I love to watch the clouds from a plane. They are awe inspiring in their beauty. I have never understood people who praise God by lifting a hand in the air and saying "Praise God." I look at the sky, stop in wonder, and say to God "No work of human art comes near your work. You are the greatest and the best artist ever." That is praise. We don't look down at a small child who is presenting us with his latest art work and say "Praise you.," We say "Well done, you're so clever. Good job," We mean it and the child accepts that praise freely with joy and without reserve. Yours is another wondrous image SoT. Good post. Cheers. Thanks. (Oops I sound a bit preachy again, never mind )
Yes, Joe God is an artist and poet at heart. One only has to look at all the beautiful poetry woven into life. It's there yes for a good heart to see. ..you know many of the saints.. in this case - St. Therese comes to mind; she us to write poetry and paint and make beautiful prayers, holy cards etc.. Such things rubbed off on me.. well written poetry.. who knows where my heart may lead me.. what adventure awaits? How can one breath the same air as God and not be a poet, artist of some kind? Well I digress a little, but I wouldn't be human if I didn't. fear not. God bless!

There is no better love than sacrificing one's own life for another. "Navy chaplain Luis Padillo gives last rites to a soldier wounded by sniper fire during a revolt in Venezuela. Braving the streets amid sniper fire, to offer last rites to the dying, the priest encountered a wounded soldier, who pulled himself up by clinging to the priest’s cassock, as bullets chewed up the concrete around them. The photographer Hector Rondón Lovera, who had to lie flat to avoid getting shot, later said that he was unsure how he managed to take this picture. The Catholic priest, Luis Padillo, would walk the streets, even through sniper fire, offering last rites to the fighters. Besides priest’s bravery, he also knows the enemy will think a lot before shooting him (just imagine the propaganda) and the enemy soldiers are catholic and would refuse that order." 1962.
