I believe there was a thread last week discussing whether we were in the "springtime" of the Church. I think we might be looking at this through our "western" and even European glasses. I thought at least statistically these numbers were interesting and reflective of where the Church is now and where it may be going. Very interesting to see that In Europe the Church is essentially not growing, but almost everywhere else, especially in Africa and Asia it is flourishing. Interesting to note that in these areas is where you will find a more "conservative" approach especially when compared to EU and US. So, maybe the springtime is here, but the "here" is not in the EU or US? http://nineteensixty-four.blogspot.com/2015/06/global-catholicism.html

I don't think I have a piece as moving or thoughtful and quite frankly as exactly right as this blog is. What a gift to read as we contemplate all the challenges and concerns we have right now in our Church. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/acatholicthinker/2015/05/why-i-am-not-leaving-the-catholic-church/
