People have become so desensitised to sin and impurity.

That is why we must stay close to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

I suspect Mac hasn't seen the offensive material, he's relying on what someone has told him.

Lifesitenews has come with its own page which presumably contains the worst stuff they could find. Their page is at: https://www.lifesitenews.com/media/whats-in-the-vaticans-sex-ed but of course like all the material on their site it is a dreadful mix of original material and its own comments.

A much more valuable resource for a proper critical commentary on the Vatican's work in this area can be found here:

The whole of heaven is not pleased! It's one thing to take someone to task, but quite another to ridicule that person, and take delight in doing so. It is a very serious sin! It's such a worry because this sin against Pope Francis is leading to schism.

The Pope is sound when it comes to teaching faith and morals. That is all that should interest us. We've had stuttering popes....deaf popes...stubborn popes....bad tempered popes (St Peter) Popes that held their own opinion on so many issues - which thankfully had nothing to do with the faith. These men were weak in many ways...yet still good popes. Francis is Christ's representative on earth and should have the respect his office deserves. We are to love the pope. Not go searching for disjointed information from the likes of lifesite news. If something bothers us then we need to find out the truth first...not rub our hands together in glee, while shouting..."ahaha the pope has done it again! " Go in search of the original text. If you can't find a suitable answer then just say a prayer for the Pope, which is far more helpful than throwing 'stones' at him....and you won't be sinning. We have to stand before God one day....do we really want to hear the words.... ."Who made you judge and jury?"

Matthew 7 " Judge not, that you may not be judged, [2] For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again. [3] And why seest thou the mote that is in thy brother' s eye; and seest not the beam that is in thy own eye? [4]Or how sayest thou to thy brother: Let me cast the mote out of thy eye; and behold a beam is in thy own eye? [5] Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam in thy own eye, and then shalt thou see to cast out the mote out of thy brother' s eye."

Thank you David. I just can't bring myself to look at Lifesite news anymore. I had to unsubscribe, as have many others, which is sad because their reports on life matters are excellent. I fear they are now losing so many needed graces. We need to pray for them.

If you have read the material and looked at the pictures and found nothing offensive, then I cant help you Janet.
    You are to far gone.

This is such a disingenuous response, Mac. The link you provided for Janet contained absolutely no controversial material. I have copied a link above to the only material that lifesitenews could come up with.

"Lol . I expect Janet to say the same.."..."That is what is wrong. The fact you can no longer recognise error. Some of you are hopeless ."

Which error am I not recognising?

Now you are losing it, Mac but I prefer you this way than being disingenuous :)

The top link you provided contains NO controversial material.

I've only just posted the Cardinal Newman Society link and Janet has not commented on it.

For decades I was involved with the pro-life movement - helping with efforts to get pro-life speakers in schools. I also saw the perverse forms of sex education being pushed on our kids by the anti-life mob. To say I was horrified would be an understatement. So I do know the kind of sex ed being pushed on our little children. I want to scream "CHILD ABUSERS! " at the parents who don't seem to care what their child is being shown. What I saw in the Vatican's document then did not shock me at all. ..this is why I keep asking am I missing something. Also isn't this aimed at 15 year olds and upwards? The materials are directed to high school kids and styled as a "complement or aid to the task of parents." These are not 5 year old children. They've probably witnessed more shocking images in the shopping centres. One I saw a few days ago when I was out shopping made me sick! I still find it hard to believe we allow this. I dare not even watch the TV, apart from the news and documentaries, because the majority of the programmes are disgusting.

Pope Francis has criticised those that have "silenced parents" He's also been outspoken on the stupid mentality of indoctrinating children on gender theory.

“If family education regains its prominence, many things will change for the better. It’s time for fathers and mothers to return from their exile - they have exiled themselves from educating their children - and slowly reassume their educative role,” Francis said.

Before I posted this I did another check......

    "Sexually explicit pictures"

The document asks...." Do youths really need such explicit examples to get the point across that advertisers resort to crude sexual innuendo to sell goods?"

Image 1) An image of fruit depicted as breasts in an advertisement.

Image 2) An immodestly dressed girl dancing provocatively with a man. Also shown to compare...A modestly dressed couple smiling.

Image 3) President Obama looking at a woman’s buttocks or legs.

Image 4) A prostitute leaning into a car.

Image 5) Detail of Rodin's sculpture "The Kiss"

Image 6) Nude images on the ceiling of the Sistine chapel

Regarding the 'Vatican sex-ed' material discussed above, and because the various exchanges about it, above, may be confusing, I thought it might be helpful to provide two links from the Cardinal Newman's website on the topic.

The first is the link I provided earlier which provides a critical yet constructive response to the Vatican material: https://cardinalnewmansociety.org/meeting-point-sex-ed-program-not-ready-catholic-schools/ The article is supportive of Pope Francis and his intentions in this area.:

We find that The Meeting Point makes frequent use of sexually explicit and morally objectionable images, fails to clearly identify and explain Catholic doctrine from elemental sources including the Ten Commandments and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and compromises the innocence and integrity of young people under the rightful care of their parents.

With admiration for the work of the Pontifical Council for the Family and confidence in the Church’s authority on faith and morals, we find that The Meeting Point in its present form represents a significant break from the traditional approach to Catholic instruction and learning about human sexuality.

Moreover, we note that no Vatican official has directed implementation of this program in Catholic homes, parishes or schools. Neither have the United States bishops proposed adoption of the program. It has only been presented online as a resource—and not even a final program but “an opportunity to convene a large community of people to collaborate, to work, to exchange experiences and knowledge in this special field of education.” It is hoped, then, that the program may be edited and substantially refined in response to the feedback that has been requested by the Pontifical Council.

And I add a second link from the site which details its own approach to the matter:
    https://cardinalnewmansociety.org/human-sexuality-policies-catholic-schools/

with a PDF of the whole article from http://s3.amazonaws.com/cardinalnew...cies-for-Catholic-Schools-REVISED_For-Web.pdf

This alternative approach seems more in keeping with helpful comments made by forum member 'DivineMercy' at:

First, if it was going to be distributed to grammer school children...i get the arguments. But for high school students its not something shocking. They see it everyday in tv, movies, internet, billboards, radio and at school.

My question...is this book created specifically for Catholics or open to all educational systems?

    :)

Not exactly sure what the question is, FS. I'm sure everything is available for any denomination but if you look at the contents at http://www.educazioneaffettiva.org/the-project/?lang=en it all looks rather complicated to me and who knows whether it is useful or not in its current form. I'm impressed by what the Cardinal Newman Society has to say about it all.
