I was assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that she was referring to the USA since Luz de Maria was born in Central America (Costa Rica) and presently resides in South America (Argentina). I'll go back and check the earlier references to "country of the North" to see what they might indicate.
Considering that Russia is referred to in other prophecies as the 'country of the north' and they have been identified to unleach a fury on the countries surrounding it, i would assume as well that it is referring to Russia.
As I had not heard about Luz de Maria until recently (thanks to Leo's posts), I went to her website to read the various messages, and in reading about "The Warning", I saw that she spoke about seeing a "cross" in the sky. This reminded me of a dream I had back in May, 1993, just 4 mos. after coming into the Catholic Church (I came into the Church in Jan., 1993 - not at the usual time of being received into the Church, but this is another story.) My dream: I was standing in a large barren field - no trees, plants, building, nothing but an ashen looking ground. A thought came to me that all had been destroyed. There were people standing there as far as the eye could see, and I stood towards the back of them off to their left. Then suddenly appeared a large brilliant cross just above the horizon. Everyone there just stood looking in awe towards the cross on the horizon. Then the cross seemed to disappear, or perhaps was eclipsed, and to the right of where the cross was, a very large ball of light appeared (seemed like fire, but interiorly I knew it wasn't fire). As soon as the ball of light appeared, everyone fell prostrate on the ground (except for myself which I have always wondered about - I just continued to stand there watching as though watching a move). Since the time of this dream, I had read in several places about a cross appearing in the sky (St. Faustina, Luisa, etc.). At the time of this dream I had no knowledge of these things. May all be for the glory of God!
Like I mentioned already....why the mystery at all via the message anyway? What purpose would it serve? This should be painfully obvious. It can't be the US. In addition, Russia DOES have friends. "with friends like that, who needs enemies" I think you'd be hard pressed to find many in Russia who consider China their friend My thought re. the US is the same reason, Our Mother is speaking to a woman in South America, so I'd think she'd mention Russia as the country of the East, North would imply the US as we're north of them. But it doesn't really matter. The world and old order is imploding as we speak, no sense arguing over the color of the drapes
If she had said north of South America or Central America or Mexico you'd be right. But there are many countries of the North, but Russia has been the only one I know of that has been referred to as such in other prophcies.
Charlie also views this as a significant development: Meantime, France, Germany, Italy and Britain have all joined a Chinese Development Bank that seeks to supplant the American-led World Bank, despite U.S. objections to the move. The united European turn to China for financial leadership has led Australia, which initially rejected Chinese overtures, to reconsider. The center of gravity in the world both militarily and financially moves apace towards China – and this is a step closer to the dollar ceasing to be the world’s reserve currency. That is not good for the outlook for human freedom – but the U.S has not been on the side of freedom much these days. If all gravitates to China, it will just make clear that it is up to people of faith – those committed to the Judeo-Christian heritage of Western Civilization, to rise and stand in the breach to keep the hope of human liberty alive. This just clarifies the battle lines.
In an entirely secular economic way this is HUGE and key to America's fall (Obama has been quite effective in his plan to take us down). It's also bizarre that the dollar is so strong against the Euro. But as they say "big guys fall harder" so the rise in the dollar will make the fall all the more painful (as the stock market fall will be as well)

they look like two different entities here. US is named specifically, while Russia is north. Russia is being made quick to act....i.e. war by the provocation of the US
Leo, that is not if but when for the New Madrid. I live in Kentucky on the Ohio River, about 300 miles from the epicenter of the great quake in the 1800's. When the New Madrid goes, I will either have beach front property or be under water.
