I remember as a small child hearing about the coming Ice Age. I remember my parents talking about it. It scared me because I was too little to understand anything about "Climate Change". The articles listed in the blog, by experts, are darn sure we were heading to catastrophe via an Ice Age. Article after article, by viable sources, experts, scientists, were positive. Absolutely positive. How will we survive????? It's really interesting to read the articles from Wash Post, NYT, NASA, NOAA, etc, etc. Viable scientific publications. And they were........wrong. Maybe I am naive. I am certainly not an expert. However, the Earth is bigger than we are. It can take care of itself. We have been industrialized for what.....200 years? How arrogant and full of pride are we?? If the world doesn't fall for this little diatribe, "they" (globalists) will just circle the wagons and come up with something else. I told my daughter that in 50 years she can go through another Ice Age like I did in the 70's
I didn't ask you for personal information. This is the internet and not a local parish meeting. Sometimes people join this forum and claim to be Catholics when they aren't. You claim to be a climate scientist. I have no way of knowing whether you are or not but since I'm not a scientist I'm willing to accept that you are. You also say that you are Catholic yet you have said some things that I, as a Catholic, find rather odd. I asked two questions which any believing Catholic should be able and willing to answer in the affirmative without hesitation. One was whether you believe that marriage can only be between one man and one woman, and the other was whether you believe that abortion is an intrinsic evil which cries out to God for vengeance. The overall tenor of your posts on this thread is that the earth will be uninhabitable due to rising sea levels within decades and you made some reference to Armageddon. The reason I asked those questions is this from the Book of Genesis: 1 God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, 'Breed, multiply and fill the earth. 2 Be the terror and the dread of all the animals on land and all the birds of heaven, of everything that moves on land and all the fish of the sea; they are placed in your hands. 3 Every living thing that moves will be yours to eat, no less than the foliage of the plants. I give you everything, 4 with this exception: you must not eat flesh with life, that is to say blood, in it. 5 And I shall demand account of your life-blood, too. I shall demand it of every animal, and of man. Jesus didn't revoke that Covenant between God and man and Pope Francis has no authority to revoke it. That the homosexual lobby has adopted a version of the rainbow as their symbol hasn't revoked that covenant. The abortion lobby has no authority to revoke the warning in verses 5 and 6. Climate change alarmists have no authority to revoke that covenant by telling us that we should all be vegan because meat eaters are destroying the planet. The reason I suspected you had been influenced by the Catholic Spring crowd while in the US is that one of their most active lobbyist also a homosexual and lobbied for what is sometimes euphemistically called "gay rights". That lobbyist targeted Archbishop Chaput particularly (he wanted the Archbishop to support Obama's Health Bill which ultimately resulted in the Little Sister being forced to go to Court to defend their freedom of religion) and Archbishop Chaput is named in that book, presumably grouping him with those supposedly fanatical Catholic haters of Pope Francis - the people you believe Pope Francis was perfectly right to bad-mouth. While I admit to merely skimming some of your posts, your reference to Pope Francis' likely having read the third secret of Fatima being among the reasons he has linked the Church to the climate change hysteria didn't sit right with me. We have no reason to believe that the Pope read any or all of the Third Secret. We do know, however, that Lucy was given the Secret by Our Lady and that Our Lady gave her to understand what it means. In fact Lucy and Jacinta are the only two people we can be absolutely sure understood the meaning of the Secret. And Lucy never mentioned rising sea levels. She was, however, very concerned about souls going to Hell for "sins of the flesh", and she also told Cardinal Caffara (one of the Dubia Cardinals) that the final battle between God and Satan will be over marriage and the family. Anyone comparing what Lucy was most concerned about and what Pope Francis says and does can reasonably conclude that if the Pope has read the Secret, his understanding of what it meant must be different that Lucy's. I don't care whether you respond to me or not. We know that the climate has changed in the past. Any data from past warming periods cannot be as accurate as the records taken since the 19th century on which the charts and graphs are based. It seems to me, therefore, that there must be at least some element of guesswork involved in what the climate change alarmists are predicting. No matter how well educated the guess, a guess is still a guess. Pope Francis (and you) owe those faithful American Catholics an apology. And Pope Francis should be ashamed of himself giving a platform in the Vatican to promoters of intrinsic evil. Had Paul Ehrlich supported the murder of immigrants trekking across continents in search of a better life, he wouldn't have been allowed cross the threshhold of the Vatican. That both Ehrlich and Sachs got the red carpet treatment in the Vatican merely confirms to me what was blatantly obvious the day the Pope called Emma Bonino a forgotten great.

Politics and the politicization of absolutely everything has ruined modern society. Now they are spouting that eating meat is bad for the climate.......whatever. If most people here prefer to believe the other side, let them do that. So for me the question is exhausted as a matter of my participation in that discussion. if I write again, it is about the mentioned Fatima. Who if not the pope knows the real secret? It might be, or a combination of, a nuclear war, a comet, or another big geophysical event presented in numerous movies. And it is clear that in case of a war it is the evil people who fulfill their own punishment, although the vision shows the angel with the spear. The consensus in approved Catholic prophesy (cf Birch) is fire next time. Tectonic eruptions of water might be secondary effects, but they would be wholly unrelated to the climate. Man in his arrogance has come to think that the climate on this planet is all down to him. He has come to forget that little detail in the sky. Apart from being, by far, the primary influence on our climate (the high CO2 levels on Venus aren't anthropogenic, for example), the sun might well be the source of a particular type of fire from the sky. A repeat of the Carrington event, a solar radiation storm, of 1859 would probably burn out every electic wire on the planet. Imagine, if you can, the effects of every computer, every electrical device being rendered into useless heaps of plastic and metal. Almost all human interaction would be rendered impossible. You wouldn't be able to access your money in the banks, your credit card would be worthless, the banks would have lost all their records, anyway. Your doctor would have lost your records, your car wouldn't be able to start, so you wouldn't get to the doctor or bank unless you were lucky enough to be within walking distance. Imagine the effect on those unfortunate enough to have had a mark of the Beast implanted within themselves-quite a headache. It would end our civilisation over-night. A Carrington repeat is a far more plausible and predictable catastrophe than some vague prediction of global warming, but nobody has any interest as it is outside human control, and human control is what this entire scam of global warming is really about. Not controlling the climate, but controlling the humans-which will be allowed to live or die, what they may or may not eat, whether or how they reproduce, how they keep warm, how they get around. Total, absolute control of the individual, in fact. Personally, I'd rather take my chances with global warming even if it were true.
I find it absolutely amazing that even now at this late hour there are still good catholics who defend this pope and fail to see what’s going on... The mind reels. As far as prophecy is concerned I can’t think of a single reasonably credible prophetic insight that attributes the future chastisements to the burning of fossil fuels or co2 or climate change. Not one. Nothing. Nought. Zilch. Nada. If I’m wrong I’m open for correction. All credible prophecy points to sin, turning away from God and His law, ignoring repeated warnings from heaven etc. So the inescapable conclusion is that the Vatican is wrong in siding with the globalist crowd against the words of Our Lord and His Holy Mother and the words and warnings of reputable seers, saints, prophets, popes over the last 2,000 years
