Homosexual Couples Adopted Baby Baptised in Catholic Church

As Servant of God, Father John Hardon SJ use to say: "We had better judge bad actions, lest we ourselves fall into sin", yet we do not judge the soul of anyone. Canon Law allows for immediate baptism of anyone who had 'moments to live', but this was not the case in the lesbians wanting their infant baptized as we can now publicly see. Allowing this 'couple' to baptize their infant, while mocking the Church, should never have been allowed by any clergyman who had done their due diligence before hand (ie., asking them if their intentions were to raise the child within the Catholic faith).

We do not help people to heaven by letting them think they are not doing wrong.

People have Rights, they also have responsibilities. If they are sent to hell and cry out to God that we had a part in their ending up there by pandering to their wickednesss, they will have Justice on their side at the Throne of God and we could be sent to Hell with them. What is more we would deserve it. Pandering to sin is as bad as the sin itself. In fact probably worse, for we are supposed to be in a State of grace. From those to whom much is given much will be expected.

False Charity will land you in hell just as quickly as true Charity will land you in heaven.

When the media applaud you it is time to search your conscience. And of course they adore the Lesbian Baptism buisness and much else. I am sure the devil is in wrinkles.

As mentioned twice Fatima in your above post I think that is the entire point I am making in the eyes of God it is not their infant they are adoptive gaurdians, the natural mother and father for all we know may have died true devoted catholics ????? if the gay rights want to brag satans boasts that is their problem, they have allready proved themselves hypocritical anyway by proclaiming before God do you reject satan ( I Do ) and all his works (I Do) I am just concerned for the future children of God ..

Another in a string of gay stories to assault true catholics. Will it ever end? Im so tired of this rainbow agenda being force fed to me left, right and centre. Baptism, new York Saint Patricks parade, the Winter Olympics. Im honestly sick of it. I've had enough. I'm tired of having my beliefs put in chains so other peoples beliefs can be, literally, paraded. Archbishop Fulton Sheen said "People don't tend to live as they believe, they always believe as they live. " If you read St. John's Gospel, over and over you read "They put their faith in Him". As discouraging as the present times are, let's all remember to put our faith in Him. Everyone who posts here is doing that and it's so great to have you all here, Trying or best to live as we believe, and meet here together in one place, to converse with and ponder these events in our heart, as troubling as they may seem.
On the direct subject of this thread, I'm uncomfortable with some things the pope is doing, but he had been chosen by the Holy Spirit. Let's see where he is taking us. He needs our prayers. He hasn't exactly "endorsed" anything, so there's hope yet. One question for us to think about: Which one of us would take his job at this time? Would we be doing as good a job? Yes we are uncomfortable, but wait. Just wait. Perhaps he knows something we don't. Remember, he has just called the whole world to confession at the same time Medjugorie called for the same thing.

The parents using this as a political to will incur a punishment worse than their worst nightmare. But a child being baptised: "Who, when their child asks for bread, would give him a stone? "

I understand where you are coming from here, but still cannot agree. If God wants a child baptized, it will happen. Look how many of us went through huge conversions without even asking for it. I personally never thought I was sinning or needed to be forgiven before the Holy Spirit convicted me! These women are exploiting the Church for their own ends, and admit it. I cannot say I don't wish the baby was never baptized, but this cannot be allowed. Read the book of Acts and then determine what the Apostles would have done. They had gay people back then also. ALL are welcome into the Church if they turn away from sin and believe in the gospel. All others and their children hopefully will someday be converted, as all of us were, and come into the Church then.

I clicked on the link to the article and honestly could not read it or get past the picture of them kissing in front of Our Lady's statue. It has placed a huge feeling of sorrow down deep in my stomach. I know she sees all but for me to see this is tough.

Q... the end does not justify the means. If this were true, in regards to baptism, then why does Canon Law clearly teach that the parent/guardian must consent to raise the infant in the Catholic faith? The infant becoming a member of the mystical body of Christ is a good thing, but the means he/she was baptized is gravely flawed. This is the scandal. Any faithful clergyman should understand this truth.

