Why must we become saints? To give glory back to God, the glory that was lost in the fall. Even nature groans for its liberation to give true glory to God. I have always from a child loved trees and rivers. The trees extend upwards towards the sun in magnificant glory. The river cascades with its tributaries and channels, flowing generation after generation in time, perpetual motion. Nature extends upwards towards the sun. Our souls likewise extend towards the Son of God that we might be transformed and sanctified so that all glory might be given to and returned to the Holy Trinity the thrice Holy God who made us in His own image and likeness.
Daily this autumn I am praising God for the beautiful creation He provided--the hills and mountains and ordinary roads are a festival of gorgeous colors. My heart rises up in praise of the Beauty He provides. I cant help it. It just rises up. What magnificence.
The times do not acknowledge God at all. The powers that be want to assume His authority. The culture is utterly blind and intoxicated with death.
