatorship or one world type governance!!