A huge moment of victory for them. If ever there was a prayer need its for these two women. Anybody know the significance of the woman in uniform on the left? Whats the medal shes presenting?

I think we have to trust in God's mercy but to also respect His justice. We just need to be ready. These are really challenging times. We need to remain in a spirit of prayer all the time. I think to try and "carve out" a short time of prayer each day for each of us would be a good habit to get into. I have had this week off, as a teacher in the UK, our Easter Holidays began last week. Already I have noticed that by getting up early and praying for a half an hour, then, after my children have gone to school,( they have different holidays to the diocese I work in), that I am calmer already. I did the Luminous mysteries this morning I take the dog for a walk and I visibly carry my rosary with me..... that has prompted a few comments the last four mornings. Good conversations. Conversations that might end in conversions if only I were around to nurture them ! This morning I was even able to make 10 am Mass . The joy of having this blessed time has shown me that actually I am so happily fulfilled being at home and caring for my family and those around me that I am already ecstatic about having next week off as well.

We are hearing about people losing their jobs and being made redundant a lot at the moment and yet most of me hopes that I might be able to afford, somehow, to remain at home. I so love baking - bread mainly, but everything else as well and this week, when my kids have come home, I have sat with them at the table as they enjoyed the scones/cakes/pancakes that greeted them after a hard days' studying.

Next week I will be back at the coalface earning money. And where I really want to be is evangelising my own neighbourhood. Maybe God will allow it one day......

Baptism - I think we have to agree to it where parents want it, but it is up to all of us to nurture it. Padraig - you have heard that saying "God writes straight with crooked lines" ? Well, I think that as Our Lady in Medjugorje says, this is a
time of grace. If an unlikely couple asks for baptism- well, then this is better than not asking for baptism, yes ? Let us not be the older brother in the Parable of the Prodigal Son. The time will come where we have to draw lines, but I think the time of grace is still ongoing.

A wonderful post Bella. Thanks for that. The parallel you drew with the older brother is very true and after the warning all of us will see multitudes of people who never set foot in church returning while we will say "You never offered me a much as a fatted calf to celebrate with my friends". I hope I play the older brother role well.

I qualify the analogy with the older brother by reminding us that this is a time of grace. If we identify with the older brother now, then let us show mercy and love to sinners while God's grace abounds. Remember St Paul says that where super-sin is found then God's grace is found in even greater measure. Super-sin attracts super Grace of forgiveness. These are the exciting times in which we live. But they will not last forever....

Reading scripture it looks like St Paul and even Jesus Christ Himself was as crabbitty, nasty, self righteous and Judgemental as I am. They clearly hadn't caught up with the times and become modern , charitable, progressive and kind as they quite should have been.:)

    Matthew 18:15–20

If Your Brother Sins Against You

15 m“If your brother sins against you, ngo and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have ogained your brother. 16 But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established pby the evidence of two or three witnesses. 17 If he refuses to listen to them, qtell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, rlet him be to you as sa Gentile and sa tax collector. 18 Truly, I say to you, twhatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed6 in heaven. 19 Again I say to you, if two of you uagree on earth about anything they ask, vit will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are wgathered in my name, xthere am I among them.”

    1 Corinthians 5:1–13

    Sexual Immorality Defiles the Church

5 It is actually reported that there is wsexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, xfor a man has his father’s wife. 2 And yyou are arrogant! Ought you znot rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.

3 For though aabsent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing. 4 When you are assembled bin the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, 5 you are cto deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so dthat his spirit may be saved ein the day of the Lord.1

6 fYour boasting is not good. Do you not know that ga little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7 Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 8 Let us therefore celebrate the festival, hnot with the old leaven, ithe leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

9 I wrote to you in my letter jnot to associate with sexually immoral people— 10 knot at all meaning lthe sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, msince then you would need to go out of the world. 11 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone nwho bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging ooutsiders? pIs it not those inside the church2 whom you are to judge? 13 God judges3 those outside. qnot even to eat with such a one

Doesn't seem very kind ,charitable, progressive or open minded , but it still seems pretty straightforward to me. But then again maybe St Paul was having a bad day.:ROFLMAO:
