Hi MomsCalling Wow, a few posts back you were quite fired up  I just want to clarify a few things to you...since it feels like you implied I was a muslim-a-phobe  I'm not inviting you to respond back if you don't want to, as I believe you are done with the discussion...but just want to clarify a few things so you understand where I coming from. I only posted he lived and was schooled in Indonesia to point out that he was not christian all his life. That was the context of the post. Has what was taught to him there influenced him today...I have no idea...I don't even know what he was taught there and to be honost it was not something I thought about in my analysis of whether I wanted him to be president or not. So please be very cautious about stereotyping people so broadly because that can sometimes be untrue and hurtful. I posted this to give non-US readers insight into obama's spiritual past. Now this I did take into account in my analysis because he decided to attend this church as an adult, he attended for about 20 years, was very close to this pastor (baptized his 2 kids and I believe performed his marriage), and only broke off from the relationship when it was hurting him politically. I do think 20 years in this church has influenced him and helped shape and mold his current opinions. I think it still matters today because we will soon be voting again for our next president. But, this is just my opinion, and I accept that not everyone will think about a leader from a spiritual perspective when voting. But I hope you understand why it might be important to me. I think we on this forum have accepted or are in the process of accepting we have been chosen to live in this very special era and we are listening to God and are all at various stages of conversion or thinking about converting. I don't think we are fretting, but we are discussing the signs of the times. I love hearing all the opinions out there on the world, what is happening, etc. I hope we can continue to do so peacefully!!
Oops- back to politics- just need to explain something. I don't think we are going to default on our loan. I hope you understand that I did not say that I think Obama will leave us hanging- I just was saying that he has the power to fix this in the end if he needs to. If he doesn't- then I think it is his plan to destroy us- there is enough in his history to explain why he would but I don't think he is going to do it. I was reacting to being called selfish as a citizen of the U.S. I don't believe that we are all to blame if this issue is not handled well- I think its Stan's plan. Any way- Obama isn't the anti-christ- but he does support abortion and I don't generally agree with him on most things- but I'm not a hater of Obama. Off the politics now. I think I'll stop reading for awhile and just pray. This is distracting. Love and prayers to you all. Kath
"Off the politics now. I think I'll stop reading for awhile and just pray. This is distracting. Love and prayers to you all." Me too...I spent an hour and a half at adoration today. I am my own worst enemy, I think. God led me there, it was great. Confession on Saturday I think, its been too long. Started a 54 day novena today, using the Franciscan Crown Rosary. Why? Because in spite of my rantings on this forum lately, God still answered my prayers, and my mom's and anyone else who has been praying for Potatosack and me...I received a call first thing this morning - tomorrow afternoon I go in for a 2nd interview for the Tech Writer's job I have been praying for. God is merciful, indeed! I am SOOO not worthy!
Mom, What good news. I will pray it all goes well. My son in law has been looking for a suitable job for over a year now. He had a job on minimum pay for the past year that kept body and soul together but yesterday he got called for interview for a job he wants to do and he is to start next week. The only fly in the ointment is he has not a contract past September at the moment so he is taking a risk. Please include him in your prayers that it will become a permanent job. My daughter is expecting twins and they have a little boy. Thanks you Jesus & Mary Mary
what wonderful news on the 2nd interview!! I'll be praying that it goes well! MaryRose, I'll pray for your son in law too. Especially with the little ones it must be exceedingly stressful.
Mary rose, I'll add your intentions to my list. Connie great news. Potatosack I am praying for you everyday. We will keep our Heavenly Mother busy.
Maryrose, that is great! Jobs and babies abound! I think he is making the right decision. I have been looking for a job like this one for well over 2 years, dabbling in sales and not making enough to pay the bills, instead depleting all my retirement savings little by little. Even if I don't get the job it has been a prayer answered just to get this far. It has boosted my confidence again that it is possible. I will fill you in when I hear the outcome from today. I think it went very well, and I got the HR person (she is part of God's prayer answer, more on that later) to tell me it was down to just two of us and it sounded like mine was the final interview...so God willing I may hear as soon as tomorrow. Gotta go now, I need to pray my novena rosary and add a thanksgiving for the Holy Spirit's help today to tonight's petition.
