Just got an email from Campaign Life Coalition reminding me that Canada's annual Life Chain will be happening this Sunday. I've decided that this year I'm going to try attend this demonstration as it looks like a great opportunity to grow in some much-needed virtues like courage, meekness and humility. Please pray that I can attend, if it's God's will that I go there. And please pray also that whatever happens there will be a benefit to my growth in virtue and holiness, and that I am as open to God's grace as I can be there.
RosaryWielder, I have been going every year for quite some time (I also live in British Columbia). You can expect some not-so-nice passers-by, but I would say that most people are either supportive, or simply drive and look at us. But at least they are reading our signs (I think)
I went to the Life Chain demonstration today, I had one guy in a truck say my sign (which simply "Abortion kills children") was 100% true, and also a teen/young adult say "nice sign," I'm not sure if he meant in a positive or negative way. I'm also sorry to say that I meant a fellow pro-lifer there who is an ex-Catholic, I think there were only two Catholics there, including myself, though there was only a handful of people there in general. Please keep all these people in your prayer.
Good for you RW! I also went to the Life Chain today. Despite the typical BC rainy day, we had a fair turnout, thanks to the young seminarians who always come out every year. Sadly, most of our own parishioners, as well as all the other Christian churches in the area, don’t participate much. I only experienced a couple of rude people this time
